The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has leapt into action to support BBC
Children in Need, and pubs nationwide are being urged to follow its lead.
CAMRA is throwing its weight behind this year's charity initiative,
including a "pub call to action" poster inside its mail-out.
The advert is aimed at inspiring pubs to hold fund-raising events on
the night of, and in the weeks leading up to, the Children in Need show on
November 18.
The BBC says that support from pubs has made a significant difference
in the past, and hopes they will contribute even more money this year.
"An event arranged by one pub could enable us to help a group of
disadvantaged children," said the BBC's Jenny Cohen.
Tony Jerome from CAMRA said: "We were happy to do our bit to support
the BBC Children in Need Appeal this year. We really hope that it will help
motivate pubs to get on board."
