"Cape Town mayor Helen Zille has become too big for her boots too soon, parliamentarians (MPs) have been told.

The former Democratic Allinace (DA) memeber of parliament who now wears Cape Town's mayoral chain was the subject of a personal attack by African National Congress (ANC) MP Mampe Ramotsamai during debate on the Public Works budget vote in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Reacting to Zille's freeze on the proposed stadium at Green Point, Ramotsamai said: "She must realise that this power that she has, it's just for a short time.""
