This list covers the following topics: Scratch-building of model masters in a variety of materials, such as styrene, brass, wood, whatever. Production of masters using various Rapid Prototyping methods, CNC machining, 3-D scanning and printing, or any other appropriate industrial method, along with discussion of the various software packages and CAD services available to casters. Making molds out of various materials, including RTV rubber, plaster, epoxy, etc. (anything goes) Casting of the resulting molds in plaster, polyurethane plastics, low-temperature metals, etc. The list is specifically aimed at modelers and hobbyists in any area, or industrial casters, who wish to create their own models or parts from scratch and duplicate them. It will cover techniques, materials, and other auxiliary topics, such as photo etching, vacuum forming, sculpture casting, suppliers, etc. I know this seems like a very broad reach of topics, but many of these areas are interrelated in various ways, and many different combinations of techniques and methods are possible in order to produce a given part. A check of the archives for reference to your topic is strongly suggested before posting, since some topics have been covered numerous times.
