I need to make a final decision on the circumference of my new helm.  My head is 23.5" in circumference at the brow line.  0.5" of padding is required.  My helm liner starts at close to 1" of padding when uncompressed but I expect it to compress some as I put the helm on, so I expect it to average close to 0.75".

A circle with c=23.5 has r= 3.74.  Lets round that up to 3.75.  Add 0.75 to that and I get 4.5.
A circle with r=4.5 has c= 28.26.

So should I build the helm with a 28.25 inch brow band, or round up to 28.5, or have I missed the boat completely?
