«Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.» John 6,68

Tuesday, 03 February 2004

2nd book of Samuel 18,9-10.14.24-25.30-32.19,1-3.

Absalom unexpectedly came up against David's servants. He was mounted on a mule, and, as the mule passed under the branches of a large terebinth, his hair caught fast in the tree. He hung between heaven and earth while the mule he had been riding ran off. Someone saw this and reported to Joab that he had seen Absalom hanging from a terebinth. Joab replied, "I will not waste time with you in this way." And taking three pikes in hand, he thrust for the heart of Absalom, still hanging from the tree alive. Now David was sitting between the two gates, and a lookout mounted to the roof of the gate above the city wall, where he looked about and saw a man running all alone. The lookout shouted to inform the king, who said, "If he is alone, he has good news to report." As he kept coming nearer, The king said, "Step aside and remain in attendance here." So he stepped aside and remained there. When the Cushite came in, he said, "Let my lord the king receive the good news that this day the LORD has taken your part, freeing you from the grasp of all who rebelled against you." But the king asked the Cushite, "Is young Absalom safe?" The Cushite replied, "May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rebel against you with evil intent be as that young man!" The king was shaken, and went up to the room over the city gate to weep. He said as he wept, "My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son!" Joab was told that the king was weeping and mourning for Absalom; and that day's victory was turned into mourning for the whole army when they heard that the king was grieving for his son.

Psalms 86,1-6.

A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and oppressed.
Preserve my life, for I am loyal; save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; pity me, Lord; to you I call all the day.
Gladden the soul of your servant; to you, Lord, I lift up my soul.
Lord, you are kind and forgiving, most loving to all who call on you.
LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for help.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 5,21-43.

When Jesus had crossed again (in the boat) to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him, and he stayed close to the sea. One of the synagogue officials, named Jairus, came forward. Seeing him he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, saying, "My daughter is at the point of death. Please, come lay your hands on her that she may get well and live." He went off with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed upon him. There was a woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years. She had suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors and had spent all that she had. Yet she was not helped but only grew worse. She had heard about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak. She said, "If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured." Immediately her flow of blood dried up. She felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. Jesus, aware at once that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who has touched my clothes?" But his disciples said to him, "You see how the crowd is pressing upon you, and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'" And he looked around to see who had done it. The woman, realizing what had happened to her, approached in fear and trembling. She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction." While he was still speaking, people from the synagogue official's house arrived and said, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?" Disregarding the message that was reported, Jesus said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid; just have faith." He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. When they arrived at the house of the synagogue official, he caught sight of a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. So he went in and said to them, "Why this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep." And they ridiculed him. Then he put them all out. He took along the child's father and mother and those who were with him and entered the room where the child was. He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise!" The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around. (At that) they were utterly astounded. He gave strict orders that no one should know this and said that she should be given something to eat.

Christian Ways to Reduce Stress
1. Pray.
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No, to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you to do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.,
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough exercise.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write thoughts and inspirations down.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you, Jesus!"
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but yourself not at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.
"If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

Dear Sahar:

The condolences of the entire arbible yahoo group and my personal condolences also. It is very hard to loose one's parent. We don't grieve for the departed because we know that they are in the Paradise of Joy. The place of the living with God, in heavenly Jerusalem where there is no more crying, sorrow, or pain. Comforted by those who preceded us, with the forefathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

We grieve for missing them, that is all. I have had lost my mother when it was not expected, and I was extremely sad. What really helps is praying and being in the good company of those you love and you know that they care. Also, receiving the sacrament of holy communion does fill the soul with hope that God who died on the Cross does care, and it is His plan (let it be Your will) for the departed to leave the world of sorrow when it did happen, not after and not before.

For you, you should have the Comfort in knowing that Christ is Coming Again:
"13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.(1 Thessalonians 4: 13-).

Concerning the Departed, I find comfort in the words of St. John the Divine:
".. and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:3-).

Be comforted in knowing that we are all praying for you and your family. The blessings of Jonah's fast be with us all. Glory be to God in His saints.

Life Choices
Life isn't about keeping score.
It's not about how many friends you have or how accepted you are.
Not about if you have plans this weekend or if you're alone.
It isn't about who you're dating, who you used to date, how many you haven't been with anyone at all.

It isn't about who your family is or how much money they have or what kind of car you drive or where you went to school.
It's not about how beautiful or ugly you are or what clothes you wear or what kind of shoes you have on or what kind of music you listen to.

It's not about if your hair is red, black, brown or blonde or if your skin is too light or too dark.
Not about what grades you get, how smart you are, how smart everybody else thinks you are, or as smart as standardized tests say you are.

It's not about what clubs you're in or what sports you play, or how good you are at "your" sport.
It's not about representing you, who being on a piece of paper and who will accept "the written you."

LIFE JUST ISN'T
But...life is about who you love and who you hurt.
Life is about who you make happy and unhappy purposely.
Life is about keeping or betraying trust.
Life is about friendship regarded as sacred or used as a weapon.
Life is about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful and maybe heartening.
Life is about starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip.
Life is about what judgments you pass and why, and who your judgments are spread to.
Life is about who you've ignored with full control and intention.
Life is about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge.
Life is about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow and spreading it.
But, most of all, Life is about using your life to touch, or poison other people's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred by itself.
Only you choose the way those hearts are affected.
Those choices are what life's about.
Choose Wisely!

Giving Him the Key

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me. ~ Revelation 3:20

A friend of mine tells the story of an encounter he had with a very important government official - the head of state for a country. In the course of some meetings with my friend, the official came up to him and said, "I perceive that there is a difference between you and me. Is it because I come from a different denomination?" My friend began to explain why there was a difference.

"If you were to come to my home, I would invite you in as an honored guest. As my guest, you would enjoy everything I had in my home. However, you would still be a guest. You would not have the keys to the home, and your authority in that home would be merely as a guest. However, if I said to you that I am turning over my home to you and you now have the keys to my home, I would be your servant with the responsibility to run the home through your counsel and direction." My friend continued, "This is the difference between you and me. I have given Jesus the keys to my home [heart]. You have merely invited Him in to yours as an honored guest."

"How can I do this too?" the man replied.

"All you have to do is invite Him in as the new owner."

The man did this and is now allowing Jesus to rule and reign in every detail of his life.

So often many of us enter a relationship with God that brings us salvation. This is the gospel of salvation. But what God really desires for us is to experience the gospel of the Kingdom. He wants us to experience His power and presence every day of our lives and to see His hand at work in us. This only happens when we give Him the key to our life; He must be more than an honored guest.

Where are you today? Has your life with God been more like an honored-guest relationship, or does He have the key to your life?

My deepest condolences for you and your family.
I understand your great loss .......but i'm sure God understands more
.......May He support you and yours , may He gives you strength to go on

Sometimes , we don't know the reason for certain things in our lives

other reasons ..that we don't see .
And i'm sure He'll help you through this very sad time .......and surely

ص1 ( 12 – 16 ) .

Subject:
kyro012@...
Send Email Send Email

five lessons to make us think about the way we treat people.

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I
was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until
I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the
school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning
woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how
would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
blank.

Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would
count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many
people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care,
even if is smile and say "hello."
I've never forgotten that lesson.
I also learned her name was Dorothy.

2.- Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain.
One night, at 11:30 p.m., an older African American woman was standing
on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm.

Her car had broken down and she
desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those
conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get
assistance and put her into a taxicab. She seemed to be in a big hurry,
but wrote down his address and thanked him.
Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise,
a giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A special note was
attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
the other night.
The rain drenched not only my clothes,
but also my spirits.
Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just
before he passed away.
God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others." Sincerely,
Mrs. Nat King Cole.

3 - Third Important Lesson -
Always remember those who serve.
In the days when an ice cream sundae
cost much less,
a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop
and sat at a table.
A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.
"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled His hand out of his pocket and studied the coins
in it.
"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?"
he inquired.
By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing
impatient. "Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.
The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice
cream," he said.
The waitress brought the Ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked
away.
The boy finished the ice cream,
paid the cashier and left.
When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
table.
There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
were two nickels and five pennies.
You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left
to leave her a tip.

4 - Fourth Important Lesson-
The obstacle in Our Path.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid
himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.
Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply
walked around it.
Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none
did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying
a load of vegetables.
Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried
to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and
straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of
vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been.
The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating
that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the
roadway.
The peasant learned what many of us
never understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to
improve our condition.

5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts.
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to
know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare & serious
disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion
from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same
disease
and had developed the antibodies needed
to combat the illness.
The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the
little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister.
I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and
saying,
"Yes I'll do it if it will save her."
As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and
smiled, as we all did,
seeing the color returning to her cheek.
Then his face grew pale and his smile faded.
He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I
start to die right away?"
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he
was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save
her.

Now you have 2 choices:
1. Delete this email, or
2. Forward it to people you care about.
I hope that you will choose No. 2 and remember.
"Work like you don't need the money,
love like you've never been hurt, and
dance like you do when nobody's watching."
NOW more than ever - Peace...
May you be blessed

DAILY GOSPEL
«Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.» John 6,68

Wednesday, 04 February 2004

2nd book of Samuel 24,2.9-17.

Accordingly the king said to Joab and the leaders of the army who were with him, "Tour all the tribes in Israel from Dan to Beer-sheba and register the people, that I may know their number." Joab then reported to the king the number of people registered: in Israel, eight hundred thousand men fit for military service; in Judah, five hundred thousand. Afterward, however, David regretted having numbered the people, and said to the LORD: "I have sinned grievously in what I have done. But now, LORD, forgive the guilt of your servant, for I have been very foolish." When David rose in the morning, the LORD had spoken to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying: "Go and say to David, 'This is what the LORD says: I offer you three alternatives; choose one of them, and I will inflict it on you.'" Gad then went to David to inform him. He asked: "Do you want a three years' famine to come upon your land, or to flee from your enemy three months while he pursues you, or to have a three days' pestilence in your land? Now consider and decide what I must reply to him who sent me." David answered Gad: "I am in very serious difficulty. Let us fall by the hand of God, for he is most merciful; but let me not fall by the hand of man." Thus David chose the pestilence. Now it was the time of the wheat harvest when the plague broke out among the people. (The LORD then sent a pestilence over Israel from morning until the time appointed, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beer-sheba died.) But when the angel stretched forth his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD regretted the calamity and said to the angel causing the destruction among the people, "Enough now! Stay your hand." The angel of the LORD was then standing at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. When David saw the angel who was striking the people, he said to the LORD: "It is I who have sinned; it is I, the shepherd, who have done wrong. But these are sheep; what have they done? Punish me and my kindred."

Psalms 32,1-2.5-7.

Of David. A maskil. Happy the sinner whose fault is removed, whose sin is forgiven.
Happy those to whom the LORD imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no deceit.
Then I declared my sin to you; my guilt I did not hide. I said, "I confess my faults to the LORD," and you took away the guilt of my sin. Selah
Thus should all your faithful pray in time of distress. Though flood waters threaten, they will never reach them.
You are my shelter; from distress you keep me; with safety you ring me round. Selah

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6,1-6.

He departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples. When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They said, "Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house." So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. He went around to the villages in the vicinity teaching.

"The greater the pain that you feel, the more you should welcome the person
whose reproof makes you feel it. For he is bringing about within you that total
purification without which your intellect cannot attain the pure state of
prayer."

Ilias the Presbyter.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God
relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did
not do it." Jonah 3:10

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Bible reading for the 26th of Tuba, February 4th, is:
32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, "I have compassion on the
multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing
to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."
33 Then His disciples said to Him, "Where could we get enough bread in the
wilderness to fill such a great multitude?" 34 Jesus said to them, "How many
loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven, and a few little fish." 35 So He
commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. 36 And He took the seven
loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples;
and the disciples gave to the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled, and
they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. 38 Now
those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And He sent
away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of Magdala.
1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would
show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, "When it is
evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red'; 3 and in the
morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.'
Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern
the signs of the times. 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign,
and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." And He
left them and departed. (Matt. 15:32-16:4)
The Third Day of Jonah's Fast.
Martyrdom of the 49 Elders of Shehet.

The Bible reading for the 27th of Tuba, February 5th, is: John 2:13-25

Dear Rita and all arbible friends

Thank you Rita for a very nice story. It really effectively addresses the first most important point in the parable of the "Good Samaritan". I hope we all got that lesson.
Love means getting down in the ditch with someone to give them what they really need. It means getting dirty and being inconvenienced. Sometimes it means laying
down your life for a friend (John 15:13).

But let us not forget that the parable even goes another step further.
We should do exactly this with those who are called our enemies.
The whole parable was in response to the question of the "Doctor of Jewish Law": Who is my neighbor (whom I am ordered by God to love, "Love your neighbor")?.
After telling the whole story, Jesus asked: Which one of these you think was neighbor to the man who fell among the thieves?
The Lawyer responded: He that showed mercy to him. This implies that a neighbor is he who does mercy to me, even if he is a Samaritan. The Jewish lawyer may accept, with difficulty, to consider a Samaritan a neighbor, if he does mercy to him.
But the Lord Jesus responded to the lawyer saying: You go and do likewise. This means that if you do to your enemy like what this Samaritan did, you will be his neighbor. Don't wait till your enemy does mercy to you, but you go and do him mercy first, then your enemy will be your neighbor.
Although, I did not put this as clearly as you did in your story, I hope all of us can understand this second important point in the parable.
The third important point is as you mentioned: Jesus did that for us. Yes, This parable is also about Jesus Himself, being the true Good Samaritan. His enemies among the Jews called Him "A Samaritan".
Thank you for this nice story.
Sincerely,
Ramzy Labib

The Good Samaritan Revisited
One day, a priest was walking down a country lane when he heard cries
coming from a ditch on the other side of the road.

"Help me! Help me, please!"

The priest stopped and strained his neck to see into the ditch. Then
he called across the road, "What happened to you?"

"I was traveling to town when I was attacked, beaten, and robbed.
Please help me, I can't move," the voice responded.

The priest paused for a moment. Then he yelled back to the voice in
the ditch. "Listen, there's this guy called the Good Samaritan who
always helps people in need. He should be coming down the road any time
now. He'll help you. I don't know anything about first aid and I
wouldn't want to make things worse."

"Wait, you don't understand, I'm..."

But the priest had already gone on his way.

Soon, another man came walking along the road. This man was a Levite.

"Help me! Help me, please!"

The Levite stopped in the road and looked from side to side. "Who was
that? Who said that?"

"I did, over here!" called the voice from the ditch on the other side
of the road.

"You talkin' to me?" asked the Levite.

"Yes, you! I was traveling to town when I was attacked, beaten, and
robbed. I need your help!"

"Oh," said the Levite, gazing into the ditch. "You do sound like
someone who could use some help. Wait a minute! Attacked? Beaten?
Robbed? What a coincidence. That reminds me of a story a fellow named
Jesus told! Ever heard of him?"

"Yeah, I know the story. Now, can you help me?"

"Actually, I'm in quite a rush. But I'm sure that someone else will be
along shortly to help you. Someone called...um...the Good Samaritan!
That's it! He'll be along soon. This is a busy road, you know."

"Couldn't you help me? I'm feeling very weak, I can't..."

"I'm sorry, but I'm not the Good Samaritan. I'm the Levite. If I helped
you, it would ruin the story. You wouldn't want me to do that, now,
would you?"

"No, I wouldn't want you to do that, but I think it's already...Wait!
Come back!"

"Patience there, chap! I'm sure the Good Samaritan will be along
shortly," the Levite said as he went on his way.

"Ohhhh...I can't last much longer," the wounded man said softly.

Soon another man came walking along the same road. He ran over to the
ditch when he heard the man crying.

"Oh my goodness! What happened?"

"I was traveling to town when I was attacked, beaten, and robbed. Two
other men have walked by and haven't helped me. Please help me. I can't
move."

The traveler peered in at the wounded figure lying on the ground in
front of him. Finally he said, "Wait a minute...you look familiar.
Where are you from?"

"Samaria."

"Do you by any chance have a nickname?" he asked, suddenly excited.

"Me? Oh, some people call me the Good Samaritan because I helped an
injured man on this road a while back."

"Yes! Yes! Well, sir, I was the man you helped! All this time I have
been looking for you because I wanted to pay you back! Wow, this is
great! I can't wait until I find my friends and tell them that I
actually met up with you again! And now I can finally pay you back!
Look, here are two silver coins--exactly what you gave that innkeeper.
I feel so much better having finally repaid you. This is wonderful!"

The grateful man, who had himself once been attacked, beaten, and
robbed, laid the two silver coins in the dust next to the wounded man
and then cheerfully went on his way, whistling a happy tune.

"Wait, wait! I don't want your money..." whispered the man from
Samaria. But it was too late. The other man was already gone.

And so, the Good Samaritan died quietly in a ditch by the side of the
road.

Jesus told the original story of the Good Samaritan to teach us how to
love. But like the grateful man in this take on the parable, we
sometimes miss the point. Love is more than words; it's more than a
feeling; more than doing what's easy and convenient. Love means getting
down in the ditch with someone to give them what they really need. It
means getting dirty and being inconvenienced. Sometimes it means laying
down your life for a friend (John 15:13). Jesus did that for us

Awestruck
In 1990 a woman entered a Haagen-Dazs ice cream store in the Kansas City Plaza for an ice-cream cone. While she was ordering another customer entered the store. She placed her order, turned and found herself staring face to face with Paul Newman.

He was in town filming Mr. and Mrs. Bridge.  His blue eyes made her knees buckle. She finished paying and quickly walked out of the store with her heart still pounding. Gaining her composure she suddenly realized she didn't have her cone; she turned to go back in. At the door she met Paul Newman who was coming out. He said to her, "Are you looking for your ice-cream cone?"
Unable to utter a word she nodded yes. "You put it in your purse with your change."

When was the last time the presence of God made you forget what was going on around you?
Made you forget the dishes?
Made you forget the ball game?
Made you forget the bank account?
Made you forget where you put your ice cream cone?
