This group has been formed to look into ways of promoting alternative energy ideas in Chelan County, WA. One idea is to design and build a community photo-voltaic solar array, similar to what has been done already in Ellensburg, WA. Those who contributed to funding the project, get money back from the power it produces. This group is also interested in helping educate county residents on how they might personally implement alternative energy solutions at their own homes. We are also interested in lobbying the PUD for assistance with various aspects of these projects, including ways of making grid-tied systems easier to implement. This is not just about solar, but also wind, geo-thermal, and all forms of alternative energy.
