Well fam, the day is finally here. Many of you are looking forward to
going home or to be some place where you'll be showered with cards,
candy and flowers, as today is Valentine's Day. While
some of you are fortunate to have someone in your life, many of you
are single by choice, lonely or simply could care less about
Valentines Day. Well, whatever the case may be, I would like to say
one important thing. If you desire to be loved and treated special on
a certain, annual calendar date, rather than give love, show love and
be loved 365 days of the year, well you should understand why the
world is in the condition it is today. So before you go home and
under-appreciate what someone "did not do," or what you "don't have"
or "didn't get," just remember that before you can love someone else,
you must love yourself. If you love yourself, you have the greatest
Valentines Day present that no-one could ever offer or give to you.

Yman Feature: Love Don't Love Nobody! -- A True story

It was approximately 11:28pm and the night was perfect. I can still
remember the weather. The wind was breezing and the humidity was just
right. This was the night I promised to let go of my pride. I can't
lie, I was still in love with her. But not that ol' typical "I don't
want to be by myself love." No sir, it was much deeper. To explain it
in detail, it was that kind of love that made me feel that the world
was made just for me and her. It was the kind of love that make you
come close to getting fired from your job because you just hate to
leave her side. It was that kind of love that make you say to
yourself "Got D*mn, what the f*ck is this chick doing to me." Yes, I
the Yman was lost in love. But there is another side...

Being the man that I am, I'd always had problems expressing my love
in relationships. Although I've inherited genes and traits that have
given me the integrity to settle down and be faithful, for some
reason, I've always held back from giving my all in relationships. I
guess I kind of expect for my mates to pick up on it through some
type of spiritual bond that true soul mates are suppose to have with
each other. Just like with most men, the pride factor can be
devastating. Honestly, deep inside I was afraid to show this
magnificent lady how much I loved her although I felt that she was
the perfect mate for me.

For some reason I just could not be the complete sensual brotha that
her heart so muched desired. What makes matters even worse, for the
first time in my life, I was celebrating financial freedom. I had
been struggling for years to get my foot in the right door and I had
suffered severely in the process. Therefore, I just wanted to spend
some time to myself for awhile and put the pieces back together in my
life. Yes I know it sounds crazy but... I called the relationship
off. Why? I felt that if she truly felt the same way I felt about
her, she would be more understanding and realize that I have a lot of
soul searching to do. Besides, I had to stay on top of my new
profession and reorganize my life. I wasn't thinking about trying to
be a player and see a bunch of women. No, I just felt that I needed
to prepare myself for the rest of my life and I wouldn't be able to
do that with her around. Why? Because I was totally addicted to her.
I could not focus when she was around. Spending quality time with her
is an understatement, this lady controlled the hands and the dial on
my clock. I was gone... I mean straight lost in her!!!

This added to the reason why I called the relationship off. I felt
things were too good to be true. I was in love and paranoid at the
same time. I was always asking myself... is this the moment when the
tables are turned and I get payed back for all the hurt I dished out
to so many females. I was constantly telling myself... don't slip Y,
don't slip!

Not truly understanding what had just happen (when a guy flips the
script on a female) she suddenly went into withdrawal. She did not
want to be friends and she turned into a totally different person. It
was like hidden evil had come to surface. It was a terrible scene. I
explained to her that I just needed some space because I wasn't use
to letting my guards down and the feelings that I had for her were
like nothing I've ever felt. I tried my best to explain to her that I
had to fix some things with myself so that I could be the perfect man
for her and I explained that I had no desire to see other females. I
also explained to her that I had to stay on top of my career because
the stakes were so high at the moment not including the fact that I
was dealing with a lot of pressure. However, she was still upset and
unforgiving. She stopped taking my calls and her relatives and
friends turned against me.

Why did I mess up a good thing? Maybe I could answer that if I had
the answer to why love don't love nobody. After weeks of being apart,
I was still feeling incomplete without her. I was always thinking of
her and wondered if she would sometimes think of me. During the
departure, I never tried to contact her again. Then one day,
something came over me. I took a good look at myself and started
reflecting on my whole life. At that moment, it hit me. I suddenly
woke up. Oh sh*t I said in frustration, I just threw away the best
thing that ever happened to me. I have to go fix this in a hurry I
thought to myself. Emotionally paranoid but excited at the same time,
I popped open the exclusive closet. After getting dabbed up (uptown
slang), I had to slow down and make sure I wasn't forgetting
anything. So I sat on the side of the bed and thought... let me call
first and see if she's there. So I grab the 007 cell phone, you know
the one with the fake "DC Lotto" text that appear on the caller ID
and the fast busy if they try to hit you back (black people will
answer the phone if they think they getting some money). She answered
on the third ring and I hung up immediately. I raised up and left my
house as if I was going to conquer the world.

Here it goes, the journey to forgiveness and reconciliation, I'm
hoping. I'm feeling nervous but I'm feeling confident. What do you do
in a moment like this? You gotta pop in some mood theme music. What
better to pop in the cd changer than some good ol' classic Soul II
Soul. Ahhhhh, I sigh with a smile as I find that Volume 2, A New
Decade is in the changer. Track 9 it is, "The Heat Of The Night"
groove is on point as if it was the soundtrack to the action I was
about to take. (as you can see, I'm a cool azz dude. No need to brag,
no need to boast, it's just a fact... I am cool azz dude) Okay, I'm
siced and I know I'm going to get my girl back are thoughts that
continually run through my head. What!!!

After having all kinds of thoughts during the drive over, I finally
reached her driveway. Like a drive by in a gangsta movie, I cut the
lights off because I don't want her to see me. I want to surprise
her. Man, I'm nervous like a muther, can you believe it? But here it
goes...

I pull up and start walking towards her door. I noticed the basement
lights were on and the venetian blinds are open just barely enough to
see inside. I looked to see if it's her. Ahhh sh*t, ahhh sh*t, I yell
silently within, I can't believe it!!! There she is pulsating and
gliding up and down... up and down, over and over and over again!!!!
She was riding him just like she would ride me as if passion was
deeply involved. Who in the f*ck is that, he's going to die, I
silently cried inside. I was in severe pain. I was emotionally going
crazy. I knew this was the moment where I was going to throw my life
away. I went back to my car and just starting thinking more and more
evil thoughts. This was the end!

Then he came. Yes it was him! God had arrived. I remember going
through so much stuff in my life that I use to think of God like...
if he's real, he's real, if he's not, he's not. I was shaped into
that way of thinking because I had been through so much turmoil in my
life, that I had given up hope. But then he spoke.... He said son, I
love you and I want you to know that I have been here for you all
along. When others have persecuted you and spoke your name in hatred,
I kept your head up. When you were weak, I made you strong. It is I
who walk with you and protect you. The next thing you know, this
voice that scared the hell out of me, all of a sudden just went on
mute as if it had vanished in thin air. After coming out of a frenzy
state of mind, I started the car and I headed back home. I was
confused and angry but I love myself, so I knew that I would get
through this pain.

Not able to sleep, my body and my mind felt like it was severely
sick. I was going through a metamorphis of some sort. Suddenly,
eveything started getting clearer and clearer. Then I recognized what
had just happened. I had just become a man. Through infliction I
brought upon myself by hurting someone else, what I had dished out,
returned and reshaped me by allowing me to see something that I
needed to understand. And that message was... NEVER HURT THE ONE YOU
LOVE!!!

Sure, she may have turned out to be a stank azz, based on the fact
that she was screwing some dude after only being apart for a few
weeks. Yeah, I know real love would not allow you to take things to
such a drastic measure in such a short period of time. I also know
that making an excuse for her such as... "maybe she was hurting" is
bullsh*t too. However, being the man that I am now, I have to look at
it like this... maybe I was not 100% correct with the approach I took
in the beginning, but I was honest in what I wanted and needed. I
know that I did not deserve what I got back in return. But to be
straight up with you, it was good that this happened to me because
now I know the other side of the game. Love don't love nobody!!!
There are either "two" winners, or none. No one comes out on top
alone. Be true to yourself and recognize this as it is a lesson you
can learn from.

Til this day, my ex don't know what I saw. Like they say, lord knows
and so do I. I wish her the best. As for me, I'm a survivor. Next!

Continue to strengthen the black family my people. Don't let one or
several bad experiences stop you from being the good person that you
are. Listen up lesbians! Listen up independent women! Sh*t happens!!!
You won't see me turning gay and you won't see me acting like I'm so
independent that I don't really have time for a lady in my life.
Don't let pain confuse you and lead you to think that you must do
something out of character. Identify with yourself. Anyone can use
and abuse someone, but it takes a confident person with great esteem
to love all over again. Got it? Good!

Wassup sir, it's TC aka Tommie Collins aka TeDo EscobArR, aka
TC@....  First of all, congratulations on all of your
recent success, I think you are doing a great job in the democratic
race and I hope you go ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE.   Speaking of
which, if you DO end up in the White House, it will be an honor to say
that I witnessed the part of history where a Black Man was elected as
the President of the United States.   Also, if you make it to the
white house, I have a list of things that I need you to take care
of….nothing big, just some things that need to be handled, and I don't
think Bush would understand if I gave him this same list that I am
going to give you.  Here's the list:

1) Destroy BET and VH1:  These two channels are killing our youth, I
think Flava Flav should be treated the same as Osama Bin Laden.  I
also would like for you to implement a National program to bring back
Soul Train and keep The Wire on for at least 3 more seasons.

2) I think you should keep Condoleezza Rice around, but give her a
makeover: that 1979 Dionne Warwick hairstyle she has is killing our
foreign relations.

3) Please develop some new fuel for us to run our cars on.  Gas is too
high and I'm ready to start knocking off Exxon's and Mobile's just to
get some free Premium.

4) Please pass a new bill that makes it legal in all 50 states for an
adult to WHUP a random kids A$$ for doing something they should not be
doing.  It takes a village, and I'll be glad to hand out butt
whuppings all over the blue line.

5) I need you to re think this whole "NASA" program.  Billions of
dollars are spent to go up in space and look at stuff.  I think you
should cut that program in half, and use some of that $$ on things
that we need to be putting an end to HERE ON EARTH, like global
warming, the homeless, and 13 year old little girls popping their
booty on youtube.

6) the following people are menaces to society and should be arrested
and placed in prison for life:

What do Martin Luther King Jr, The Rolling Stones, Kanye West and Jesus all have in common?  They all had GROUPIES.  The word "Groupie" isn't limited to white girls who follow rock bands all over the country and let the whole band smash them off and post the footage on youtube.  It can also represent someone who's sole mission in life is to surround themselves with celebrities in an attempt to "come up" at there expense.  When you go to the V.I.P. room at your favorite club and see a gang of thirsty, scantly clad ladies (and/or men) crowded around a Football or Basketball player's table, you're looking at the typical groupie setup.  Don't laugh though, some of you reading this article right now are products of a successful groupie scheme that happened back in the 70's or 80's.  There is a science to being a groupie, and also a social stigma attached to the name.  However, groupies are needed, and in many instances their loyalty pays off.

Nowadays everyone wants to be a superstar.  Groupies are now a staple of the entertainment industry, and have morphed from overzealous fans, to video vixens and internet models.  Many of their blogs and `groupie recaps" are a great source of promotion and could be very beneficial for business!!  With this in mind, Robin Lyon (a marketing guru from Washington, DC) has come up with "Baller Alert:" a service that informs it's users of when Professional Ball Players, Actors, or other Entertainers have arrived into parties.   I almost chalked it up as being a hot ghetto mess, but then I sat down and talked to Robin about it, and saw it as a genius business venture:

TC: So Robin Lyon, tell me about this new phenomenon "Baller
Alert"

Robin: Baller Alert is a phone based text service that provides
real time text alerts with the who's who of the club scene. The text
service is free of charge and will keep you notified when "BALLERS" step
into the hottest parties.
Robin: It's Groupie Love at its finest!

TC: LOL groupie love huh?

TC: So how did you come up with this idea?

Robin: It happened a long time ago. I was working the door at VIP
club on F Street.  Michael Jordan played for the Wizards at the time
and he came to the club early. We were broadcasting live on the radio
and the host at the time said "Michael Jordan is in the building" and I
swear to you, an hour later it was 1000 ladies trying to get in the
door of theVIP room.

Robin: I said to myself "This is crazy!" It was like an alert went
out. LOL

TC:A true "baller alert!"
TC: Wow

Robin: Yes sir!!!

TC: So does this service work on pre paid phones too?  Some
groupies have terrible credit.

Robin: You are terrible TC. We are not going to call them groupies,
we are going to call them "fans". It will work if they have the text
messaging service on their phone.

TC: Is this service just for black celebs, or will Latinas in
Langley park be notified when Menudo walks into the doors on the "Grande
Taco" on a Friday night?

Robin: You are cracking me up fool! Is Menudo even still singing? I
use to love them on Saturday mornings. Anyway, it's for the BALLERS
- celebrities, athletes, and anyone that you consider important.

TC: Ok bet.  Overall, I think this is a great idea, I can see
promoters and club owners trying to get at you, have you worked out any
deals yet?

Robin: Yes as of now, they can promote free of charge on the site.
I can't reveal the rest of our deal. :)

TC: Do you make the celebrities aware that they have been
spotted, and the baller alert has been sent out?

Robin: No I haven't made them aware of that. We are in the times of
the bloggers, and camera phones. It's no privacy anymore anyway.

TC: yeah I have heard after the fact many times about how off
the hook a party was...I guess with this alert now folks can be where ever
the hotness is!

Robin: Yes I remember one night at Eyebar, R Kelly came and sung
for 30 minutes. People hate hearing who was at the party after the fact. So this allows them to hurry up and get down to the spot if they want to see their favorite
star.

TC: Do you think a lot of men will use your service?
TC: (No homo).

Robin: Men should sign up for this service too. It's not just for
the ladies. We will alert men when the ladies come through - for example,
Gabrielle Union, Beyonce (yeah right), and all of ya'll baby mommas.

TC: LOL a baby momma alert might make you a millionaire lol

Robin: You right about that! By me working at the door, and me
