Hanuman is a god of physical culture, who possesses great health and amazing strength, wisdom, wit and supernatural powers.

He gives courage, hope, knowledge, intellect and devotion. He possesses great healing powers by the means his own natural health and strength and the knowledge of medicinal herbs. He can share it with you when you need it and know how to ask for it.

Hanuman has the body of a human and monkey, that symbolizes his extraordinary strength, agility and wit. He is adventurous, strong, wise, cunning, knowledgeable, a musician, highly religious, courageous, fearless and, above all, totally devoted to his master Sri Rama. His physical strength, enriched by supernatural powers, was given to him by birth and blessings of Rama for Hanuman's selfless service and devotion.

He represents a life of service to God. He is praised for his devotion, ability to help and serve.

Hanuman is worshipped with offerings of butter, sandalwood paste and a garland of vadais. Butter is applied to the mouth & tail of the Hanuman idols in temples. There exists a form of Hanuman worship where the devotees pray to Lord Hanuman, apply dots (vermilion) of kumkum to his image from the starting point of the tail to the tip of the tail with an earnest prayer.

It is believed that the wish will come true before the dots reach the tip of the tail which bears a small bell.
