Bonjour Cher! Welcome to the LOUISIANA CREOLE RESEARCH Group. Commonly known as CREOLEGEN, we are dedicated to genealogical and historical research as it relates to the Creole people of Louisiana. We welcome all Creoles however, our focus is on black Creoles and Creoles of Color. There are black Creoles, who are descended from Creole slaves of more-or-less African descent and Creoles of Color, who for the most part are descended from "gens de couleur libre" or free people of color of more-or-less mixed ancestry.
