I wanted to drop a quick note and tell you
all 'thanks' for allowing me to come and teach, and
for being so open and ready to learn! Everyone in my
two workshops was eager to take on this new
technique; you all dove right in and did a beautiful
job...

Thanks to Kathryn and her 'crew' for their efforts.
I'm so honored to have been a part of this wonderful
event.

There were many of you that I didn't have an
opportunity to say goodbye to.....Judy H. and Kathy
Elrick, to name a few..hugs to you!

I hope you all have an early and lovely spring...it's
feeling that way here in SLC, and I love it! Nothing
like hearing those birds chirping and watching them
scurry around building nests...I love new beginnings!

Hey Kathryn,

Thanks so much for a great CFCF. You have pulled it off again. A
great time was had by all.

Thanks for letting me stay in your room for Friday and Saturday
nights. You just don't know how much that meant to me.

Sorry I didn't help you more. But I do appreciate every thing you
did and do.

I left at 6am on Thursday to make it to the hospital in Salisbury for
the birth of my niece. My niece is perfect. Luckily. Her name is
Camryn Bailey. She was born on Feb. 26 at 10:43am. 7 lbs. 6.4 oz.,19
1/2" long. She had light brown hair and blue eyes. I think. I
haven't gotten to see them much. She sleeps all day and is up all
night. My brother and sister-in-law aren't getting much sleep.

I wish I could have been at the Q&A meeting to get all the feedback.
How did it go?

Talk to you soon.

Hugs,
Ann

HI, Donna.

Thanks for your help in making this possible as well, Donna. YOu and
Ann along with Barbara K. made it special for those who needed
transportation to and from the airport.

Special thanks to our instructors: Christi, Lisa, Jana, Julie, Kim,
Lynne Ann, Sarah, Tony, and Tory and our pre-conference instructors,
Kelly and Nan...they all made it special for the CFCFers---providing
special care and attention to all...signs of great teachers!

Plans are already in the works for next year's event with a theme
of "Welcome to Hollywood!" We also have tentative plans in the works
for our Southwest and Midwest event as well as a possible cruise from
Baltimore to Bermuda in 2010. Stay tuned to this yahoo group and the
www.polymerclayfests.wordpress.com site for more info.

Take care and happy claying! See you at clay day on the 7th!

Thanks again for joining us. By the way, Spring weather was here for

heading our way with possible snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Oh,

Hi Kathryn,

Frances and I would like to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone for making us feel so welcome last week. We had a great time, loved the workshops and demos and will always remember the trio of desserts at 'Outback'!! Thanks to the tutors,  Ann and Donna for collecting us from BWI and to Kathryn and her team for the brilliant organisation.

On Thursday afternoon we took a cab to Baltimore and had a lovely lunch on the harbour in the sunshine before returning to BWI for our overnight flight. We hope to go to Synergy next year and would love to be at CFCF 2010 too!

Thanks again,

Alison.

There are a couple of resources out there for color mixing, although
they may not be specifically for clay. PANTONE color mixing guides are
the best known and most widely used color guides used throughout the
world including fashion, interior design, printing, etc.

Here are a few links...

I have also uploaded some color trend info and a color mixing guide I
found on the net from Gail Richey...take a look and happy mixing!

Glad you made it back to the UK safe and sound. We truly enjoyed
having you here as well and hope to see you again at CFCF 2010 if not
sooner. We hope that you both felt it was worth your while to travel
this far across the Atlantic to visit your distant relatives here in
the good ol' US of A! Sending you both big hugs...see you soon,

First, thanks to you all who attended CFCF 2009...I truly hope that you

talented instructors who delivered over and above... and I gratefully
thank them as well. We already have plans in the works for events
later this year in other areas of the country and for CFCF 2010 for

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

I'd greatly appreciate if you could send along a disk with photos from

will be credited for the photo. In particular, I need copies of the
group photo taken at the party, photos of your's and other's work,

the instructors. If this is too much, just send along all of those you

I need these as soon as possible, so please email me at

Thank you, Cheryl.  I found a reference for Rita Pope's Q & A session about multiple strand necklaces.  From one of my beading design books, they recommend the following:

If the necklace is to be in the 16-18 inch range, the increments should be 1 inch.  If it is to be 20 inches or longer, 2 1/2 inches is a good increment for the layers.

Hope this helps.

I also would like to give my things to the instructors, Kathryn and her crew and the great folks who attended CFCF2009.  Looking forward to next year already.
Kathryn, I will try to download my pictures tonight to see if there is anything you can use.

Hi everyone!
I was exhausted when I got home. I felt like a kid while being there at CFCF.
Thank you everyone for making it fun for us first timers.
Here is my short story since I got home:

After coming home and sleeping for 36 hours, we started getting rain, then ice
then the snow began Saturday evening. Sunday we just watched from inside. Come
Monday morning we began digging our way out. We had everything go wrong, so it
was not until Tuesday mid day that we could begin our adventure down the
mountain. After our snow plow, which really is not attached properly and not
working in the up and down modes, plowed snow higher than our truck, we had to
call in a front end loaded to come find us. We had drifts over 4' high. Then
the truck blew its tire chains trying to get us back to the house, so it is
"stuck" half way down the mountain, then the ATV decided to stop running near
the top, so that was just a small hike hom. ( We have a mile long driveway that
works it way up to the top of a mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains of
southwest Virginia.) So, Wednesday morning we set out and lo and behold, with
the Lord's blessings, we got down to the bottom and we have access to the world
again. It is absolutely gorgeous here. The snow still comes over my boots and
we still have to walk the 'puppy' due to his broken toe.
Today I am determined to get all my clay and supplies unpacked. I am anxious to
put together some of Kim Korringa's flowers, all those skinner blends I came
home with from her class are calling me.

Once again thanks to Kathryn and all the teachers, workers, and volunteers that
put that week together! Fabulous time together!

until later-

I can not make it this month but would like to be reminded of your meetings.  I would like to attend but never know with my schedule.  I figure I live a solid 6 hours from you, so it would take some coordinating on my part to get there.

I am very interested in being involved with guild or something like that.  If there were enough people in my area, I would be willing to help get something started.  I am in the back country of southwest Virginia.  About an hour from Roanoke heading into the Blue Ridge Mountains.  I basically live where the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hwy 8 cross in Floyd County.

If you live in the area and are interested in attending, please come join us at the Howard County Library in Savage, MD from 12:30-6PM. We will review the Cabin Fever Clay Fest, have some demos, and all around fun. Join us if you are able!

The address is 9525 Durness Ln, Laurel, MD and their phone number is (410) 880-5975. I believe Donna will be there early to set up. We hope to see you there!

Where did Lisa Pavelka say we could find that UVA light she puts her magic gloss
under to cure?

I am wanting to give it a try. I am intrigued with the process Lisa showed us.

Here's a quick peak at some of the little masterpieces that were exchanged last
Wednesday night at our event party. What do you think?

HI, Teri.

I'm certain you can get them from Lisa (she sold a couple at the Fest as well.)
I think they are UV nail lamps that are used in nail salons with their nail gel.
You might also want to check with your local nail salon or beauty supply company
if you have one near by. Start with Lisa, though.
