Hello my name is Julie and I'm from Charlotte NC.  I have been claying
off and on for year but only really got into it last year.  I attended
the clay carnival in Vegas last year and I am going again this year.  I
just recently found a group in Charlotte who meet once a month. I even
went to Asheville NC last month with some of my new friends.  It was
someone from there that brought the Cabin Fever Festival to my
attention.  I sent my check off the next day without even looking at
where it was.  I figured Maryland's not that big and I could drive
there.  I thought the list of instructors was fantastic and I am really
excited about the trip.  My question is - Is there a schedule posted
anywhere?  I'd like to know how many days I'd need the hotel for.

Hi all, and thanks for all the great conversation and questions.
Below is the tentative schedule...still trying to work out a few
kinks, but it will help you plan.

FYI - the hotel has a very nice indoor pool and a small fitness
room.  It is adjacent to an Outback Steakhouse and there is free
shuttle service to the local shopping (Michael's nearby).

In my experience, the men (who, admittedly, are the vast

The class descriptions look so neat! I had to print them out to share
with my family when I head home for Thanksgiving. I'm trying now to
remember how I ranked my order of instructors (I know I wrote it down
somewhere, but I have to find it- somewhere......). I am so excited
that I'll be getting to learn some of these techniques. Thank goodness
it's holiday time, so that'll help to distract me from counting down
until February! :)

Hi Vanessa, I agree, what fun we're going to have.  I hope we get our
class assignments and list of supplies, clay, materials before
Christmas, it would make great items to put on my list for Santa (i.e.
DH or family members), LOL.  I just wish we could fit all the classes
in, I keep thinking (whining to myself), but I want "THAT ONE",
too. . ., I could learn so much from that person. . . Oh well, there's
still plenty to learn in a short amount of time, it sounds like.  Hope

Hello all,

I hope that you are recovering from a wonderful Thanksgiving filled
with visits with family, friends, and lots of good food.  I have
spent the weekend cleaning, getting ready for some shows, and
visiting family...a good time.

For all who have submitted their registration forms,
congratulations ... you are confirmed in your choice of workshops #1
through #5 choices ... it pays to register early!  But, to you
others who haven't yet registered, we are filling up FAST!  Now's
the time to ask for a special holiday gift from your loved ones...a
trip to Maryland and CFCF 2008!  It's going to be fun, fun, fun!
Please note that registration fees will increase January 1, 2008, so
be certain to fill out your form and get it in soon!

The SWAP IS ON!  We had a difficult time deciding, so you have two
choices if you want to participate. Hearts for (post-) Valentines'
Day or masks for Mardi Gras.  We anticipate having approx. 70-80
participants including instructors, so make as many or as few as you
want to trade.  If making hearts, I ask that you make one extra to
be donated for the Hearts for Heros collection for my next visit to
Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Also, about the pajama party...prizes will be awarded for cutest
jammies, rattiest robe, and funniest slippers! And you will have an
opportunity to compete with others for donated items...let's see who
goes home with the most!

Finally, a few of you have written me regarding hotel reservations.
For those looking to economize and share rooms, please post here to
the group and let people know how to contact you.  If you contact
the Holiday Inn at 301-776-5300 and have problems getting the
reservations at the prices specified, please ask to speak with
Wuanika (Wha-nee-kah) and she will be able to help you out.

Hi, Kathryn, Happy Holidays, to you, also.  Santa (aka DH) has already
tiven me the trip to CFCF, but I still need supplies.  Do you have
supply/clay/materials lists from the instructors yet (or can you get
them?)  That would be top of my list for the Santas in my life, so I
can be sure to bring what I need for my classes (including the
type/brand of clay each instructor prefers and how much and in which
colors, and how they want them prepared).  Believe it or not, this
month will fly by (at least with as much as we have planned) and then
it will be time to come to CFCF and I want to be sure to have all my
supplies together.

Hi Kathryn, thanks for the posting...I am so excited. When I made my
reservations I was told that there were no more rooms left in the
block of rooms at the price (I don't remember the price quoted) and
that the only rooms available were over $125. I made my reservations
and figured something would work out. Should I call back and ask to

Yes...please call back and speak with Wuanika. I have spoken with her
and she asked that anyone having problems speak with her directly.
When you call, be certain to mention Cabin Fever Clay Festival in Feb.
2008 and mention my name.
