Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her …{ Genesis 30;22 }
 
Rachel spent many years watching all the woman of her household bare children
and seeing them raised in the arms of their mothers .Yet , she had to endure
being childless for many years and being without the comfort and joy of being a
mother ..Rachel envied her sister , ..
{Genesis 30;1}
She was very jealous of her sister , and of those who had children of their own
.She was so jealous and angry of her own state ,she exclaimed and said to her
husband ; “Give me children or else I die ! “{ Genesis 30;1 }
 
How many of us are feeling like Rachel ? Give me this or that or else I will die
! We begin to envy everybody else who has what we want or desire to the point of
anger and frustration .In our desperation and frustration we attempt to
accomplish and make our own happiness and fail to wait upon the Lord . In our
attempt to create our own happiness we make matters worse and only become more
frustrated and uneasy .
God often has to wait until we give up ! When we realize we cannot ever
accomplish what only he can do .For without me you can do nothing { John 15;5 }.
 
Many of us have to go through some dark experiences of our own making to realize
this fact .God lets us go our own way and allows us to experience failure ,great
frustration , and pain because we have this tendency to think that we have the
power to do it ! Through the experience he weakens us to the point of exhaustion
,of complete weakness and failure and heartache. Only so that we no longer dare
to trust in ourselves .He has to deal with some us very harshly and take us
through difficult and painful ways ,in order to get us there .
He will take you to the end of yourself .To the end of your schemes .To the end
of your own self-sufficiency .To the end of your self-confidence .To the end of
your power .To the end of your cleverness and ingenuity .To the end of self
!.For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells.{ Romans 7;18
}
 
He will keep taking you there until you realize you are nothing ! And apart from
him ,you can do nothing ! But how hard is this lesson for us mortals who think
we are so smart and clever .With all our technology , education and humanistic
philosophy we have become God’s because we have eaten from the tree of
knowledge of good and evil .Then the serpent ,The Devil said ; For God knows
that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil." { Genesis 3; 5 }
 
And some still believe the lie that they are a God who can create their own
happiness and can live independently without him .Even those of us who have
trusted in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must realize that without
him we can do nothing .
And know that God controls our lives and we are dependant on him and must not
act apart from him in doing this or that .We must not get angry because things
are not happening according to our time table or envy those who have .But must
remember Jacobs words who said to his wife ; “ Am I in the place of God ,who
has withheld from you ..{ Genesis 30;2 }
What has God withheld from you ? Be patient , and seek not or attempt not to
make it happen , continue to pray and ask God for it .He will accomplish it in
due time .Be dependant on him and wait on him continually .For the needy shall
not always be forgotten; The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.{
Psalm 9;18 }the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed..
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. {Psalm
62;5 }
Then God remembered Rachel and God listened to her and opened her womb …And
she conceived and bore a son ,and said ,” God has taken away my reproach “.
{ Genesis 30; 22-23}
 
God does hear you , God remembers and listens to you so be faithful and patient
