I'm not sure about the archery practices, but Atenveldt and Sundragon
(IRC) typically have waterbearing at fighter practice.

Greetings!

As of September 8, my warrant as Kingdom Waterbearer has expired.

All official waterbearing business should now go through the
throughly capable, warranted Kingdom Deputy, Lady Aurelia until my
replacement is announced. Her contact info is available on the
kingdom website (www.atenveldt.org), and she is also a member for
this list.

Thank you all so much for your time and support during my time in
office! Please continue to keep the populace healthy and hydrated.
Your dedicated service is appreciated by so many!

Though I won't see you all at the next Estrella due to maternity
leave--I certainly hope to see you at the next!

Ya'll rock!

Greetings all!

I am Lady Aurelia Chrysanthina Dalassene, and will be stepping up as
the new Kingdom Waterbearer for the next couple of years. :o) I will
be searching for a warranted deputy and one or two unwarranted
(Estrella) deputies. If you know anyone interested in either position,
please let them know I will be making a public call for deputies
hopefully within the next week.

I know some of you on this list and am looking forward to meeting the
rest. Thank you all for your past, present, and future service to your
Baronies and to this glorious Kingdom. If there is anything I can do
to help anyone out, please do not hesitate to contact me. The easiest
way will be by email: meghan_gustafson@....

And as a friendly reminder: reports are still due to the Kingdom
Chirurgeon at the beginning of October. Please send your reports to me
at meghan_gustafson@... by the evening of the 29th. If you won't
be able to make that deadline, please contact me ASAP. Sorry for the
short notice, but having just gotten into the position I'm catching up
myself. :o)

I also attended the Estrella War meeting this past weekend, and will be
posting some information in regards to the war as soon as a few more
things are clarified and I have a good plan of how I would like to go
about it this year. The site is new with a larger, greener battlefield
(with shade onsite) and much more flat terrain than Estrella Mountain
Park. This may make it easier on us all. :o)

Again, I look forward to working with everyone soon!

In Service,

Aurelia,

Of course I will assist you as much as I can. I am going early and
can set up stuff ahead of time so you don't have as much to do when
you get there. Lady Shannon of Caid and Claire de Bretigny (Cecile's
sister) are both going to assist. I'm sure you can also talk to the
members of our Clan and whomever among our guests that are coming to
see if they can assist at some point during the war as well!

I have some of the interkingdom waterbearing info. Call me at home or
send me an email offlist.

Cheers,

The BTY autocrat is Lady Rois, and I've talked to her about it.  I was still waiting for her to decide what she wanted to do, but I believe she wanted to go with tradition and have BTY's baronial waterbearer (you) do it if you were willing.  If not, I've already prepared to be the "backup" for that one.

I had already planned to coordinate the one in the Shire of Granholme, but if you will be attending and can be out on the field that would be fantastic.

For Estrella War and other Kingdom events, the waterbearing supplies come out of the Kingdom budget.  So, you don't really need to worry about those.  I have not done budgeting on a Baronial level, so maybe one of the Baronial waterbearers might be able to answer this question?

I hope the new year finds everyone well.  I would just like to announce that I will be having a meeting at the Estrella War site on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the waterbearing pavilion on the Eastern end of the pavilion.

If you are interested in being a coordinator, the Estrella War Event Stewards and I ask that you be present for this meeting.  The format will be different from other years, and we need to go over a few things before the battles start on Friday.

Also, if you are interested in coordinating, please let me know ASAP.  I would like to get some schedules going so that everyone has a chance to take a break and do something other than waterbearing.

Estrella XXIII Waterbearing Station Information

Greetings and welcome to Estrella XXII Waterbearing!

Thank you for volunteering for such a critical role during this
war. Please relay this information to the waterbearing volunteers
in your area.

Volunteers. We can use all eligible volunteers. Please do not turn
anyone away. If your station is fully staffed, direct the volunteer
to Waterbearing Point by the stadium stands. All waterbearing
volunteers must be at least 16 years old and wear closed-toe shoes.
Volunteers using the industrial orange slicer or any other cutting
utenciles at Waterbearing Point must be 18 years of age. Please
remember to fill out volunteer slips! We work hard and our groups
deserve the recognition and financial support of volunteer hours.
The main books will be kept at Waterbearing Point. Fill out both the
top and bottom of the form at the beginning of the volunteer shift,
and remember to have the station coordinator sign them.

We love children, but Waterbearing Point and water stations are not
appropriate places for children to hang out due to safety concerns.
There are many sharp objects, chemicals, bees and fighters with
limited fields of view around the stations. There are many Youth
activities available during the war. Unattended children will be
directed toward their parents and handled in accordance with
Atenveldt Kingdom policy. Also keep in mind that we are incredibly
busy whether or not the battles are in session, and we also cannot
watch or take care of personal items and pets. Ask the populace to
kindly not leave such items/pets at the stations.

Hygiene. Hygiene is very important so that our volunteers and our
fighters do not get sick. Hand sanitizer and bleach is available at
all stations. Atenveldt waterbearers encourage non-contact
waterbearing. Remember, "squirt, don't suck!" Although this may be
inconvenient for some fighters, we are trying to encourage the
health and safety of the fighters by not sharing contagious germs.
Contaminated pop-tops will be sanitized with a bleach water
solution. Fighters with special needs are encouraged to bring their
own special equipment. Refills are always available at a
waterbearing station.

Supplies. There will be plenty of water and Gatorade available at
all times. In order to make our food supplies last through the war,
food supplies are rationed on a day by day basis. Please only cut
the number of oranges and pickles that you need to eliminate waste.
Waterbearing food supplies are to supplement the fighters' diets,
not to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. If your station is
running low on supplies, radio the head Waterbearer for your area,
so that your station can be delivered the needed supplies. Please be
specific. We do not have cups at our stations due to the expense and
waste. Populace members are encouraged to bring their own drinking
vessel to fill.

Combat. Always follow the marshalls' commands to enter and leave the
field. NEVER enter the field during the fighting. Direct
waterbearers toward resurrection points. Waterbearers may give water
from the sidelines during battle.

If in doubt, or there is a problem with a fighter, fellow volunteer,
or any other member of the populace, please contact me ASAP.

Yours in Service,
Lady Aurelia Chrysanthina Dalassene

Greetings to all!

I have recently gone through the inventory for the Kingdom Waterbearing office, and many items that bear the Waterbearing logo such as banners, arm ties, baldrics, etc have sprouted legs and gone missing over the years.

These items are important for events like Estrella War so the Waterbearers and Waterbearing Stations are easily recognized by fighters and populace when refreshment is needed in a pinch.

I would like to ask the populace if anyone (or any household or other group) would be willing to make and donate these items to the Kingdom Waterbearing office?  Even one simple item from many people would help us out immensely.

Please contact me at meghan_gustafson@... for specifics (colors, design, sizes, etc).

(Or, if you somehow find the little hitchhikers amongst your war supplies while cleaning and packing, please let me know as well...no questions asked).

Thank you!

For those that had 2 L waterbottles to donate to the Kingdom Waterbearing for Estrella War, I will be out at War Practice this upcoming weekend.  I will also be at the Sable Knight Tourney and the Back in Black Revel.  I can take any 2 L bottles then.

Thank you!

This is just a quarterly reminder to the Baronial Waterbearers about sending reports to not only your Barons and Baronesses, but a copy to me as well, please.  :o)  I have only gotten them from the BMMT's waterbearer the past few months.  Also, please don't forget about Doomsday Reports!

Thank you!

Greetings to all (and please forward to other lists)!

I would just like to say thank you to several of my wonderful
Volunteers at Estrella War XXIII. Everyone worked hard and did a
fantastic job.

I would especially like to take the time to thank those that worked
as station coordinators (or put in a lot of hours), as these ladies
were there 2 or more (full) days, and I believe none had any prior
experiences with coordinating a station at Estrella War. I do not
have full names and other information for all of these ladies, but
email to me can fix that. :o) I am truly proud of all of these
ladies (and gentleman):

-Lady Rois McCracken – Barony of Tir Ysgithr, Kingdom of Atenveldt
-Visc. Lore de Lorraine – Barony of Tir Ysgithr, Kingdom of Atenveldt
- Lady Erin – Barony of Twin Moons, Kingdom of Atenveldt
- HL Marciano Dragonette – Kingdom of Caid, Society Waterbearer
- Lady Miriam – Kingdom of Calontir
- Lady Sasha – Barony of Citadel, Kingdom of the Outlands
- Lady Mabel – Kingdom of the Outlands
- Lady Ingrid – Kingdom of the Outlands
- Lady Azia – Kingdom of the Outlands

Special thanks go to:

• Barony of Twin Moons, Kingdom of Atenveldt for running one
of the stations on Saturday and for their generous donation of
beautiful new Waterbearing Bags with the Atenveldt sun.
• Lord Heinrich von Swartzenberg for putting in many hours
each day to help with clean-up and set-up, pulling the Buffalo,
leaving site for several hours to get extra supplies, and general
assistance in pre-War planning
• The Main Autocrats, HL Phineas, Countess Haley and Baroness
Shaylan for their help and support
• Lord Vallawulf Rurikson and HRH Rhodir for setting up the
Main station and being my eyes and ears until I arrived on site.
• Hospitality for keeping us fed when otherwise many of us
would have not had the chance to eat
• Volunteer point for sending whoever they could our way
• And whoever else I may have missed. Please email me if I
have missed anyone.

In Service,

Aurelia Chrysanthina Dalassene
Kingdom Waterbearer
