Hi everyone,

I hope you're all still surviving the winter. Sadly (or luckily) I
have exams and essay to write so am no too fussed that I still can't
get outside.

Anyway, I just wanted to share with you the 2 best items I have
found this month. This is probably most relevant to the newer
members of the population...

Vicky @ Ricci Hair Co (140-10020 101A Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 3G2
(780) 428-0809 - fantastic hairdresser. $47 for a cut and blow dry.

Method - http://www.methodhome.com/ (available in Safeway and
Shoppers Drug Mart) because the chemicals here are different to the
ones used in the UK and this seemed like the best option. It also
looks funky.

They also have some information on green nappies but as yet I don't
need these!

Hope to catch you soon.

Gill

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the invitation but I think Ken, Zoey and I will have to bow out this year.  Ken’s been swamped with Mass Effect extra hours and Sunday is our only “family” time each week now.  Maybe next year!!

Take care,

Jennifer

Hey Lisa!

You know, that sounds like a good idea!  That is, if you are up for hanging with me ….AND my 5 year old (going on 15 year old) daughter too!!! ;)  She is great but can be a handful at times (TOTALLY Ken’s mom’s fault…those inherited Irish stubborn spitfire genes).  He would say I am stubborn too but ………I prefer to blame it on his Mom. J  J  Makes me feel better.

Zoey and I try to keep busy too but it can get lonely, boring and stressful, especially taking on the role of a single parent, which is essentially what I have become. Ugh.  Let me know how your next few Saturdays look and we can try to get together.

Take care,

Jennifer

You can borrow our copy. Do you want me to just send it in with Chris to give to
Brent? Wednesday would be the soonest, since we're finally going to Calgary for
Bevy's passport tomorrow.

Hello, ladies!

It's been such a busy winter, but with the sun looking like it's finally perhaps going to make a good show for a bit (knock wood!), a few of us were thinking it might be fun to have a springtime get-together to shake off the snowy doldrums...and more importantly, celebrate the recent nuptials of Gill Tubb (and BioDude Rohan Knuckey)!

Would perhaps next weekend, May 5/6, work for anyone? With the Mass Effecters still crunching, I'm guessing, say, Sunday afternoon tea on the 6th?

Or any other ideas anyone has would be lovely!

Cheers, and hoping to see everyone soon -

Can we push it to the 14th? I'll still be in NY on the 6th.

Hello, ladies!

It's been such a busy winter, but with the sun looking like it's finally
perhaps going to make a good show for a bit (knock wood!), a few of us were
thinking it might be fun to have a springtime get-together to shake off the
snowy doldrums...and more importantly, celebrate the recent nuptials of Gill
Tubb (and BioDude Rohan Knuckey)!

Would perhaps next weekend, May 5/6, work for anyone? With the Mass
Effecters still crunching, I'm guessing, say, Sunday afternoon tea on the
6th?

Or any other ideas anyone has would be lovely!

Cheers, and hoping to see everyone soon -

Karin

Hi, ladies -

OK, it looks like we have a quorum for a May 6 tea!  Does 2pm sound like a reasonable time?

(Jenny, I was trying to avoid Mother's Day on the 13th, so we will use your welcome return to the frozen north as a reason to have another get-together! Hope you're enjoying The Family Tour down there!)

Thoughts as to locale? We might have enough people that we'd overwhelm Steeps a bit (?) But maybe that's OK...

Cheers,
Karin

I'm good with tea on the 6th. Is anyone opposed to me bringing Anna
with me? She'll be eight months old then and as sweet as ever. I'm
sure John would appreciate if I took her with so he could have some
time for himself.

Pam.

Hi Ladies,

I pulled a couple of tea house options off the Net. I have no idea
of their hours, but we may face the same space
crunch at the Russian Tea Room or Cargo and James as we did at
Steeps. Still, it's nothing we can't address at the time.

Hi there,
Thanks for the list of tea houses. Brent and I have been to cargo and james in strathcona and it is pretty snug. Russian tea house is a good size. Should we try something new?

I've never been to the Russian tea house, but have walked by it on Jasper - and I know it does thee most amazing cakes ever!  So, I'm happy to break the diet (again!) and go there if the majority agrees.

Hi Ladies,

I called the Russian Tea Room and confirmed they are open Sundays
from 12noon to 10pm. If you go to their website you can print off a
coupon for 10% off.

I'm up for wherever, and 2pm sounds fine too.

I just want to submit an official pout that I started this whole thing and now
you're all going to have fun with it when I'm not here :( I definitely want a
repeat date within a month or two (i.e. before I go back to work.)

Hi Ladies

I'm going to be riding a big bike around William Hawrelak Park at 3pm
on the 6th to raise money for Heart & Stroke (anyone want to sponsor
me?) so won't be able to make it either. I can do the Saturday but
this sounds fairly well organised by now.

Sorry -oh!

Gill
