Saya saat ini sedang ngambil master tahun pertama di Toyohashi Gijutsu
Kagaku Daigaku (TUT), senmon saya kikai system (mechanical
engineering). Apabila tertarik ingin meneruskan kuliah di TUT, anda
bisa membuka website TUT di www.tut.ac.jp. Ada english versionnya kok,
disitu juga ada daftar sensei2 berikut bidang riset mereka, apabila

Simula Research Laboratory has an ongoing project called
  Cardiac Computations which is concerned with developing
  and utilizing efficient simulators for a number of cardiac
phenomena, including electrophysiology and mechanics.

We have an open position at the postdoc level in this group.
The qualifications should include:

The PhD position is opened in the framework of the Intergrated
European project CARBOEUROPE-IP (Assessment of the European
Terrestrial Carbon Balance). The overall aim of the project is an
improved quantification and a better knowledge of the carbon budget
over Europe.


The tasks are to take care of continuous and flask measurements of
CO2 und O2 on atmospheric samples from Jungfraujoch, Puy de Dome (F)
und Griffin (UK). The analyses will be made in close collaboration
with European partners.


Education

Knowledge in Mass Spectrometry and/or Vacuum Technology.

A PhD student position is available at the M.E. Mueller Institute
for Structural Biology (Director Prof. Dr. Ueli Aebi) at Biozentrum
in Basel, Switzerland.

Biozentrum is a leading European research centre affiliated with the
University of Basel, offering an international, highly dynamic
scientific environment. The working language at Biozentrum is
English. The usual duration of the PhD studies is 3 to 4 years.
Attending a number of graduate level courses in required, but most
of time will be spent on your research project.

The project is part of our efforts to establish the
three-dimensional structure of intermediate filaments (IFs).
Together with microtubules and microfilaments, IFs constitute the
filament network found it the cytoplasm of most living cells.
Recently, we have made considerable progress towards determining the
atomic structure of the elementary IF dimer as well as towards
elucidating the IF assembly process (see e.g. Strelkov et al (2002)
EMBO J. 21, 1255-1266; Strelkov et al (2003) Bioessays 25, 243-251).

The task of the PhD project will be to use X-ray crystallography to
solve atomic structures of IF fragments and complexes thereof. This
will include preparation of recombinant proteins, crystallisation
and diffraction analysis. In addition, a number of further
experimental methods, including analytical centrifugation, small
angle X-ray scattering and electron and atomic force microscopies,
as well as computer modelling will also be involved. Ultimately,
preparing scientific papers on your results for publication is
expected.


Education
The successful candidate should have a BSc or MSc degree or
equivalent in molecular biology, biochemistry or biophysics.
Experience with 'wet lab' experimentation as well as a good
theoretical background is a prerequisite. The absolute requirement
is the ability to take responsibility and to work in a team.

Candidates with a background in physics (e.g.theoretical,
statistical,
computational physics) and with an interest in doing
interdisciplinary
research and developing new methods in computer science are
encouraged
to apply for one of the two

PhD fellowships in Computing Science at the University of Groningen,
Mathematics and Computing Science (within the Intelligent Systems
Group).
Generally speaking, the projects concern the application of
statistical
physics methods in the context of machine learning for (a) analysing
and comparing established training algorithms for classification and
regression problems and (b) the development of novel training
procedures.
In one of the projects, the focus will be on the investigation of
prototype-based learning schemes such as \"Learning Vector
Quantization\". Here, the dynamics of the training process can be
investigated. The aim is the development of fast and robust, novel
algorithms. The latter should also be tested in the context of real
world applications.
The second project concerns the important problem of model selection
in
supervised classification or regression.A recently formulated idea
could be applied in the training of multilayered feed-forward neural
networks,but it is not limited to this framework.

Mbak Dian,

Yang saya tahu. namanya translasi akademik itu yang berhak melakukan
ya universitas yang menerbitkan ijazah dan transkrip akademik itu
mbak. jadi benar-benar "official translation".

Kecuali misalkan ijazah SMA/SMU yang memang mungkin tidak punya
fasilitas untu itu di TU-nya,bisa kita men-translate-kan ke lembaga
bahasa inggris semisal ILP,dimana dia memang memperoleh ijin dari
kantor walikota jakarta untuk itu,dan memang ada cap legalitasnya
dimana dia menyatakan bahwa translasi tsb memang sama sesuai dgn
ijasah aslinya.

Maaf,mungkin pendapat saya salah.
Tapi,saya sendiri punya transkrip dan ijazah hasil translasi yang
dikeluarkan oleh institusi saya sendiri.bukan hasil translate-tan
sendiri.

coba search di www.higher-education-compass.com. Hampir seluruh
jurusan di jerman ada di sini, rata2 mencantumkan syarat2 dan
contact person. Ada baiknya melakukan korespondensi (bisa lewat
email) dengan universitas supaya semua syarat terpenuhi. Kalau
berkorespondensi pakai bahasa jerman biasanya dibalas cepat. Pakai
bahasa inggris mungkin agak lama, tapi biasanya tetap dijawab.

setahuku kalau untuk terjemahin ijasah adalah translator tersumpah alias (sworn
translator), biasanya satu lembar 80 - 90 ribuan.

Mba Dian,
Saya punya pengalaman yang sama dengan mba Dian. Ketika itu saya akan mengajukan
lamaran untuk beasiswa Monbukagakusho, dan salah satu syaratnya adalah ijasah
dan transkrip akademik yang harus diterjemakna ke dalam Bahasa Inggris.
Saya kemudian minta ke TU di kampus saya, dan mereka menjawab bahwa berkas
tersebut harus diterjemahkan sendiri, dan lembaga hanya mensahkan saja.
Akhirnya saya terjemahkan sendiri (karena di kota saya tidak ada penerjemah yang
tersumpah) dan dilegalisir ke lembaga. Dan ternyata bisa diterima oleh penyedia
beasiswa, dan saya dipanggil untuk mengikuti seleksi beasiswa tersebut.

Yang saya tahu. namanya translasi akademik itu yang berhak melakukan
ya universitas yang menerbitkan ijazah dan transkrip akademik itu
mbak. jadi benar-benar "official translation".

Kecuali misalkan ijazah SMA/SMU yang memang mungkin tidak punya
fasilitas untu itu di TU-nya,bisa kita men-translate-kan ke lembaga
bahasa inggris semisal ILP,dimana dia memang memperoleh ijin dari
kantor walikota jakarta untuk itu,dan memang ada cap legalitasnya
dimana dia menyatakan bahwa translasi tsb memang sama sesuai dgn
ijasah aslinya.

Maaf,mungkin pendapat saya salah.
Tapi,saya sendiri punya transkrip dan ijazah hasil translasi yang
dikeluarkan oleh institusi saya sendiri.bukan hasil translate-tan
sendiri.

International Women's Media Foundation Announces Fellowship for
Journalists Reporting on Human Rights and Social Justice

Deadline: February 25, 2005

The International Women's Media Foundation invites  applications
for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship, a  new program that
supports women journalists who report on human rights and social
justice issues. The fellowship combines research opportunities
at MIT's Center for International Studies and other Boston-area
universities with reporting opportunities at the New York  Times
and the Boston Globe.

The fellowship is named for a Boston Globe reporter who was a
1998 winner of the IWMF's Courage in Journalism Award. Elizabeth
Neuffer was killed in May 2003 while covering the war in Iraq.
The IWMF has established this  project in collaboration with
Neuffer's family and friends.

The flexible structure of the fellowship will allow the fellow
to design a program that combines academic research with
practical experience covering human rights.  The fellow will
also have a key role in the Elizabeth Neuffer Forum on Human
Rights and Journalism, an annual program to be held in May. The
fellowship will run from  September 2005 to May 2006.

Successful applicants will be dedicated to a career in
journalism in print, broadcast, or Internet media and  show a
strong commitment to sharing knowledge and skills  with
colleagues upon the completion of the fellowship.  Excellent
written and spoken English skills are required. Expenses,
including air fare and housing, will be covered.

I am David Hermawan, Electrical Engineering students
of ITB Bandung.

Having read the mails for few weeks, I find out that
some friends need help to translate their documents.

I have faced this problems two years ago. Then I found
out that ITB Language Center provide translation
service. Their translation is valid and admitted by
most univ abroad. ITB students applying for abroad
univ are really helped by it.

Another reason I chose ITB Language Center is the
price. It's cheaper than other institution.

For friends from outside Java, I have experienced the
difficulties of finding a translation institution that
is admitted by abroad institution.

Jakarta and other big cities do have lots of
translation institutions. But for fellow from outside
Java, don't have to worry if you can afford to go to
Jakarta only for translation. You can use email to
send your documents, and I can help you to process it
here. Save time and money, what do you think?

Halo Nadia.
Saya dengar dari teman2 yang apply ke USA katanya memang tidak ada bea
siswa..tapi kalau sudah menjadi student yang ngambil spesialis saat on call (
jaga ) memang ada uang lelahnya yang dihitung per jam.
Di Kuala Lumpur juga begitu. on call saat week end bisa dapat 100 RM ..1RM =Rp
2395,-
Tapi bea untuk jadi student buat foreigner juga cukup mahal. Dan lagi kita harus
siap mental untuk chatch up ketinggalan teknologi dari mereka. Misalnya kita
ambil spesialis yang banyak butuh alat2 bantu modern..
ok ..selamat hunting bea siswa..kalo ada info tambahan boleh dibagi.

sekedar informasi tambahan, di tempat saya kuliah (Chalmers univ. of
tech di Göteborg), akan ada perubahan kebijakan mengenai biaya kuliah.
kemungkinan tahun depan akan diberlakukan biaya kuliah untuk mahasiswa
baru (untuk menyamakan dengan negara2 uni eropa lain). saya kurang
tahu untuk universitas lain di swedia apakah akan diterapkan juga atau
  belum.

BEASISWA MONBUKAGAKUSHO 2006
PROGRAM RESEARCH STUDENT (S-2 & S-3)
GOVERNMENT TO GOVERNMENT

SYARAT-SYARAT :
1. Usia pada bulan April 2006 di bawah 35 tahun (baik
untuk S-2 maupun S-3).
2. Peserta program S-2 harus sudah menyelesaikan S-1.
Peserta program S-3 harus sudah menyelesaikan S-2.
3. Pelamar harus sehat jasmani dan rohani.
4. Pelamar harus dapat menguasai bahasa Inggris
sehingga dapat menulis rencana tesis dan mengutarakan
pendapatnya pada waktu wawancara.
5. Pelamar diminta untuk menghubungi seorang profesor
di universitas negeri di Jepang sebagai pembimbing
sesuai dengan bidang studi masing-masing. Bidang studi
harus masih sebidang dengan disiplin ilmu sebdumnya.
6. Pelamar tidak diperbolehkan suami istri melamar
bersamaan, harus salah satu. Setelah yang satu selesai
baru yang satu lagi dapat mengikuti beasiswa ini.

Monbukagakusho dan ingin melamar lagi, harus 3 tahun
ada di Indonesia baru boleh mengikuti program ini,
selama usianya masih di bawah 35 tahun pada saat
keberangkatan.
8. Pelamar harus bersedia belajar bahasa Jepang karena
bahasa pengantar di perguruan tinggi Jepang adalah
bahasa Jepang. 9. Khusus bagi pelamar wanita, tidak
boleh hamil pada saat melamar dan selama masa
heasiswa.

FASILITAS YANG DIDAPAT OLEH PENERIMA BEASISWA
MONBUKAGAKUSHO :
1. Lamanya masa Research Student 2 tahun bila
berangkat April, 1 1/2 tahun bila berangkat Oktober.
Masa studi bisa diperpanjang apabila peserta diizinkan
masuk program master atau doktor. Peserta diizinkan
masuk program master selama masa Research Student.
Sedangkan untuk program doktor, peserta harus mendapat
izin dalam tahun pertama masa Reseerch Studentnya.
2. Beasiswa diberikan secara penuh.
3. Biaya transportasi dari bandara Soekarno-Hatta
sampai di bandara Jepang (pergi dan pulang).
4. Biaya asrama.
5. Asuransi kesehatan.
6. Satu mahasiswa satu profesor pembimbing.
7. Bebas biaya ujian masuk, matrikulasi, dan uang
kuliah.
8. Tunjangan kedatangan sebesar ¥ 25.000 pada saat
tiba di bandara Jepang. Besarnya beasiswa ¥ 175.000
per bulan.

CARA PELAMARAN :
Bagi peminat yang berstatus sebagai dosen PTN/PTS,
lamaran diajukan oleh Pimpinan Perguruan Tinggi Asal
(dengan surat pengantar/persetujuan pimpinan perguruan
tinggi) ditujukan ke Direktur Pembinaan Pendidikan
Tenaga Kependidikan dan Ketenagaan Perguruan Tinggi,
Ditjen Dikti, Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan, Jakarta,
dengan melampirkan :

1. Application form Monbukagakusho 2006
2. Copy ijasah dan transkrip nilai dalam bahasa
Inggris/ Jepang.
3. Surat rekomendasi dari perguruan tinggi asal
(dengan mengisi formulir yang tersedia).
4. Letter of Acceprance (L/A) dari profesor pembimbing
universitas negeri di Jepang, formulir tersedia. Untuk
mendapatkan L/A dari profesor, pelamar harus
mengirimkan proposal penelitian dan transkrip nilai
kepada profesor tersebut.

Semua dokumen tersebut mohon dibuat rangkap 5, (3 set
dikirimkan ke Ditjen Dikti dan 2 set berkas asli yang
ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris / Jepang, kecuali Form A,
harus diserahkan kepada bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan
Besar Jepang di Jakarta).

TAHAP PENYELEKSIAN :
1. Tidak semua pelamar dipanggil ujian wawancara.
2. Bagi yang lulus praseleksi akan dipanggil untuk
mengikuti ujian wawancara.
3. Bagi yang lulus ujian wawancara akan
direkomendasikan ke Monbukagakusho
4. Keberangkatan tahap I pada awal bulan April.
Keberangkatan tahap II pada awal bulan Oktober.

Pendaftaran dibuka pada bulan Desember dan ditutup di
Ditjen Dikti pada tanggal 14 Mei 2005.

Lilly Scholarships in Religion for Journalists

Journalists interested in taking college courses in religion or
spirituality may apply for a new scholarship program offered by the
Religion Newswriters Association.

Twenty journalists will receive scholarships for up to $5,000 each to
study religion at any accredited college, university or seminary.
Scholarships cover expenses including tuition, registration fees and
books. Scholarships are funded by a generous grant from the Lilly
Endowment, Inc. to the Religion Newswriters Foundation, RNA's charitable
arm.

Application Deadline: April 1, 2005

FAQ:

1. What is the name of the scholarship program and how is the program
funded?
The Lilly Scholarships for Journalists program is funded by a three-year
grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., to the Religion Newswriters
Association's non-profit charitable arm, the Religion Newswriters
Foundation.

2. What is RNA?
Religion Newswriters Association (RNA) is the premier source for
training journalists about covering religion. Its mission is to help
journalists achieve excellence in writing and reporting on faith,
values, ethics and spirituality in the news media. The national,
non-profit and nonpartisan association was founded in 1949 and has more
than 400 members and subscribers. RNF was created in 1999 to help
support RNA with its programming and funding.

3. Why offer scholarships?
To enhance religion reporting. Through education, reporters can build
knowledge about religious history, trends, training, theology, doctrine
and scriptures. By attending courses in their communities, journalists
can expand their knowledge of religion, resulting in reporters who are
more sensitive to the impact and nuances of faith or develop their
personal spirituality.

4. What do scholarships pay for?
Scholarships cover tuition, registration fees, books, and other
incidental expenses for journalists to take a course in any aspect of
religion at accredited North America colleges, universities or
seminaries. Scholarships are also valid for traditional courses, one to
two week intensive courses or approved distance-learning programs for
those same accredited programs.

5. Are there non-eligible courses?
Programs operated by journalism training organizations or any course not
taught as a course offering at an accredited college, university or
seminary would be considered ineligible.

6. Who is eligible to apply?
Full-time print and broadcast journalists working at general circulation
(or audience), non-religious media outlets are eligible to apply.
Freelance journalists may be eligible but must demonstrate that both a
majority of their time is spent and income is from religion news in
secular media markets. Journalists already in a degree-granting programs
are ineligible as are RNA/RNF employees, selection committee members and
their family members.

7. Do I have to be a member of RNA?
No. However, to learn more about membership click here.

18. How long do I have to use the scholarship?
We expect you to enroll within three months of the notice of acceptance.

19. After I take a class what are my reporting responsibilities?
Applicants are required to submit a brief report detailing their
experience, benefits and challenges, grade in course, and syllabi within
four weeks after grades are received. Additional scholarships will not
be rewarded to the same participant unless the summary report is complete.

20. Why aren't religious journalists eligible?
These scholarships are intended to give journalists a deeper
understanding of religion, so that ultimately the public can benefit by
better, more informed religion reporting in the non-religious news
media. Other programs exist for journalists working in the religious or
denominational media. Although certainly journalists working for the
religious press could benefit from courses in religion, that is not the
specific mission of this program.

21. I'm getting my master's degree in a subject unrelated to religion.
Can I apply?
No. At this time, Lilly Scholarships are intended for journalists who
are not currently in a degree-granting program - no matter what type of
degree.

22. I am attending school and only working part-time. Can I apply?
No. This program is intended to educate full-time journalists and
free-lance reporters who work 20 hours a week writing for the secular media.

23. Can I take my course through auditing?
It depends on the institution and its policy for taking a single course.
We encourage you to look into your school's Adult Education Studies or
Continuing Education Studies program. RNF needs to see a grade at the
completion of the course. We can discuss this with a professor if you
are only permitted to audit after other options have been explored.

24. I live overseas and want to apply for a scholarship. Is that possible?
Only U.S. journalists are eligible to participate in the program at this
time. However, we will monitor the requests from journalists in other
countries and continue to review this policy.

25. Can I take a language course such as Aramaic or Hebrew to help with
my reporting?
If the course is offered through its Religion Studies Department we
would consider the request. Courses such as French, Spanish or German
are not eligible.

26. Can I take four consecutive classes or two per quarter?
You must remain a full-time journalist while you are taking a course.
The course selection must coincide with our application process and
within the stipend cap of $5,000. We ask that you complete one course
before you apply to another.

27. I am a freelance journalist in the secular media. What is my
eligibility?
We ask that you work an average of at least 20 hours a week as a
freelancer and that more than half of your income is from writing in the
secular news media.

28. I cannot access the Adobe Acrobat program and application on my
computer at work.
You may print the application and type or handwrite your information.
There is also a WORD version of the application you may use. Either
version may be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to our offices.

29. If I use my vacation time and travel to another state for a two-week
course, does the scholarship apply?
Yes, this scenario is applicable assuming the $5,000 stipend will meet
your needs.

30. Should I apply now for a class that I want to take later in the year
or wait for the appropriate application period?
We suggest you wait to apply during the application periods of April 1,

months before the course begins.

31. Are classes in either undergraduate or graduate level studies
applicable to the program?
Yes.

32. I work full-time and am finishing my bachelor's degree. Can I apply?
No because you are already in a degree granting program.

33. Is Independent Study applicable to the scholarship funds?
If the Independent Study is approved by the professor and the dean of
the academic department prior to the application process, it would be
considered for the program with written documentation and provided
syllabi. Domestic or foreign travel is not applicable toward Independent
Study.

34. Is domestic or foreign travel covered with the scholarship funds?
If travel is part of the official course syllabus and a required part of
the course, yes. (As a reminder, your status as a reporter must remain
fulltime at your employer.) If travel is self-study, a mission trip,
and/or outside of the syllabus (self-directed), it would not be covered
by scholarship funds.

35. What if I want to take a course and then travel on my own to enhance
my understanding of a particular faith?
Based on your application eligibility you may apply to receive funds for
the course. However travel would be at your own expense.

36. What if I have to travel to another site to take a course?
You would be eligible to apply for reasonable travel expenses not to
exceed the stipend cap assuming your class is applicable to the guidelines.

37. Once the application is accepted what are the next steps?
You will be issued an agreement letter to sign and the stipend check
will be mailed for you to apply to your fees.

Kebetulan saat ini saya sedang ambil S3 di bidang OR juga di
National University of Singapore dan dapat beasiswa dari NUS
Research Scholarship yang mencakup living cost+total research fee.
Untuk lebih jelas buka aja di website-nya NUS (www.nus.edu.sg) terus
lanjutkan ke department Industrial and System Eng.
