Offering the opportunity for all veterans of the 198th Light Infantry Brigade - Americal Division - 1967-1971 Vietnam Service to share information, find buddies, keep abreast of projects and reunions of interest. The success of this Group Site during its' first four months of operation opened the door for the creation of the "198th LIGHT INFANTRY BRIGADE VETERANS ASSOCIATION", which took take place at the ADVA Reunion in Kansas City in June 2005. The Association Website "www.198th.org" will hopefully be in operation in the Summer of 2007. As of mid-July, 2005, we have opened our Group Site membership to our latest generation of veterans, and they will be referred to as "Honorary Members of the New Guard" and we old folks are grateful for their perpetuation of our own honorable service.
Any 198th veterans wishing to assume an active role in the new 198th LIB Veterans Association are asked to contact the owner/moderator of this Group Site.
"www.198th.org" will appear as "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" until it is opened for members participation. Visitors to this Group Site, and members, should also view the choice of links we offer to other sites.
Thanks to all of you for your support. Gary Befus-site owner and moderator, and proud Charter member of the 198th LIB, from Ft. Hood through 04 July 1968.
