Description

The purpose of the Cisco Civic Association is to promote and protect the mutual interests of the property owners and residents of the area of Nantucket, Massachusetts commonly known as Cisco. This includes acting to preserve the residential character of Cisco and to promote betterments and improvements as well as taking steps to preserve the unique natural enviornment of the area whenever possible and to cooperate with the Town, the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and other property owners toward this end.

The asociation also works to provide a medium through which the residents of Cisco meet and discuss matters of common interest affecting their community and their common welfare.

The Civic Association is open to all land and homeowners in the Cisco neighborhood who pay annual dues of $25 in order to vote at the annual meeting on issues that may arise concerning the association's management of the neighborhood. All home and land owners in the area are also asked to contribute $150 per year to the road fund which is for plowing, grading and otherwise maintaining the private roads in the area.

I watch the speeders (not only beach goers, but the landscapers, taxis, and other workers and, sadly, some of our own residents) on Westerwyck from the windows
