BELIEF IN THE PROPHETS

Hadrat Imam-i Rabbani says in the 17th letter of the third volume of his Maktubat:

Having mercy upon His born slaves, Allahu ta’ala sent them prophets ‘alaihim-us-salawatu wa-t-taslimat’. Through them He guided His born servants to the right way, to the way of endless bliss, and called His born servants to Himself. He invited them to Paradise, the place for His consent and love. Man is so poor, but he will not accept the invitation of such a giver of favours, as He is. Man is very stupid and deprives himself of His blessings. All the information which those great people communicated from Allahu ta’ala is true. It is necessary to believe all of it.

Though mind is a means for finding out the truth and what is good, it cannot find it alone, for it is insufficient. It has been completed with the coming of prophets ‘alaihim-us-salawatu wa-t-taslimat’. There is no excuse, no pretext left for men. The first of the prophets is Hadrat[1] Adam, and the last one is hadrat Muhammad Rasulullah ‘alaihi wa alaihim-us-salawatu wa-t-taslimat’. It is necessary to believe in all the prophets. All of them should be known as innocent (sinless) and true. To disbelieve one of them means to disbelieve all of them. For all of them communicated the same iman. That is, the essentials, the bases of the things to be believed in, were the same in all of their religions. In contrast to one of their wrong credal tenets, Hadrat Isa (Jesus) did not die. When Jews wanted to kill him, Allahu ta’ala raised him alive up to Heaven. At a time towards the end of the world he will descend to Damascus from Heaven and will follow the Shari’at[2] of Muhammad (alaihissalam). Hadrat Khwaja Muhammad Parisa, one of the great Awliya educated by Hadrat Bahaaddin-i Naqshibandi Bukhari, a great Awliya[3], a diver into the ocean of tasawwuf[4], says in his book Fusul-i sitta, "Hadrat Isa will descend from Heaven, will act according to the madhhab[5] of Imam-i Abu Hanifa, will say halal[6] about what he said was halal, and will say haram[7] about what he said was haram."

GLOSSARY
[1] Hadrat: title of respect used before the names of great people like and Islamic scholars.
[2] Shari’at: (pl. of Shari’a) i) rules and commandments as a whole of the religion. ii) religion.
[3] awliya: (pl. of Wali) a person loved by Allahu ta’ala.
[4] tasawwuf: (Islamic sufism as defined by Islam) knowledge and (after adapting oneself to fiqh) practice of the manners of the Prophet (‘alaihi ‘s-salam) which strengthens iman, makes the practice of fiqh easy and provides one to attain ma’rifa; ‘ilm at-tasawwuf. [See the book Maktubat by Ahmad al-Faruqi as-Sirhindi (rahmatullahi ta’ala ‘alaih)].
[5] madhhab: all of what a profound ‘alim of (especially) Fiqh (usually one of the four-Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanbali) or iman (one of the two, namely Ash-ari, Maturidi) communicated.
[6] halal: (act, thing) permitted in Islam.
[7] haram: an action, word or thought prohibited by Allahu ta’ala.

Work for your world as though you would never die. And work for your hereafter as if you were going to die tomorrow.
Hadith-i-sharif

'One should carefully choose whom to love, and share the love accordingly'

'What is important is whom you are with, not who you are.'

'Kalam-i kibar, kibar-i kalamast.'

There are many narrations of predecessor Masha'ikh approximately 100 years before the birth of Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A'zam Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho who foretold that shortly there will be born in 'Ajam [non-Arab state] a person who will announce that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya-Allah. On his announcement, all the Awliya will place their heads under his feet and enter the shadow of his sacred feet.

AlaHadrat Imam Ash-Shah Ahmad Rida Khan al-Qadiri have quoted many narrations and annotations in this regard from which 11 (Eleven) will be presented below in accordance to the Qadiri number (11) with a hope that the Sublime Lord SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala will bless us with the Barakaat of both the Worlds... in sha ALLAH!!

O Ghaus! You hold a place of prominence | Your feet are above others heads in eminence

NARRATION # 1 to 4:

Hadrat Imam Abul-Hasan 'Ali bin Yusuf Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho narrates from Abu-Muhammad Salim bin'Ali Damyati Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and he narrates from six illustrious Mashi'ikh who were the Sufi Masters of Iraq. They were Hadrat Abu-Tahir Sar'sari, Shaykh Abul-Hasan Hafaf Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, Shaykh Abu-Hafs Buraydi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, Shaykh Abul-Qasim 'Umar al-Dardani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, Shaykh Abul-Walid Zayd bin Sa'id Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and Shaykh Abu-'Amar 'Uthman bin Sulayman Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho. They informed him that Hadrat Abul-Faraj 'Abdur-Rahim Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and Abul-Hasan 'Ali Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho both nephews of Sayyidi Shaykh Ahmad Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho related to them:

کنا عند شیخنا الشیخ احمد بن الرفاعی بزاویته بام عبیدة فمد عنقه وقال علی رقبتی، فسئلناه عن ذٰلک فقال قد قال الشیخ عبدالقادر الآن بغداد قدمی ھذه علی رقبة کل ولی الله
We were present in the Khanqah (School) with our Murshid, Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho in Umme-'Obayd. Suddenly our Shaykh al-Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho moved his neck forward and said: عَلَى رَقَبَتِي [“On my neck”]. We inquired from him about his action and declaration. He replied: “At this moment Hadrat 'Abd al-Qadir has declared in Baghdad that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya of Allah.” [Bahjat al-Asrar, Published Mustafa Al-Babi (Egypt), Page 13]

Note: Three more Narrations of different narrators with almost the same wordings are also stated on Page 13 and 14 of Bahjat al-Asrar published by Mustafa Al-Babi in Egypt.

He who sees your personality’s halo | Actually sees our Prophet’s spiritual shadow

NARRATION # 5:

Imam Abul-Hasan Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho states that the great Jurist, Rizqullah bin Muhammad bin 'Ali bin Ahmad bin Yusuf Raqqi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho narrated to me that Shaykh Swaleh Abu-Ishaq Ibra'him Raqqi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho reported that Shaykh Mansur Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho narrated to him that Shaykh Imam Abu-'Abdullah Muhammad bin Majid Raqqi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho said to him. Likewise, I received a sound narration from Shaykh Abul-'Abbas Ahmad bin Isma'il bin Hamza Azji Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho who said that Shaykh Abul-Muzaffar Mansur bin Mubarak Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and Imam Abu-Muhammad 'Abdullah bin Abil-Hasan Asbahani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho informed him. All these personalities said that we heard the noble Sayyid, Shaykh Abu-Sa'id Qay'lawi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho saying that

When Hadrat Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho declared that his foot is on the necks of every Wali of Allah. At that time Almighty Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala beamed a Tajalli (lustre) on the Shaykhs' heart and Sayyiduna Rasoolullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam sent a sacred garb with a group of exalted Angels for the Shaykh. There was a gathering of every Wali of the past and present. The Awliya who were alive presented themselves physically and those who had passed on, their souls were present. It was in this splendid gathering that the Angels dressed the great Ghawth Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho with this consecrated garb. At that moment a huge crowd of Rijal al-Ghayb (Men of the Unseen) and Angels were also present. The birds in the skies tucked their wings in respect and absolute submission. All of them filled the horizons to witness this coronation. There was no Wali of Allah on earth that did not bend his neck in submission to the declaration of the Ghawth. [Bahjat al-Asrar, Published Mustafa Al-Babi (Egypt), Page 8-9]

Zehra’s son is blessed in your birth | Qadris enjoy your blessings on this earth

NARRATION # 6:

Imam Abul-Hasan 'Ali Shatnufi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho narrates from Shaykh Abu-Muhammad Hasan bin Ahmad bin Muhammad Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and Shaykh Khalaf bin Ahmad bin Muhammad Harimi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, they heard from their grandfather Shaykh Khalifa Akbar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho who was often privileged of dreaming of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He swears an oath that

One night he dreamt of the glorious Prophet of Allah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He inquired from him SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam about the declaration of Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho who said that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya of Allah. Sayyiduna Rasoolullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam replied: “Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir had spoken the truth and why not, because he is the Qutb and I am his shield .”

Imam Ahmad Rida al-Qadiri Radi ALLAHu Ta'ala Anho says: Alhamdulillah! Almighty Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala ordered our Master to make this declaration and while declaring this, Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala beamed His Tajalli on his heart and Sayyiduna Raulullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam sent him a sacred garb with the exalted Angels. He was clothed with this garb by the Angels in the presence of all the Awliya of the past and present. There was also a huge assembly of Angels and Rijal al-Ghayb bent in submission saluting the great Ghawth Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho.

Now it is up to the individual to accept or reject the elevated status of the great Ghawth. If one is happy with his status then one will be happy and if one is unhappy the one will certainly be unhappy. All that can be said about the unhappy is the command of Almighty Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala:

موتوابغیظکم ان الله علیم بذات الصدور
Say: Perish in your rage: Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala knows well all the secrets of the heart.

In life, death and hereafter, my guide | Under your spiritual cover I want to reside

NARRATION # 7:

Imam Mullah 'Ali Qari Hanafi Makki Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho (d.1014/1606) in his Kitab, Nuzhat al-Khatir al-Fatir trajuma Sayyidi al-Sharif 'Abd al-Qadir states:

من مشائخه حمادالدباس رضی الله تعالٰی عنه روی ان یوما کان سید نا عبدالقادر عنده فی رباطه ولما غاب من حضرته قال ان ھذا الاعجمی الشریف قدماً یکون علٰی رقاب اولیاء الله یصیر مامورا من عند مولاه بان یقول قدمی ھٰذا علی رقبة کل ولی الله ویتواضع له جمیع اولیاء الله فی زمانه ویعظمونه لظهورشانه
Shaykh Hammad bin Muslim al-Dabbas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho was amongst the very first Masha'ikh of Sayyid 'Abd al-Qadir Jilani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho. One day in the absence of Shaykh al-Jilani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho he said: “The foot of this young Sayyid will be on the necks of all the Awliya. Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala will order him to declare that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya. Every Wali of his time will bend their heads in submission and due to his status, they will honour and respect him.” [Nuzhat al-Khatir al-Fatir trajuma Sayyidi al-Sharif 'Abd al-Qadir (Manuscript), Page 8]

This submission of the Awliya will be due to the Divine Appointment of Allah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho of the Ghawth. By the virtue of the fact that ALL the Awliya will acknowledge this, hence Sayyidi Shaykh Ahmad al-Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho will be no exception, and he too also bent his neck in acknowledgment and compliance.

The art of giving is you by inheritance | The Prophet bequeathed to you his pittance

NARRATION # 8:

It is also recorded in Nuzhat al-Khatir al-Fatir trajuma Sayyidi al-Sharif 'Abd al-Qadir that the announcement of Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A'zam Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, قدمی ھذه علی رقبة کل ولی الله, the bending of heads in submission of the present and absent Awliya, the acceptance of the sacred feet of the Ghawth on their heads and the rejection of one Wali who was stripped of his Sainthood is mentioned by the author. Thereafter, he comments as follows:

وھذا تنبیه بینة علی انه قطب الاقطاب والغوث الاعظم
This is a brilliant proof to undoubtedly confirm that Sayyiduna Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir Jilani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho is the King of all the Qutbs and the Ghawth al-A'zam (most senior Ghawth). [Nuzhat al-Khatir al-Fatir trajuma Sayyidi al-Sharif 'Abd al-Qadir (Manuscript), Page 9-10]

Ocean or land, garden or desert, city or village | Which place does not hear your message?

NARRATION # 9:

Imam Ahmad ibn-Hajr Makki Shafa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho (d.853/1448) records in his Fatawa Hadithiyya:

Sometimes the Awliya are ordered to make lofty statements to inform those who are unaware of their high status. Sometimes these statements are made to thank Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala and publicize his favours on an individual. This is similar to the sudden declaration made by Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A'zam Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho made in his majlis that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya of Allah. They all instantly reacted by bowing their heads in confirmation besides one person in Asbahan who was then stripped of all dignity and Spiritual Powers. [Fatawa Hadithiyya, Dar al-Ihya al-Turath al Arabi (Berut - Lebanon), Page 414]

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/428605_10150577753610334_672380333_9612182_1306197211_n.jpg
Control over hearts is yours from above | Please make my heart a treasure of love

NARRATION # 10:

Imam Ibn Hajr Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho lists some of the senior Awliya, who bent their heads in submission, as follows:

§ The patron Saint of the Suhrawardi Sufi Order, Hadrat Sayyidi 'Abd al-Qahir Abu-Najib Suhrawardi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho who bent his head and said:

علٰی رأسی علٰی رأسی
“ On my head, on my head.”

§ Sayyidi Shaykh Ahmad al-Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho bent his head and said:

علی رقبتی
“This small Ahmad is also amongst them on whose neck is the foot the Master.”

When he was asked about his strange action and comment, he replied:

الشیخ عبدالقادر الآن بغداد قدمی ھذه علی رقبة کل ولی الله
“At this moment, Shaykh Sayyid 'Abd al-Qadir Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho has announced in Baghdad that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya of Allah, therefore I too, humbly said that this small Ahmad is also amongst them .”

§ Hadrat Sayyidi Abu-Madyan Shu'ib Maghribi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho also bent his head and said:

وانا منھم اللھم انی اشھدک واشھدملٰئکتک انی سمعت واطعت
“I am also amongst them. O Allah! I make You and all the Angels a witness that I heard the command of 'Qadami' and obeyed.”

§ Hadart Sayyidi 'Abd al-Rahim Qanawi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho bent his neck to the ground and said:

صدق الصادق المصدوق
“The truthful has spoken the Truth.”

[Fatawa Hadithiyya, Dar al-Ihya al-Turath al Arabi (Berut - Lebanon), Page 414]

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/424960_10150576165045334_509077138_n.jpg
Raza! Do not crawl, you may be small | But your renowned master is the best of all

NARRATION # 11:

After recording the above, Imam Ibn Hajr Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho then comments that Shaykh Najibudin Suhrawardi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, Shaykh al-Rifa'i Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho, Shaykh Abu-Madyan Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and Shaykh 'Abd al-Rahim Qanawi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho and many other exalted 'Arifin elaborated that Sayyiduna Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir Jilani Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anho did not make this statement on his own accord but he was commanded by Almighty Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala to do so.

فلم یسع احدًا التخلف
“Therefore no Wali had the courage to disobey this command. (Hence, they bent their heads and gladly took the foot of the Ghawth on their necks)”

[Fatawa Hadithiyya, Dar al-Ihya al-Turath al Arabi (Berut - Lebanon), Page 414]

I hope that these few lines will suffice for the just and pious. May the Almighty Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala grant every Muslim the Tawfiq to accept the truth and exercise Adab with the Awliya of Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala. May the Merciful Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala grant us decorous respect for his Beloved Servants and give us death in their ardent Love and raise us on the Day of Judgement amongst their dignified and pure company... Aameen!!

BELIEF IN ANGELS

Hadrat Imam-i Rabbani says in the 67th letter of the second volume of his Maktubat:

Angels are Allah’s dear slaves. It is not possible for them to disobey Allah’s commands. They do what they are commanded. They do not get married. They do not bear children or multiply. Allahu ta’ala has chosen some of them as prophets. He has honoured them with the task of carrying wahy. They are those who brought the Books and Suhuf to prophets. [For example, An’am Sura[1] was brought by Hadrat[2] Jebrail (Gabriel) together with seventy thousand angels.] They do not make any mistakes, nor do they ever forget. They do not play tricks or deceive. What they bring from Allahu ta’ala is always true. It is never doubtful, nor does it depend upon probabilities. Angels are afraid of Allah’s grandeur, wrath and greatness. They have no other work than doing what they are commanded.

GLOSSARY

How can India turn the direction of rivers? Now after 64 years, we have realised that the Allama was right and the government of that time could not benefit from his vision."

If the said hadith believe to be true then how you will reflect to the following guidance???

"0 ye dwellers of the earth, God is that Almighty Who has' made you His assistant and vicegerent on the earth (that you take His administration and management in your hands) and He hath raised one people many stages over the others so that He may test, in this struggle for survival, your capabilities and potential with which He endued you. Remember that if you did not acquit yourselves in this test and lagged behind, certainly God is quick in punishment: And if, on the basis of your efforts, you surpassed others, then there is no doubt that He is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful." Note down the preference Almighty Allah (swt) promised.

4:95. Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with their wealth and their lives. Allâh has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allâh has promised good (Paradise), but Allâh has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward;

[31:34]

Verily, with God alone rests the knowledge of when the Last Hour will come: and He [it is who] sends down rain; and He [alone] knows what is in the wombs: whereas no one knows what he will reap tomorrow, and no one knows in what land he will die, Verily. God [alone] is all-knowing, all-aware.

Desecration of Quran condemned

Afghans holding chapters of the Quran shout anti-US slogans at a protest after morning prayers outside a mosque in Kabul. — AP

ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Tuesday condemned desecration of Holy Quran at Afghanistan’s Bagram airbase by Nato military personnel and demanded punishment for those responsible for the deplorable act.

The unanimous resolution moved by the Leader of House Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari urged Nato to take steps to prevent recurrence of such irresponsible acts in future.

The incident involving the burning of the Holy Quran sparked anti-US protests in the country, with some religious parties warning to wage a jihad against infidels.

The resolution urged the government to approach the United Nations, international community and the US for action against those responsible for burning of the holy Quran.

Describing the incident as an outrageous act, the house called upon all Muslim countries to demand from Nato and the United States action against those involved in the incident.

“This house condemns in the strongest terms the outrageous act of burning of copies of the holy Quran by Nato troops in Afghanistan,” the resolution read.

BLUE PASSPORTS: The house was informed that the summary relating to privileges for former lawmakers had been approved by the prime minister and outgoing senators will get blue passports and licence for prohibited bore arms.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the staff of passport office and a mobile unit had been assigned to perform duty in the Parliament House on Wednesday to issue blue passports to outgoing Senators.

He said each Senator would get one arms licence of prohibited bore. He urged senators to bring a photograph and apply for the licence.

Under notified perks and privileges, the former lawmakers would be entitled to diplomatic status throughout their life as they will be allowed to have the blue passport and continue to use VIP lounges at all airports in the country free of cost.

What if SC again orders PM to write Swiss letter?
ISLAMABAD: What if the Supreme Court acquits the prime minister because he acted in good faith and did not write a letter to the Swiss authorities because he was so advised, but then again refuses to write the letter on fresh orders of the SC?
Old summaries may have been wrong but to implement the new orders of the SC, new summaries will have to be sent and if the apex court advises the PM to write the letter, will he do so? This is the question being asked in the legal circles of Islamabad as the case comes up for hearing on Wednesday.
A cursory perusal of many long hearings of the prime minister’s contempt of court case shows that after hearing Aitzaz Ahsan’s arguments, all the judges were of the view that they were ready to ignore the non-implementation of the NRO judgement by the chief executive on the basis of some law ministry’s summaries in the past and are ready to close the case if the judgement is implemented now and the letter is written.
“See Mr. Aitzaz, this is a unique case of contempt of court. One government official who is bound to implement orders and judgements of the Supreme Court has not implemented its judgement and we are proceeding against him for contempt of court. And you are asking us that your client, who happens to be the prime minister of Pakistan, will not implement the judgement and that he should be acquitted,” a senior member of the bench had observed.
Almost all judges on the seven-member bench hearing the case or the eight-member bench, which heard the intra court appeal, made similar observations. Aitzaz’s arguments and the observations of the honourable judges so far made in the case show that now the only focal point of the hearing will be whether prime minister is now ready to respect the Supreme Court by writing letters to foreign countries including Switzerland or whether he will stick to his stance of not implementing the NRO judgement.
On conclusion of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan’s arguments different judges observed at different instances that there was no need to further argue the background or merits of the case as they are ready to ignore whatever was done by the prime minister in the past on the basis of the law ministry’s summaries, if he was ready to respect the Supreme Court now by implementing the NRO judgement, they were ready to drop the case.
However, at all such instances, Aitzaz simply refused to even consider the option of persuading the prime minister to implement the apex court’s historic judgement in the NRO case. Instead, Aitzaz’s focus was to convince the court to consider the law ministry’s summaries and in a way he tried to urge the court to punish those (read Babar Awan) who sent this summary.
During the hearing of the contempt case, whenever Aitzaz tried to give the impression that the prime minister couldn’t implement the judgement as he was advised by the law ministry to do so, the judges always reminded Aitzaz that despite these summaries the Supreme Court had repeatedly ordered the government to immediately implement the NRO judgement and write letters to all foreign countries including Switzerland for reopening of all corruption cases closed because of NRO.
“See Aitzaz, we will certainly consider these summaries when we will move forward with the contempt proceedings but this should be clear to you that we have already declared that we are ready to ignore the past acts if the prime minister shows his willingness to write the letters now,” the judges have observed.

Third Palestinian intifada may be on the cards

By: Linda Heard | March 07, 2012 | 0

Palestinian leaders are talking tough these days. And who can blame them! For decades they’ve been listening to empty Israeli promises and put their future in the hands of a succession of US presidents duplicitously claiming to be impartial peace brokers. While all that blah-blah has been ongoing, Israel has been demolishing Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, expanding Jewish colonies on the West Bank, destroying olive groves and orchards and carving up Palestinian towns with a snaking apartheid “fence.” The Israeli government may boast that it forced Israeli settlers out of Gaza and withdrew its army, but ever since the 1.5 million residents of the tiny Strip have been imprisoned and subjected to Israeli attack.

In recent times, the US has shown its true colours by vetoing UN Security Council resolutions mildly condemning Israel and refusing to support any unilateral Palestinian declaration of a state. I still remember with a shudder how George W. Bush and his sidekick Condoleezza Rice refused to call for a cease-fire during Israel’s 2008/9 “Operation Cast Lead’ resulting in the death of 1,400 Gazans, including women and children. Bush paid mere lip service to the concept of a Palestinian state in order to get America’s allies on board the invasion of Iraq. However, behind the scenes Rice did her best to drive a wedge between Palestinian factions. It was little wonder the Palestinian people were relieved when Barack Obama arrived on the scene.

In the early days of his presidency, he was gung-ho to work toward a Palestinian state. During his September 23, 2010 speech in Cairo he received a standing ovation for saying, “This time we should reach for what’s best within ourselves. If we do, when we come back here next year, we can have an agreement that will lead to a new member of the United Nations - an independent, sovereign state of Palestine, living in peace with Israel.”

Fine sentiments, indeed, but for all his uplifting oratory, he did virtually nothing toward that end. On the contrary, in September 2011, he actually urged the United Nations not to recognise a Palestinian state!! It’s not hard to analyze why. When he’s hoping for a second term in office, he can’t afford to upset Congress that invariably does Israel’s bidding and neither can he alienate his country’s powerful pro-Israel lobby. Leaning on Netanyahu would be tantamount to Obama’s political suicide. His stance toward a people who have lived under occupation for over 60 years makes a mockery of his expressed empathy for Syrians battling for their freedom.

As evidenced by the leaked Palestinian Papers, senior Palestinian negotiators did their utmost to compromise with Israeli demands, conceding just about all of them. Yet Netanyahu is clearly unable to accept ‘yes’ for an answer. Netanyahu is more interested in land grab than peace. Washington has pressurised him to sit at the peace table but the only Palestinian state he’s willing to contemplate is a postage-sized, non-contiguous, demilitarised entity without sovereignty over its own borders, airspace or shoreline. In other words, he would put up with a toothless enclave dependent on Israel for its economy and vulnerable to IDF military incursions. Now, he says he will not talk with any Palestinian unity government that involves Hamas. So what is left for the Palestinians to do when faced with an unwilling peace partner who’s merely going through the motions and a cowardly interlocutory ready to sacrifice his principles in order to hang onto privilege and position? Their two uprisings weren’t successful. How could they be when Israeli authorities have sophisticated weapons and the ruthlessness to use them against an unarmed population? There are those who’ve proposed that they should emulate Mahatma Gandhi who used peaceful protest to oust the British from India. But that won’t work when the IDF uses rubber bullets, tear gas and live ammunition to break up demonstrations - and puts participants in prison. It’s taken a long time for the penny to drop, but, President Mahmoud Abbas and his colleagues have finally accepted that they’re being toyed with and are taking control of their destiny. They have now laid down a few rules of their own, the most important being no return to the table until Israel quits settlement expansion. Earlier this year, Abbas warned Israel that it is straining his people’s patience causing growing calls for a third intifada. According to the Palestinian Foreign Minister, Abbas will forward a letter to the Israeli prime minister accusing Israel of breaching its agreed obligations and setting out steps Israel needs to take before negotiations can resume.

Abbas is no longer in the mood to pull his punches. While visiting Qatar last month, he likened Israel’s grip on Jerusalem to the Roman and Crusader occupations, asserted Israel sought to damage the Al-Aqsa mosque to excavate below hoping to find relics of a Jewish temple and besought Muslims everywhere to head to Islam’s third holiest city. Israel is “trying to erase the Arab, Muslim and Christian nature of Jerusalem,” he said. In turn, Netanyahu accused him of “severe incitement coming from the mouth of someone who supposedly claims that he seeks peace.” As we witnessed in Egypt, suppressed fury is like a simmering cauldron that one day or another will inevitably boil over. Unless Netanyahu or his successor start to see beyond their nose, it’s a given that frustrations will result in violence. The Israeli PM must be extremely short-sighted not to see the new paradigm forming all around him. He can no longer count on his buddy Hosni Mubarak to contain Egypt and the country’s new Muslim Brotherhood-dominated Parliament may well decide to renegotiate or even quash Camp David. Likewise, if the regime topples in Syria it may be replaced by leaders more virulently anti-Israel than Assad. Moreover, Israel can no longer count on its longstanding friendship with Turkey.

As Gideon Levy outlines in his column titled “It’s just a matter of time before US tires of Israel” published in Ha’aretz, the day will come when Israel won’t be able to count on its lone real friend America either. “One day the rope could snap and the whole thing could blow up in the face of power-drunk Israel,” he writes. “Israel doesn’t know when to stop, and it could pay dearly as a result.” I couldn’t have put it better myself.                  – Arab News

US great game begins to destroy peace in South Asia

March 07, 2012 | 0

ASHRAF JAVED

LAHORE – With its collapsing economy and inability to maintain its military might in the Middle East and Afghanistan, the US has been working on a covert agenda of extending strategic relations with India, a deliberate attempt to help New Delhi become a regional superpower. By shelving its support for Palestine in the recent years, New Delhi has also upgraded its relations with Tel Aviv.

Reportedly, India’s military chief Gen V.K. Singh is expected to visit Israel despite a decision by the Indian government to cancel his trip this month.

Mr Singh was scheduled to arrive in Israel between March 16 and 18 to discuss the growing defense cooperation between the two countries but that the visit was cancelled due to soaring tensions with Iran. Nevertheless, defense officials in Israel believe the visit will still go ahead on a future date.

At the same time, New Delhi and Jerusalem moved closer over the past decade, and Israel has become the second largest exporter of defense products to India, after Russia. More than $10 billion in defense contracts have been signed between Israel and India since 1999, according to defense experts.

Bearing this backdrop in mind, the US – Israel – India trio have become strategic partners with a clear cut aim of curtailing China’s influence in the region by gaining access to all its neighbouring countries and also continuing the effort aimed at dominating the Islamic World by creating divisions amongst the neighbouring Muslim countries so that they could remain subservient to the alliance’s designs in the region.

Furthermore, depriving Pakistan of its nuclear arsenal and ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons is also part of the agenda to maintain the precarious nuclear balance in the Middle East.

Security experts say that if heed is paid to the events that have panned out in the last few years, it becomes clear that the US attacked and occupied Iraq in order to dismantle its military machine, and, to plunder oil so that it remains economically weak.

Similarly, Afghanistan was said to be occupied with the goal of destroying the Al-Qaeda Network, whereas, the actual aims were to control the flow of hydrocarbons from Central Asia, ensure that the Islamists do not gain affluence in Central Asia, while also looking towards isolating them and to keep Pakistan and Iran under check.

As the reasons supporting the presence of the US in Afghanistan are apparent, it is firmly believed that the continued drone attacks, strings of bombings against the Pakistani Armed Forces, killing of Osama Bin Laden on Pakistani soil, up-scaling of the insurgency in Balochistan, killing of Burhanuddin Rabbani in Kabul, the Memogate scandal and last but not the least, the extraordinary hearing by the US Congressional Committee of Foreign Affairs, exclusively focusing on the Balochistan issue, are well orchestrated events that have tarnished the already suffering image of Pakistan, being portrayed as the breeding ground of extremists and terrorists, accentuating the already fragile security condition and to put the sectarian and ethnic differences in the driver’s seat is also a reason behind this conspiracy.

Despite all its sincerities and loss, it is a universal secret that the US shipped thousands of intelligence operatives during the Earthquakes in 2005 bearing the garb of construction and aid workers. Apart from anti-terrorism assignments, these operatives were tasked at obtaining information about Taliban sympathizers in the ISI and how Pakistan transports and stores its nuclear weapons.

Comically, Amnesty International has remained silent about atrocities that are being committed in Palestine and Kashmir, but, the director of Amnesty International Mr. T. Kumar has proposed to apply the Leahy Amendment to Pakistan, which gives US Congress leverage to discontinue funds to a state whose army is found guilty of committing human rights violation.

Since certain elements are getting impatient, the Afghan National Army is being trained by the Indians and a Pakistani based organization “Jundullah,” which is funded by Israel, is also being used to attack Iran. Some security analysts believe that money is also being funnelled to Chechnya through Pakistan, thus, putting the country at the apex of all the covert warfare or spy war.

Pakistan’s security and political leadership must engage the Baloch dissident elements politically while simultaneously directing funds towards the uplift of the poverty-hit and insurgency-infested province. They also must form an independent foreign policy to counter the serious external threats that are bound to destabilise peace in the South Asian region, policy experts suggested.

OIC Water Vision adopted by Ministers Responsible for Water

The OIC Ministers Responsible for Water adopted the OIC Water Vision at the conclusion of their Conference which was held in Istanbul , Turkey , from 5 to 6 March 2012. The Conference, which was hosted by the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs of Turkey, was attended by the ministers responsible for water, deputy ministers, senior officials, OIC institutions, observes and relevant international organizations.

Inaugurating the Conference, the Turkish Minister for Forestry and Water Affairs Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroglu underscored the urgent need for cooperation and coordination at the national, regional and global levels for promoting water security and addressing water related challenges facing the OIC Member States.

In his inaugural address the OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stressed the need for collective responses to the challenges of reliable access to water for health, livelihood and production, as well as the management of unpredictable water-related risks, which were becoming more pronounced due to population growth, depletion of resources, environmental degradation and the phenomenon of climate change. The OIC Water Vision provided a framework for cooperation among the OIC countries for overcoming the common and major challenge of maximizing the productive use of water and minimizing its destructive impacts.

Since 2005, the OIC has considerably expanded the scope of its activities aimed at addressing major issues of environmental and social concern such as clean water availability and access to sanitation. The OIC Water Vision has been prepared pursuant to the decision of the special meeting of the Ministers responsible for Water from the OIC regions held in Istanbul in March 2009 at the sidelines of the 5th World Water Forum.

The OIC Water Vision gives a brief overview of the diverse water environments across the OIC countries and the different dimensions of water-related challenges they face. It recognizes the critical role of the OIC in promoting cooperation among Member States on water-related issues and its ability to bring together expertise from diverse countries with unique water characteristics.

The Water Vision not only identifies the opportunities for concerted action but also lays out a roadmap for promoting collaboration among Member States in all aspects of water. It proposes a work plan for incremental growth of cooperation starting from sharing of knowledge, experience, capacity development, technology transfer, water governance and institutional reforms. The Water Vision also underscores the need for coordination and synergies with ongoing international water-related initiatives and programs and international cooperation in terms of technology transfer and best practices.

In due course, progress in the implementation of the Water Vision will be reviewed by a Ministerial Water Vision Conference and will form the basis for taking water-related collaboration among Member States to a more advanced level with more specific goals and objectives.

OIC co-hosts a meeting of humanitarian agencies to coordinate efforts for Syrians

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), through its Humanitarian Affairs Department, co-hosted with the Arab League and The Humanitarian Forum a meeting of local, regional and international aid agencies, including the World Health Organization, to discuss access and coordination of efforts for helping the Syrian people.

The meeting was held in Cairo , Egypt on March 4, 2012. Message of the Secretary General on the occasion of International Women’s Day and United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) joins the international community in commemorating the International Women’s Day and United Nation’s Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace. The theme for the 2012   International Women's Day devoted to "Empower Rural Women - End Hunger and Poverty” is most appropriate and calls for greater commitment and collective efforts of the international community to address the issue.

Poverty is a major impediment to development. Its impact however is felt most by women, in particular, rural women. I feel it is imperative for the international community to take a collective stand in creating opportunities for their empowerment and ending hunger. Our aim must be to bring the development process to the doorsteps of rural women through various programs including micro credit.

There is no doubt that securing peace and social progress and the full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms could not be achieved without active participation and progress of women. In this context, the sufferings of women under occupation and women victims of war should be addressed with urgency as these sufferings have long-lasting negative effect on the overall environment of the societies.

The OIC remains committed to the cause of promotion of women in coordination with the Member States and other stakeholders in the international community. It gives special emphasis to gender equality, women participation in socio-economic activities and in decision-making, their access to education an economic opportunities, and elimination of violence against them. These are the essential ingredients to empower women.

The OIC Plan of Action for Advancement of Women and three Ministerial Meetings on Women that have been held since 2006 have identified issues concerning women and devised mechanisms to address them. Alleviating poverty among rural women is a priority agenda. The OIC’s humanitarian activities and projects in different conflict areas including the Gaza , have given special attention to provide food and medical aid to women.

The challenges ahead of us in our struggle to empower women and support them in different spheres are enormous and require committed and consistent efforts on the part of international community and the civil society institutions. I earnestly hope that 2012 International Women’s Day will be observed with the participation of all to fulfill the noble goals that is encompassed in the designated theme.

A Brief Introduction:

Allama Mashriqi (Inayatullah Khan) was born on August 25, 1888 and died in Lahore, Pakistan on August 27, 1963. He was born into a very well respected and financially strong family. His ancestors held prominent positions during the Mughal Empire. He was a genius and broke records at Punjab University in Pakistan and Cambridge University in England. In 1930, Mashriqi laid the foundation for the Khaksar Tehrik. The Tehrik spread throughout India in a very short span of time. His followers and supporters came from all walks of life and numbered in the millions. Mashriqi played a vital role in Indian politics and directed the nation towards freedom. Mashriqi was a simple, straightforward person. He devoted his life to serving the people, particularly the downtrodden. He denounced and demolished the wall between the privileged and the unprivileged. He made himself a part of the people and made every man accessible to him without any reservation. Mashriqi was pure and noble and disliked personal glorification. Though highly educated and politically strong, Mashriqi had no hunger for power and served the nation with no personal gains in mind. He abandoned the life of luxury because he considered it unethical and illogical to pursue a life of luxury when his own people were living in poverty. Pakistan has yet to see a man like Mashriqi, who sacrificed everything for the nation. It was because of this devotion that he earned the respect of millions.

Mashriqi's father, Khan Ata Mohammad Khan, was also an author and had written books in prose as well as poetry and published a weekly magazine by the name of Vakil. He was a man of means, and helped Mashriqi to acquire the best possible education. He had a very close relationship with Sir Syed Ahmed Khan (Founder of Aligarh University and a very well respected person in the Muslim community of Indo-Pakistan) and both were extremely concerned about the future of the Muslims. Allama Mashriqi met Sir Syed when he was very young. Allama's father was also well connected with other Muslim leaders such as Nawab of Loharu, Maulana Shibli Nomani, Abu Kalam Azad, Abdullah al Amadi, Syed Jamal ud Din Afgani and other prominent personalities of that time. Abu Kalam Azad also worked for Allama’s father’s biweekly newspaper. Click here for more information on Vakil.

Allama Mashriqi was educated at the Punjab University at Lahore, Pakistan and later went on to Cambridge University in England. His academic achievements at home and at Cambridge established new records and surprised everybody in Britain and India alike. He had earned degrees in many subjects including Mathematics, Natural and Mechanical Sciences, Oriental Languages, etc. He held degrees such as Fellow Geographical Society- F.G.S. (Paris), Fellow Society of Arts- F.S.A. (Paris), and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts- F.R.S.A. He earned many of his degrees in less time than was required and yet he still broke all
previous records. He was a renowned Mathematician. He was also President of the Mathematical Society, Member of the Delhi University Board, and was awarded the Gold Medal by the World Society of Islam.
Allama went above and beyond the expectations of his examiners. For example, if there were ten questions and the students were supposed to complete nine out of ten, he would perform all ten and give the examiners the choice of which ones to check.
He is believed to be the first man from anywhere in the world to have honors in four different Triposes and to have completed them in a short period of time with distinction. The British newspapers could not ignore his achievements and paid high tributes to him in their newspapers. He was given many titles because of his various academic achievements such as "Foundation Scholar" and "Wrangler". Many newspapers, including The Times London, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Telegraph, and Cambridge Daily, commended his superb performance.

After completing his education in England, he traveled around in Europe and then returned to India. While he was in England, he was contacted by the Maharaja of Alver for a State Premiership. He was not interested in this position or meeting the Maharaja and he declined the offer.
In order to oblige Allama, he was offered Ambassadorship and Knighthood in 1920 and 1921 respectively by the British.
After the creation of Pakistan, he was also offered Federal Ministries in the Government of Pakistan many times by different Heads of State. Allama declined all these offers because he did not agree with the government's policies and he felt that the policies would not help the people of Indo-Pakistan and Kashmir. He did not acquire political position for fame or to meet personal ends. He came from a strong family and was above these things.

Mashriqi was appointed the Under Secretary of Education for India in 1917 by the British Government. He was the first Muslim to hold such a high position. He resigned from the post and founded the Khaksar Tehrik.

Allama met and/or exchanged correspondence with different world leaders on the issue of Muslims in India. Allama exchanged views on the issue of Muslims with different Kings and other prominent leaders of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunis, Egypt, Iraq, and Turkey.

He was also in constant contact with Muslim leaders in India such as Nawab Bahadur Yar Jang,
Maulana Abu Kalam Azad, Sir Zia ud Din (Khaksar), Sir Zafar Ullah, Sir Suleman and other important distinguished personalities of the time.

Allama was in contact with Non-Muslim leaders as well. He wrote letters to Mahatma Gandhi in order to bring re-conciliation between him and Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah over political issues. Other leaders he was in contact with included Jawaharlal Nehru (later became the Premier of India) and Rajagopalchariar (Premier of Madras).

Mashriqi visited many countries in connection with Muslim affairs and was invited to Saudi Arabia by the King as a State Guest. He led a delegation at Motmar-i-Khilafat in Cairo, Egypt. This was where he delivered his historic speech, "Khitab-i-Misr." Allama also attended the Palestine World Conference and was the President of the World Faiths Conference (1937). In short, he was working continuously for the freedom of the Muslims of India and for the welfare and future of Muslims around the world.

Allama was constantly working for the welfare of Muslims before and after the creation of Pakistan. He met and exchanged correspondence with Quaid-i-Azam on the issue of Muslims of the Sub-Continent. Allama also met and/or was in contact with domestic leaders of Pakistan such as Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan, Prime Minister Khawaja Nazimuddin, Governer General Ghulam Mohammad, President Sikandar Mirza and President Ayub Khan at different times in order to discuss the future of Muslims in Pakistan and Kashmir.
Mashriqi was extremely dedicated to the cause of Kashmir and continued his efforts even after Pakistan was created. He wanted to see Kashmir liberated during his lifetime. Until the last days of his life, Allama stayed in contact with President Ayub Khan and offered him any services from the Khaksar Tehrik which could help solve the issue of Kashmir.
Allama was an excellent orator. He delivered many public speeches in different cities where large numbers of his followers would come to listen to him.

Allama had millions of followers. His followers and supporters came from every walk of life, rich and poor, from the general public, to Nawabs, Sirs (title given by the British Government) and Government Officials including Federal Ministers, and Army Generals. He was respected by everyone, even politicians and Heads of State, despite their differences on political issues.

All the Khaksars in his party were volunteers who were devoted to his movement's cause. They joined the movement with no personal interests or motives. The Khaksars were extremely dedicated people. If Allama asked the Khaksars to move from one place to another for public service or called them for a convention/meeting, they all followed his orders blindly and willingly at any time, day or night. They knew that Allama was an extremely honest, selfless, and devoted person and that whatever he did was for the welfare of the Muslims of Indo-Pak. Allama inspired and motivated his followers by making personal sacrifices which people could see in his daily life. Because of the examples set by Allama, the Khaksars devoted their time, energy, and finances for the cause of the Muslims.

Everyone in the Khaksar Tehrik, including Allama Mashriqi, was treated equally. They all wore the same simple khaki dress. If Allama made a mistake, he was punished in the same manner that any other Khaksar would have been punished. Allama made no distinction between him and his fellow Khaksars and treated everyone with full respect.

Allama came from a wealthy family of Indo-Pak and studied at Cambridge University. In his early years, he dressed in English attire. He maintained luxury cars and had servants to perform household chores and serve the food. However, he soon realized that his whole lifestyle was superficial and he abandoned it in order to lead a simpler life working for the welfare of Muslims. He started wearing plain khaki clothes made out of inexpensive cloth. He sat, walked, and talked with anyone who came to see him. It made no difference to him whether he was meeting the Head of the State or a man from the street. He led a very humble life and arrogance was not part of his personality, despite his background.

According to Mashriqi, a leader must not live in luxury while his nation lives in poverty.

Mashriqi devoted his life to the Muslim causes of rebuilding the nation and obtaining independence.
He always put the Muslim cause before his own self and his family. One of Mashriqi's own sons, Ehsanullah Khan Aslam, was injured when hit by a police tear gas grenade during a raid on the Khaksar headquarters in Lahore on March 20, 1940. As a result of his injury, Mashriqi's son died on May 31, 1940.

Throughout his life, Mashriqi was not only concerned about the future of the Muslims in India, Pakistan, and Kashmir, but also Muslims in other parts of the world.

Based on his observations of the circumstances in Pakistan, Mashriqi issued a warning to the nation during his address in 1956 at Minto Park, Lahore. He stated that if the conditions in East Pakistan were not improved, then East Pakistan would declare its independence. His warning became a reality in 1971 when East Pakistan declared independence and formed Bangladesh. Below is the warning issued by Mashriqi in 1956:

"Ye Muslims! Today from this platform I sound you a warning. Listen carefully and ponder. Sometime in the future, probably in 1970, you will be confronted with a perilous situation. In 1970 - I see it clearly - the nation will be stormed from all sides. The internal situation would have deteriorated gravely. A panic of widespread bloodshed will sweep the nation. The frenzy of racial and provincial prejudices will grip the whole country. Zindabad and murdabad will defean your ears. Plans will be initiated to dismember the country. Take it from me that in 1970, Pakistan will be plagued with a grave threat to its sovereignty. You might actually lose it if the reigns of the country were not in the hands of courageous and unrelenting leadership.

India will, in that grave situation, try to take advantage of your internal turmoil and devour you. Or, the governance of the country will fall in the hands of spineless self-seekers or self-centred opportunists who might on their own accord push you into the Indian lap. I warn you about 1970. I warn you to prepare from now to face the situation which will emerge in that year. In 1947, you had a refuge to protect yourself but in the coming days of 1970 - I can clearly visualise – you will have river Attock on one side and the Chinese border on the other, and you will have no place to go…"

Tazkirah and Other Books by Allama Mashriqi:

Allama wrote many books, the most famous of which was Tazkirah, a commentary on the Holy Quran and the Laws of Nature. Tazkirah was also formally nominated for consideration for the Nobel Prize (Literature). The committee did not consider the nomination because Allama refused to translate the book from Arabic into English. Other books he wrote include Isharat, Qaul-i-Faisal, Hedithul Quran, Farogh-i-Islam, Takmilah. Some of his books remained incomplete at the time of his death.
Books by and on Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik are available in research libraries in the USA, including the Library of Congress. His books are also available in Pakistan. Many of his books are published by Al-Tazkira publications in Pakistan.

LIST OF BOOKS ON ALLAMA MASHRIQI AND THE KHAKSAR TEHRIK:

This page contains a list of some books about Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik. It also has a list of some libraries where books on him and his political party can be found.

Syed Shabbir Hussain wrote a book entitled Al-Mashriqi which was published by Jang, the well-known publisher of Jang Newspapers in Pakistan.

In the book, Mr. Husain writes, “At this moment I cannot help remembering two military leaders, Pakistan’s late president Zia-ul-Haq, who, when informed at a small gathering at his place over five years ago that I was attempting a book on Mashriqi, looked at me pensively and said, ‘You must write a book on him, yes, you must write.’ The other soldier is late Lt. General. A.I. Akram, himself a great author and analyst, who a few months before his death asked me at a diplomatic reception, ‘What book is in hand these days’, and when I mentioned Mashriqi, he offered a word of encouragement. ‘He deserves a book. You must write one on him,’ he said.”

Mr. Nasim Yousaf has been conducting extensive research on Allama Mashriqi for many years and as a result, he has published a book entitled Allama Mashriqi & Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan: Two Legends of Pakistan. His research is ongoing and he devotes a considerable amount of time toward the cause, hoping to continue providing the nation with valuable publications in the future.

History lovers, researchers, biographers, historians, professors, students, etc. can find information on Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik from various newspapers, weeklies, bi-weeklies and other publications. With Allama Mashriqi’s death, one chapter of the history of Indo-Pakistan was closed.
Allama Mashriqi died in August of 1963. Upon his death, major newspapers and publications put headlines commending his dedication to the Muslim cause and to the poor people of Pakistan. They commented on what a great loss it was for the entire nation.
The news of Allama’s death spread like wildfire and was broadcast by Radio Pakistan, BBC, All India Radio, and other Radio Stations around the globe. His funeral procession was one of the largest ever seen in the history of Pakistan. Traffic was jammed and roads were packed with people who were crying and mourning his death. Condolence messages were sent by domestic and international leaders upon his death.
Mr. Yousaf, grandson of Allama, who was a child at the time of Mashriqi’s death, remembers the day Allama died and he narrates the following:
"The nation seemed to be in a state of shock. The gloom and tragedy persisted in the air. People were pouring into the city of Lahore from all over the country in order to join his funeral from the hospital to the place where he was to be laid to rest forever. There were people as far as the eye could see; On the sidewalks, on the roofs of buildings and houses, on balconies, trees, poles and anywhere they could find a place to stand. They were all hoping to get a last glimpse of the unforgettable leader. People were sobbing and showering him with flowers and petals, in an effort to bid farewell to the departing leader. There were so many flowers being thrown, that the streets were covered with petals and Allama’s face could hardly be seen under them. Large numbers of policemen were made available to control the mourners. The streets of Lahore were packed with people and traffic had to be diverted. Domestic and international phone calls from people from all walks of life were constantly coming to Allama's residence. Thousands of messages of condolences were received from within Pakistan as well as from all over the world. I was kissed and hugged by the mourners and the Khaksars out of love for Mashriqi. At the burial, all the Khaksars were clad in Khaki attire and a gun salute was given. The solemn scene at the time of the burial reached its peak when all the men, women, and children began to cry and sob as Mashriqi was being laid into his grave."
May God rest his soul in peace.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful
Whether you're a newcomer to Islam, a Muslim or Muslim Revert who is rediscovering true Islam for the first time, someone who is simply interested in the faith which claims over two billion followers worldwide, or a researcher, educator, student or writer, this website presents authoritative Islamic Answers to Questions about Islam from both Muslims and non-Muslims.
PARWEZI PROPAGANDA
Recently, many Muslims are propagating the western-orientated ANTI-HADITH Parwezi School of Thought. Let us look at a brief history of the origin of such a sect. Professor Habibul Haq Nadvi in his book ISLAMIC RESURGENT MOVEMENTS IN THE INDO-PAK SUBCONTINENT (page 105) says:
'They initiated public denial of the Hadith as a legal Islamic Law and led the ANTI-HADITH movement in the Sub-continent. They formulated their own theories from the Quran and reinterpreted Quranic terminology according to their own understanding, which changed the meaning of the Quran explained by classical exegists (Mufassiroon) to a great extent.'
Writing about Al-Mashriqui in the same book, he says:
'Al-Mashriqui, a graduate of Cambridge and a rationalist, started his movement through free interpretation of the Holy Quran. In his AT-TAZKIRAH (1924) and HADITH-AL-QURAN (1951), he explained his views on religion and politics. He abridged the teachings of the Quran to ten points that replaced the five accepted pillars of Islam. He was acclaimed by western scholars for his courage and reconstruction of Islamic Faith (AQAA'ID).' (Note: This is in line with the conspiracy of the West against Islam).
Professor C W Smith in his book MODERN ISLAM IN INDIA (pages 264-276) and Professor Kramer in his article in the THE MUSLIM WORLD, an American Journal, VOL 21, No.2 April 1930, have praised Al-Mashriqui for his ANTI-HADITH views and took special interest in his AT-TAZKIRAH, which is almost non-existent for the last 40 years.
Ghulam Ahmad Parwez not only continued and carried on the message of Al-Mashriqui, but he went further and expounded his own theories. Professor Habibul Haq Nadvi in his book ISLAMIC RESURGENT MOVEMENTS on page 107 says:
'He (Ghulam Ahmad Parwez) disowned the corpus of Hadith as well as classical Tafaaseer (commentaries of the Quran), which according to him cannot be trusted as a source for understanding the Quran by a modern man. Like Al-Mashriqui, he had to redefine and recoin Quranic terminology. Moreover, his translation of the Ouran had been mingled and fused with his personal views and reviews. The four volumes of his LUGHAAT-UL-QURAN were prepared in order to support their new messages and interpretations. They were jointly compiled and written by various authors with similar persuasions but were published under his name.'
On page 108 of the same book, Professor Habibul Haq Nadvi also says:
'These theories, expounded by Parwez, sparked opposition among the orthodox Ulama as well as among the modernists. He was taken by many as a closer ally to Western economic thought and philosophy rather than to the Ouranic system. Dr. Aziz Ahmad, himself a modernist and a great admirer of Parwez, was very unhappy with his NIZAAM-E-RUBUBIYYAH concepts. In his book ISLAMIC MODERNISM IN INDIA AND PAKISTAN (pages 224-225), Dr Aziz Ahmad concludes that no modernist, right from the time of Sir Sayed Ahmad Khan to the present, was so close to Western thought as was Parwez.'
It is therefore not surprising that those who follow his 'mazhab' are causing so much confusion in explaining Quranic concepts. Recently, a special article had to be written by a Parwezi DR SAYED ABDUL WADUD trying laboriously to explain away the confusions created by the articles RELIGION AND LAW and RELIGION AND SCIENCE. These are the results of formulating one's own theories in the Quran and reinterpreting Quranic ideologies according to one's own understanding.
These Parwezis are still 'BARKING' aimlessly in their campaign to label all followers of the Hanafee, Maliki, Shafe'i and Hanbali Schools of Thought as MUSHRIKS (i.e. one who associates partners with Allah). According to their belief, all great scholars and saints in Islam are MUSHRIKS. Na'oozubillah! The Saint of all saints Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), great scholars like Allamah ibn Taimiyyah, Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab and his son Shaikh Abdullah were all followers of the Hanbali School of Thought. Does this mean that they were MUSHRIKS? Na'oozubillah. By this principle, even they themselves are MUSHRIKS as they are blind followers of Parwez's un-Islamic theories. Let these Parwezis get their facts right as their own logical thinking process is also failing to support them.
These Parwezis believe that the Ulama in the Quran refers to the Scientists. Let us ask them one question: Does the Quran refer to westernized GODLESS scientists as Ulama or those who are firmly grounded in Faith? Every Muslim knows that the Quran does contain many scientific facts, which the Ulama are aware of. But this does not mean that the Ulama must study BOTANY, GEOLOGY, BIOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY, COSMOLOGY, ASTRONOMY, METEOROLOGY and NEPHOLOGY as we have them today. Such completely constructed sciences were not in existence in the time of Rasoolullah (SAW). And who can be a greater ALIM (sing. of ULAMA) than Rasoolullah (SAW)? O Allah! Help them to keep their big mouth shut until they KNOW what they are talking about. Ameen!
The Parwezis also openly reject the miraculous birth of Hazrath Isaa (AS), his miraculous ascension to heaven and his second coming into this world. The Holy Quran is very clear without any ambiguity on the miraculous birth and ascension of Hazrath Isaa (AS). But the Parwezis have played verbal gymnastics with these verses of the Quran as well. Articles such as SAVIOURS AND VIRGINS etc. are now appearing in many magazines and newsletters specifically to mock the following clear and unambiguous verses of the Quran:
SHE (MANY) SAID: '0 MY LORD! HOW SHALL I HAVE A SON WHEN NO MAN HATH TOUCHED ME?' HE (THE ANGEL) SAID: 'EVEN SO: ALLAH CREATETH WHAT HE WILLETH; WHEN HE HAD DECREED A PLAN, HE BUT SAITH TO IT, 'BE', AND IT IS!' (Surah Ah Imraan: 47)
HE (THE ANGEL) SAID: 'NAY I AM ONLY A MESSENGER FROM THY LORD (TO ANNOUNCE) TO THEE THE GIFT OF A HOLY SON.' SHE (MARYAM) SAID: 'HOW SHALL I HAVE A SON, SEEING THAT NO MAN HAS TOUCHED ME AND I AM NOT UNCHASTE?' (Surah Maryam: 19-20)
How then can we have any confidence on such Parwezis who make changes (TAHREEF) of the Kalaam of Allah? It definitely seem that they have a completely WESTERNISED version of the Quran as well.
These Parwezis have replaced Salaah and Zikrullah with Music as the food for their soul. Nowhere in their books is there any mention of the significance of Salaah and Zikrullah as food for the soul. A true follower of Quran should NEVER forget this great pillar of Islam. This also confirms that Salaah is no longer considered an important pillar of Islam by the Parwezis. The reason being that they don't accept the Hadith as a source of Islamic Law, so how will they read their Salaah, because the details of salaah are described only in the books of Hadith.
Let us not be misled by the stupid jokes and criticism of the Parwezis against our sincere and righteous ULAMA. Those who follow the Righteous Path of Allah are never afraid of being mocked. This mocking behaviour has always been the pre-occupation of the hypocrites and wicked ones. Allah says:
O YOU WHO BELIEVE! IF ANY FROM AMONG YOU TURN BACK FROM HIS FAITH, SOON WILL ALLAH PRODUCE A PEOPLE WHOM HE WILL LOVE AS THEY WILL LOVE HIM - LOWLY WITH THE BELIEVERS AND MIGHTY AGAINST THE REJECTERS, FIGHTING IN THE WAY OF ALLAH, AND NEVER AFRAID OF THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO FIND FAULTS. THAT IS THE GRACE OF ALLAH WHICH HE WILL BESTOW ON WHOM HE PLEASETH, AND ALLAH ENCOMPASSETH ALL, AND KNOWETH ALL THINGS. (Surah Al-Maa'idah: 57)
May Allah guide us all on the Straight Path, the path of those upon whom He has bestowed His favours, not of those upon whom His wrath descends nor those who are astray. Ameen.

BELIEF IN THE RULES OF ISLAM
Scientists’ experimentations are believed when they are heard of. Things reported and experienced by Awliya’[1] are communicated in the same manner. Also, the benefits of most things enjoined by Islam have been seen and experienced.

Furthermore, some medicinal preparations which have been found useful by scientists and doctors by means of experimentation and bought eagerly for considerable sums of money by everybody are frequently found out to be harmful afterwards. Lists of such preparations, each concluded with a sentence banning their sale, are regularly dispatched by health authorities to drugstores. Factories manufacturing such drugs are closed down by governments. It has become a usual topic for daily newspapers that some much-sought-after medicines have proven to be harmful afterwards. It has appeared again in daily newspapers repeatedly in recent years that hundreds of popular medicines that are called antibiotics cause heart disease and cancer and that some detergents are deleterious to health.

Even if the advantages within the rules of Islam were not revealed by experimentation, it would still be reasonable to believe in them and to fulfill their requirements. Let us suppose that a physician’s wise son, who does not know anything about drugs, becomes ill. He has heard from many people and has even read in newspapers about his father’s achievements and knows that his father loves him very much. His father gives him some medicine and says that if he takes it he will recover immediately, for he has tried it several times. But when he sees that the medicine will be injected and hurt him, would it be reasonable for him to react to his father by saying, “I have never tried this way. ” Who in the world would approve such an answer?

BOOKS OF ILM-I HAL
Iman and i’tiqad are the same. There is a very lengthy and profound branch of knowledge describing them called ilm-i kalam. Savants of kalam are very great people, and books of kalam are numerous. These books are also called books of aqaid. Things that are to be done or abstained from with the heart and body are called ahkam-i Shar’iyya or shortly the Shari’at [1].

The branch of knowledge communicating the ahkam-i shar’iyya, which is done with the body, is called ilm-i fiqh. The books of kalam of the four madhhabs [2] are the same, but their books of fiqh are different. The books that are written for non-educated people and that briefly and clearly describe the knowledge of kalam (iman), morals and fiqh, which everybody should know and do, are called the books of ilm-i hal.

It is the first duty of each Muslim to get books of ilm-i hal written by blessed people who know, love and take care for their religion. Afterwards, he must teach what he has learned to his wife and children. To attempt to learn the religion from the speeches and articles of ignorant people who call themselves and play the part of men of religion means to throw onself down into Hell.

GLOSSARY
[1] Shari’at: (pl. of Shari’a) i) rules and commandments as a whole of the religion. ii) religion.
[2] madhhab: all of what a profound ‘alim of (especially) Fiqh (usually one of the four-Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanbali) or iman (one of the two, namely Ash-ari, Maturidi) communicated.

BIGGEST THIEF
One day, asking his Sahaba[1], our Prophet ‘sallallahualaihi wa sallam’ stated, "Do you know who the biggest thief is?" "Allah and his Prophet know better," they replied. Upon this he stated, "The biggest thief is the one who steals from his own namaz[2], because he does not carry outthe rules of namaz precisely!" One must avoid this theft, too, thus securing oneself against becoming a big thief. One must intend to perform namaz without having anything in one’s heart. If the intention is not correct the worship will not be accepted. One must recite the qiraat correctly, do the ruku’, the sajdas, the qawma and jalsa in due itminan. In other words, afterthe ruku’[3] one must stand upright and remain so as long as the duration in whichone could say, "Subhanallah," and must sit upright and remain so as long as the same duration between the two sajdas. Thus, itminan [tumaninat][4] will be fulfilled in the qawma[5] and jalsa[6]. Those who do not do so become thieves and will be tormented bitterly.

GLOSSARY
[1] Sahaba: if a Muslim has seen the Prophet, or talked to him, at least once when the Prophet was alive, he is called Sahabi. Plural form of Sahabi is Sahaba or As’hab. The word Sahaba-i kiram includes all those great people each of whom has seen the Prophet at least once. The lowest of the Sahaba is much higher than the highest of other Muslims. If a person has not seen the Prophet but has seen or talked to one of the Sahaba at least once, he is called Tabi’. Its plural form is Tabi’in. In other words, the Tabi’in are the successors of the Sahaba. If a person has not seen any of the Sahaba but has seen at least one of the Tabi’in, he is called Taba’i Tabi’in. The Sahaba, the Tabi’in and the Taba’i tabi’in altogether are called the Salaf-i salihin (the early savants).
[2] namaz: prayer that is performed five times per day in Islam.
[3] ruku: bowing during the prayer of namaz.
[4] tumaninat: see first and second fascicles of Endless Bliss.
[5] qawma: standing upright and motionless after ruku.
[6] jalsa: sitting upright and motionless for a moment between the two sajdas.

If a person opens an auspicious way, he will attain the thawabs of people who follow that way as well as the thawab for having attained it.

Assalamu Alaikum!

Imam Ghazali is one of the most towering figures in Islamic history, whose influence on the Muslim world continues to remain strong. His legacy of wisdom and enlightenment is a treasure that can only be unearthed through his writings. We are pleased to offer English translations of his writings on important topics such as his own spirtual autobiography and a guide on how a religious person should spend his days.

Al-Ghazali: Wonders of the Heart

"The term 'heart' has a primal position in the vocabulary of Muslim religious teachers and in that of the philosophers. The term is used in Islam for the seat of intellectual and emotional life. In this treatise, al-Ghazali unravels its wonders and secrets, achieving his desired end - to lead man to the good life. This is the twenty-first book of the third quarter of al-Ghazali's Ihya Ulum al-Din."Translated by Walter James Skellie.

Al-Ghazali: Deliverance From Error and The Beginning of Guidance

Two great works in one volume. Deliverance from Error is the spiritual autobiography of Imam Ghazali. The Beginning of Guidance, his other work included in this volume, complements his spiritual autobiography and sets out his ideal of how the religious man should order his life from hour to hour and day to day. Translated by W. Montgomery Watt.

Al-Ghazali: The Secrets of Pilgrimmage

"Hajj is one of the pillars and foundations of Islam, the act of worship of a lifetime, the seal of all that is commanded, the perfection of Islam and the completion of religion. Such a worship deserves that much attention to be devoted to explaining itand to detailing its essential elements, its properties, its merits, and its mysteries. This little book is translated from Kitab Asrar al-Hajj, the seventh chapter of the celebrated 12th-century work, Ihya Ulum al-Din. Al-Ghazali invites readers to dwell on the subject of the hajj beyond its mechanics and rituals, and to pay attention to its true substance, purpose and philosophy." Translated by Ibrahim Umar.

BOOKS OF RELIGION
Thousands of precious books have been written on the tenets of the Islamic faith and its commands and prohibitions, and many of them have been translated into foreign languages and distributed to every country. On the other hand, ill-willed and short-sighted people have continuously attacked the useful, bountiful and lightsome rules of Islam and have striven to blemish and change it and to deceive Muslims.

It is still seen with gratitude that in almost every country scholars of Islam are striving to disseminate and defend this path. Unsuitable speeches and articles, however, are still being witnessed, which are claimed to have been taken from – but out of misunderstanding of – the Qur’an al-karim and the hadith ash-sharif [1] by a few people who have not read or understood the books by the ulama [2] of Ahl as-Sunna [3]. Yet these speeches and articles are ineffective against the firm iman of Muslims (brothers)(this applies to Muslim brothers and sisters) and have no influence, but indicate the ignorance of their agents.

GLOSSARY
[1] hadith (sharif): i) a saying of the Prophet (‘alaihi ‘s-salam).; al-Hadith ash-sharif: all the hadiths as a whole; ii) ‘ilm al-hadith; iii) Books of the hadith ash-sharif. iv) Al-hadith al-qudsi, as-sahih, al-hasan: kinds of hadiths (for which, see Endless Bliss, II).
[2] ‘ulama’: pl. of ‘alim; ‘ulama’ ar-rasihin, those learned in both zahiri and batini sciences.
[3] Ahl as-Sunna (wa’l-Jama’a): the true pious Muslims who follow as-Sahabat al-kiram. These are called Sunni Muslims. A Sunni Muslim adapts himself to one of the four Madhhabs. These madhhabs are Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i and Hanbali.

Pakistan’s future: we must learn to live with Zardari for long
Major General (retd) Tahir Ali
ISLAMABAD: For predicting the future political landscape of Pakistan, it is imperative that we have a clear understanding of our national psyche developed over centuries and where we stand today with respect to the major players who are likely to shape Pakistan’s political future, at least in the near term.
To understand as to why we are what we are, we should understand that through centuries, warriors from the North (Afghanistan/ Central Asia) invaded the fertile lands of Punjab and further south, ruled the area by brute force and used influential locals (sell offs) for collecting tax on their behalf, in return for some privileges and status. The locals, instead of defending their motherland, always succumbed and a number of young men normally joined the invading forces as low rank soldiers to share the booty.
The remaining masses in general learned to live under subjugation, seeking survival by all means, right or wrong.
The British adopted the same strategy, ruled for a century by using or controlling through enticements the same two segments of this region-influential who became feudal lords and the uniformed lot. These became distinct ‘elite classes’ for serving the British and for the remaining, subservience became the norm.
After creation of Pakistan nothing changed with the exception that a tussle started for ascendancy between the same two ‘elite classes’, i.e predominantly feudal based political leadership and the uniformed establishment, in which, barring few intermittent periods, the latter mostly prevailed due to division amongst political leadership and their failure to deliver whenever in power, successful conversion of Pakistan into a security state by the establishment ensuring their relevance, indifference of the masses and most importantly, support by the US administration who felt comfortable to deal with one man at the top. (This has remained USA’s practice, especially in countries where strong anti-US feelings exist, little realising that such sentiments emanate because of this very approach).
Paradigm shift in the political landscape of Pakistan started to manifest in the last 6-7 years with the reversal of most of the above factors. It started with the US administration’s decision to invest in the political leadership, albeit a pliant one, rather than Musharraf, who, in their view, had started double-dealing with them.
Benazir played a major role in bringing about this change of thought as she, while in exile, was able to convince the US administration that they were betting on the wrong horse. She was able to successfully convince the Americans that she had the popularity at grass-root level, could change public opinion in USA’s favour, she was capable of controlling extremism and willing to play USA’s game in the region.
Convinced, the US administration, acceded and Musharraf was accordingly ‘convinced’ for her return to Pakistan. The other fundamental change came from within, whereby, an understanding developed between Benazir and Nawaz Sharif that they would not let themselves to be used by the establishment against each other, rule by consensus amongst themselves and let their children and their children reap the fruits. Benazir was unfortunately assassinated and succeeded by her spouse, Zardari.
With USA’s support waning, Musharraf’s fall was a matter of time, bringing down with him the entire edifice of establishment’s ascendancy. Zardari, being a very shrewd politician and bestowed with many hidden qualities, both positive and negative, successfully formed the PPP led government, he himself became the president and since then has successfully overcome many challenges by adopting a simple strategy; for those who matter, “support me and get whatever you want” and for the Americans, “support me, empower me and get results”.
Today, one can safely assume that Zardari is very close to the US administration, has out-smarted all politicians, neutralised the establishment, diluted judiciary’s power base and has been able to woo some of those, including media-persons and journalists, who could act as spoilers in his pursuit for maintaining ascendancy. He knows how to win-over willing and unwilling partners and has accumulated enough resources to buy loyalties.
The only thing lacking is his ability to deliver to the masses and ensure good governance, but then in our beloved country this has never been the criterion. Those who do not agree may go through the results of recently held by-elections.
Nawaz Sharif, the second major player in the political arena, simply stating, lacks the abilities and political acumen to counter Zardari who has already taken the former for a ride, not once but many a time.
Nawaz Sharif’s anti-establishment phobia and unwillingness to forgive those who sided with Musharraf have been successfully exploited by his main rival. Living with self-conceived euphoria that owing to his so-called principled politics he would clinch the top slot in the next elections, Nawaz Sharif fails to comprehend that, as the indicators are, he is already confined to Punjab.
Thus, with the establishment cornered, judiciary gradually losing relevance because of inability to assert in important cases, media with loop-holes to be exploited, Nawaz Sharif in a state of war with everybody, including his own self and living in illusions, as well as delusions, ANP as willing and MQM as unwilling partners, PML-Q in the bag, Imran Khan lacking the understanding of Pakistan’s real politics, un-flinging USA’s support and above all, subservient or indifferent masses, PPP is likely to head the next coalition government also and we must learn to live with Zardari as our president for a long haul.
Of course, under him Pakistan will neither remain a security state nor become a welfare state but will be converted into pliant state, a status we are doomed to be condemned being a bunch, at least a sizable majority, who stay indifferent during elections, sell cheaply, consider corruption as a non-issue, for whom self-elevation by all means, right or wrong, remains the norm and who willingly allow themselves to be exploited. We deserve Zardari.

And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is Ever All-Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs. If He wills, He can take you away, O people, and bring others. And Allah is Ever All-Potent over that. Whoever desires a reward in this life of the world, then with Allah (Alone and none else) is the reward of this worldly life and of the Hereafter. And Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer.

Two persons cannot long be friends if they cannot forgive each other's little failings.

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs; clamp your (very) teeth upon it." [Abu Dawud, Ahmad]

Even the lightest gift will fall through our fingers if we do not take a hold of it firmly. Similarly the pearls of guidance and the treasures of the keys to Allah's pleasure will not benefit us in the least unless we grab on to them firmly. This means to take each ayat, and each hadith, and each consensus of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, as worth more than the world and all that it contains. To hold on to it carefully is to study it, understand it, and mould our behaviour according to it.

Islamic scholars and specialists in fundamentals of Sacred Law state that the opinion and position of a Companion, when it becomes widely acted upon and no one is known to object to it, is considered to have become a scholarly consensus (ijma) and is thus a decisive proof. Imam Nawawi explicitly records this in his commentary on Sahih Muslim.

Regarding the value and honour of his Companions, Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Do not revile my Companions, for by Him in whose hand is my soul, were one of you to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, you would not attain the reward of a handful of one of them or even half of it (because what they spent benefited Islam more)." Allah Himself has vouched for the high status of the early immigrants (Muhajireen) and the helpers (Ansar) in the Quran. All of the Khulafa Rashideen were of the Muhajireen and very close to Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam).

Pakistan bans sectarian outfits

Pakistan bans sectarian outfits

The government has banned four organizations, three of them sectarian, in the country. The interior ministry issued a notification in this regard and sent to all the four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan governments. The organizations include Shia Talba Tanzeem, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat, formerly known as Sipah-e-Sahaba, and Karachi-based People’s Aman Committee, an offshoot of ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Tehreek-e-Naujawan AhleSunnat Gilgit (TNA). The move comes days after 18 Shiites were killed after being disembarked from four buses. Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that elements involved in the carnage have been arrested. He also hinted at launching operation in the area to bring peace.

Condemning the desecration of Holy Quran by the US and Nato forces...

Religio-political parties hold demo

By: Muqaddam Khan | March 10, 2012 | 0

PESHAWAR - Condemning the desecration of holy Quran by the US and Nato forces men, activists of different religious and political parties held a separate protest demonstration and urged the government to sever diplomatic relations with the United States.

Workers of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, district Peshawar, Friday held a motorcycle rally from Peshawar Press Club to Qissa Khwani Bazaar. They joined a Jamaat-e-Islami protest gathering there. The JI activists were also holding a protest gathering against the sacrilege of holy Quran by Nato personnel at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan. They were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-US and anti-Nato forces slogans.

The protestors condemned the act and termed it a conspiracy against Islam and Muslim Ummah. They also sloganeered against the US and Nato forces and urged the government to sever diplomatic relations with the US and countries whose personnel were involved in this heinous crime.

The infuriated protestors were of the view that the culprits, who desecrated the holy Quran were not pardonable. They demanded that they should be awarded death punishment. They also urged Pakistani rulers to permanently halt Nato supply.

They warned if the government tried to restore Nato supply then they would extend their protest to other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, activists of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APLM) district chapter held a protest demonstration against the desecration of Holy Quran and increase in electricity and petroleum prices.

The protestors led by Malik Attiq provincial president of APML Youth wing and information secretary Shukat Shah, were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against US- forces and price hike gathered at Sher Shah Suri road opposite Cantonment Railway Station. The demonstrators chanted full-throated slogans against the US, Nato and also Pakistani rulers.

On the occasion, talking to media persons they strongly condemn the act of the forces stationed in the neighboring Afghanistan, saying that such kind of activities could not be tolerated in future.

Criticizing the incumbent PPP and ANP-led governments, they said that rulers have been completely failed to give any relief to masses, while instead of providing basic facilities of life to people the government further increased rates of the daily commodities items, and electricity and petroleum products.

Narrated Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah (RA): My father said “While we were praying with the Prophet (peace be upon him) he heard the noise of some people. After the prayer he said “What is the matter?” They replied “We were hurrying for the prayer”. He said “Do not make haste for the prayer, and whenever you come for the prayer, you should come with calmness, and pray whatever you get (with the people) and complete the rest which you have missed” (Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 608, Book of the Call to Prayers).

Ways of Protecting Yourself From
Nightmares and Disturbing Dreams

Praise be to Allaah.

1. Dreams that disturb a person and keep him awake come from the Shaytaan. In general, the dreams that people see are either good dreams which come from Allaah, a reflection of things which a person is thinking about, or a third type, which are dreams that come from the Shaytaan.

It was reported from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Towards the end of time, hardly any dreams that the Muslim sees will not come true. The one whose dreams are the most truthful will be the one whose speech is the most honest. The dreams of the Muslim form one of the forty-five parts of Prophecy. Dreams are of three types: the good dream which is good news from Allaah; dreams which cause distress, which come from the Shaytaan; and dreams concerning matters which a person is thinking about…” [Narrated by Muslim, 2263]

2. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us how to rid ourselves of the influence of Shaytaan during sleep. This can be achieved by reciting verses from the Qur’aan and du’aa’s narrated from him, before going to sleep.

It was reported that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) put me in charge of guarding the zakaah of Ramadaan. Someone came and started to scatter the food. I took hold of him and said, ‘I will take you to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).’… He said, ‘When you go to bed, recite Aayat al-Kursi and you will be protected by Allaah, and no shaytaan (devil) will come near you until morning.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘He told you the truth even though he is a liar. That was a shaytaan.’” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3101].

(a) It was reported that Abu Mas’ood al-Badri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘The last two aayahs of Soorat al-Baqarah – whoever recites them at night, they will be sufficient for him.’” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3786; Muslim, 807].

Al-Nawawi said: “Concerning the phrase, ‘The last two aayahs of Soorat al-Baqarah – whoever recites them at night, they will be sufficient for him’, it was said that it means, they will be sufficient for him instead of praying qiyaam al-layl, or as protection from Shaytaan, or as protection from vermin. It could mean all of these things.”
(Sharh Muslim, 6/91, 92).

(b) It was reported that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went to his bed, he would blow into his hands and recite Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad (Soorah 112) and the Mi’wadhatayn (Soorahs 113 and 114). Then he would wipe his hands over his face and his body, as far as they could reach.” ‘Aa’ishah said: “When he fell ill, He would ask me to do that for him.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5416; Muslim, 2192]

(c) It was reported that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to tell us, when any one of us wanted to sleep, to lie on his right side, then say ‘Allaahumma Rabb al-samaawaati wa Rabb al-ard wa Rabb al-‘Arsh il-‘Azeem, Rabbana wa Rabba kulli shay’in, faaliq al-habb wa’l-nawa wa munazzil al-Tawraata wa’l-Injeeli wa’l-Furaan, a’oodhu bika min sharri kulli shay’in anta aakhidhun bi naasiyatihi. Allaahumma anta al-awwal fa laysa qablaka shay’un, wa anta al-aakhir fa laysa ba’daka shay’un. Wa anta al-zaahir fa laysa fawqaka shay’un wa anta al-baatin fa laysa doonaka shay’un. Iqdi ‘annaa al-dayna wa aghninaa min al-faqr (O Allaah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, and Lord of the Mighty Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Tawraat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel) and the Furqaan (Qur’aan), I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things that You will seize by the forelock [i.e., have full control over them]. O Allaah, You are the First and there is nothing before You; You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest (al-Zaahir) and there is nothing above You; You are the Hidden (al-Baatin) and there is nothing beyond You. Settle our debt and spare us from poverty).’” [Narrated by Muslim, 2713].

(d) It was reported that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “Abu Bakr said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, teach me something that I can say in the morning and in the evening.’ He said: ‘Say, Allaahumma ‘Aalim al-ghaybi wa’l-shahaadah, Faatir al-samawaati wa’l-ard, Rabba kulli shay’in wa maleekahu, ashhadu an laa ilaaha illa anta. A’oodhi bika min sharri nafsi wa min sharr il-shaytaan wa shirkih (O Allaah, Knower of the seen and the unseen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no god except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self and from the evil and shirk of the Shaytaan). Say this in the morning and in the evening, and when you go to bed.’” [Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3392; Abu Dawood, 5067].

3. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also taught us what to do when someone sees something unpleasant in a dream and wakes up as a result. That is: to spit drily to the left, to seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan, to change the side on which one was sleeping, and to pray if one wishes.

(a) It was reported that Abu Qutaadah said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Good dreams come from Allaah and bad dreams come from the Shaytaan. If any one of you sees a bad dream which makes him afraid, let him spit drily to his left and seek refuge with Allaah from its evil, then it will not harm him.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3118; Muslim, 2261].

(b) It was reported from Jaabir that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit drily to his left three time, and seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan three times, and change the side on which he was sleeping.” [narrated by Muslim, 2262].

(c) It was reported that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘If any one of you sees something that he dislikes (in a dream), let him get up and pray, and not tell people about it.’” [narrated by Muslim, 2263]
If the Muslim follows this advice given by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), before he goes to bed, it is hoped that no shaytaan will come anywhere near him, and if he follows this advice when he wakes up from a bad dream, it will take away all anxiety and distress from him.

And Allaah knows best.

Subject: Superb translation of Surah As Sajdah (v 4-9) by late Allama Mashriq
aaqib98

(18:54) We have explained in detail in this Qur'an, for the benefit of mankind, every kind of similitude, but man is in most things contentious.

The following is the superb well explained and thought provoking translation of Surah As Sajdah (4-9) by late Allama Mashriqi

"0 ye people! God is Great, Lord of all, Who created the wondrous complex of the heavens and the earth in six 'Days' of long durations, and, firmly established on the Throne of Authority (al-Arsh), is running this supreme administration. 0 ye human beings! Ye have none besides Him to protect or intercede for you. His authority is operative everywhere; HIs Law is extent to every place. Will ye not then receive admonition from this wondrous world and its supreme administration? "He is that Supreme Creator and Doer ot Great Deeds that He foats the idea of a Universe-wide law (al-Amr), an immense plan (al-Amr), a supreme decision or an affair (ai-Amr) from the heavens to the earth. Then this affair, on account of its immensity and vastness, slowly and quietly evolves (yarojo) towards (ilahee) His Will over a long period (fi-yaum) which may be more than a thousand years of human reckoning or even more, and on the basis of its own inevitable effectiveness reach the climax. (In other words His immense plans are completed in thousands of years; the enforcement of His universal law is felt after centuries; His will is fulfilled even after the lapse of generations). Such is He the Knower of thousands of years hence (A 'limul ghaib), and the true Ascertainer of the present (Washshahadat), the Exalted in Power (AI-A ziz), the Merciful (AI-Rahim) God on Whose Beneficence, Forbearance and Supreme Knowledge and Action is functioning this immense universe.
"He is that Great Architect Who has made everything created by Him most good, and initiated (bada') the noblest creation of man from as insignificant and inferior a thing as clay,  then slowly and slowly He sustained the progeny of this first initiation, this lesser creature, this ancient creation, after thousands of years of planning and formation, from the sperm (of higher animals) of a nature of a fluid despised; then after crossing this immense stage of sperm seeding, He created, after further planning and execution for thousands of years, the best proportion (summa sawwahu) in the organs of this new creation. Then in that noblest of creations, He breathed small bits of His own incomparable qualities; by giving him from His side a little knowledge, a little authority, a little understanding He in a way breathed His spirit into him (wa nafakha fihi minrruheh) And today, ye human beings, after passing you through all these stages He blessed you with those Supreme Divine favors, and endued you with those unique exhibits of God's qualities which are called the Ears, the Eyes and the Brain with which (notwithstanding the fake ears, eyes and minds of all the lesser creatures) you can truly listen, see and understand. Also you value them very little and put them to very little use (qaleelum ma tashkarun) "(32:4-9).

“SUFFICIENT FOR US IS THE BOOK OF ALLAH.”

When water springs forth from a mountain, it is clear. As it trickles downs it becomes muddy and polluted. Such has been the case with the history of our Islamic traditions. The first followers of the Prophet (S), the Sahaba Kiram, were men of character and moral righteousness. They wholeheartedly accepted the Word of Allah and lived according to the Message. Little did they know that over time, the Muslim community would be subjugated by fictitious accounts of the exalted Prophet’s life and sublime morals! Had they even suspected that this could occur, they would have collected the deeds and sayings of the Prophet (S) in his lifetime. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad (S) would have called for a written compilation of his sayings if he deemed it necessary.

Questionable Hadith in Bukhari tells us that during his terminal illness, the Prophet (S) said, "Bring the writing material for me to pen for you something that you may never go astray after me." Hazrat Umar immediately responded, "Hasbuna Kitaabullah" (Sufficient for us is the Book of Allah). This sounds like a breach of respect on the part of Hazrat Umar. In my humble understanding, the Prophet (S) would never say anything like this after the Qur’an had clearly stated that it is a detailed, complete and perfected book and:

"This day I have perfected your Deen for you"(5:3)

On the contrary, the Prophet (S) commanded, La taktabu ‘anni ghair-al-Qur’an; wa mun kataba ‘anni ghair-al-Qur’an falyamhah. (Write from me nothing but the Qur’an and if anyone has written, it must be obliterated.)

The Prophet (S) commanded, La taktabu ‘anni ghair-al-Qur’an; wa mun kataba ‘anni ghair-al-Qur’an falyamhah. (Write from me nothing but the Qur’an and if anyone has written, it must be obliterated.) - Saheeh Muslim, vol 1 pg 211 Hadith number 594, Printer Maktaba Adnan, Beirut 1967.

He had the wisdom to foresee that his words and actions could be distorted over time. The Prophet also knew that his words and actions were in absolute harmony with the Divine Authority of the fully preserved Qur’an, so why commit them to writing? Imagine this scenario, 6 people sit down together for just one hour. Would anyone be able to recall exactly what they had uttered? Ask them separately and each one's account will be different. Write this down. Then pause for a week and question them again. Each one's account will be at greater variance. They will even contradict themselves.

This is precisely why the Ahadith were repeatedly burned at the order of the Prophet (S)
and the Sahaba Kiram.

During the time of Hazrat Umar, 100,000 copies of the Qur’an had been prepared and distributed far and wide. Was it that difficult for him and the companions to compile a collection of Hadith as well? No, not at all! With all of the Sahaba alive and well, it would have taken just one month. They did not do so because they always believed that the Qur’an was a sufficient guide. Since Allah and Rasool (S) had endorsed the Supreme Authority of the Qur’an, they could not even think of disobeying. Like the Prophet (S), the Sahaba Kiram also knew of the possibility of differences in narration.

As the Prophet (S) commanded, Hazrat Abu Bakr burned his collection of 500 Ahadith (Tazkarah-tul-Haffaaz by Imam Zahabi). Following this lead, Hazrat Umar commanded the Sahaba to go home and return with their collections of Hadith. Then the entire stack was set ablaze. (Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d vol 5 pg140) He said, “There have been communities before you that wrote books of prophetic sayings. But then, they abandoned Divine Revelation and adhered to those man-made books. By God! I will not let this happen to the Kitabullah (Qur’an).” (Jaame’ Bayanil ‘Ilm by Hafiz Ibn Abdul Birr) So, how could it be that in the next two to four centuries, hundreds of thousands of Ahadith surfaced on the account of our Muhadditheen (Hadith collectors - Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Daud, Ibn Majah, Abur Rahman Nisaai, Musa Tirmizi, and the Shi’a Muhadditheen)?!

Yet the supporters of these Imams fabricate their superhuman deeds to grant them credibility. To this day, many Muslims will have no reservation in believing a Hadith which defames the character of the Prophet. They have learned to not question the fallacies of the mullas and they accept assaults on the infallible character of the Prophet!

- Ali bin Husain bin Ali used to pray 1,000 raka’t everyday! (Tazkarah Haffaz) This would
not be possible, even if one stood in prayer 24 hours each day.

- “Imam” Waqidi, a liar by consensus, claimed: Imam Maalik alone, transcribed 100,000 Ahadith. He learned from 900 teachers and by age 17 he was able to teach classes of Hadith. When the authenticity of MUWATTA (title of his compilation) was questioned, he suggested throwing it in water; if the water did not damage the writing, then that was to be taken as proof of its accuracy.

Imam Maalik’s followers claim that indeed Muwatta was immersed in water and it remained unscathed. How much more gullible could one get?! (In fact, this is nothing but a frank forgery – Sheikh Abdul Muhsin bin Mullah Ali Al-Qari).

- One day while teaching Hadith, a scorpion stung him 16 times but the Imam completed his class lessons before attending to it. (“Musaffa”, Shah Waliullah’s commentary on Muwatta) It is amazing to see that the noble companions insisted on removing all collections of Ahadith from circulation. In contrast, Bukhari followers proudly claim, “This (Bukhari) is the most accurate of books after Kitabullah.”

This is one of (out of 1000s) proof how ahadith/bukhari company damage the name of our beloved Prophet (saw). For such a small issue (Bathing/Ghusul)how this hadith projecting our Prophet (saw)'s personal life. Iam sure true muslims at least avoid circulating such ahadith where our Prophet (saw)'s personal life is attached.

May Allah (swt) protect muslim ummah from such hypocrites.

In the name of ALLAH most gracious and most mercifull.
The Prophet (PBUH) said "Pass on knowledge from me even if it is only  one verse"
Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah
As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Narrated by Muhammad bin Al-Muntathir/Aisha
(Radhiallaho anhum):
*****
on the authority of his father that he had asked
'Aisha about the saying of Ibn 'Umar
(i.e. he did not like to be a Muhrim while the smell of scent was
 still coming from his body).
'Aisha
said, "I scented Allah's Apostle and he went round
(had sexual intercourse with) all his wives,
and in the morning he was Muhrim (after taking a bath)."

It is as if I am just looking at the glitter of scent in the
 parting of the
Prophet's head hair while he was a Muhrim.

Agar ma'amla aisa hai to ye Ayaath or ek hadith nauzubillah be magsad hi naazil hogayeen??????

[61:10]   O you who believe, let Me inform you of a trade that will save you from painful retribution.

[61:11] Believe in GOD and His messenger and strive in the cause of GOD with your money and your lives. This is the best deal for you, if you only knew.

[61:12] In return, He forgives your sins, and admits you into gardens with flowing streams, with beautiful mansions in the gardens of Eden. This is the greatest triumph.

[61:13]Additionally, you get something you truly love: support from GOD and guaranteed victory. Give good news to the believers.

(29:2) Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, we believe, and will not be tested with affliction?

(9:111) Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for Jannah (Paradise)[. ..]

(2:218) Lo! Those who believe, and those who emigrate (to escape the persecution) and strive hard (jahadu) in the way of Allah, these  have hope of Allah's mercy. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

(8:74) Those who believed and left their homes and strove hard (jahadu) for the cause of Allah, and those who took them in and helped them -- these are the believers in truth. For them is pardon, and a bountiful provision.

(2:214) Or think ye that ye will enter Paradise while yet there hath not come unto you the like of (that which came to) those who passed away before you? Affliction and adversity befell them, they were shaken as with earthquake, till the messenger (of Allah) and those who believed with him said: When cometh Allah's help? Now surely Allah's help is nigh.

[16:89] The day will come when we will raise from every community a witness from among them, and bring you as the witness of these people. We have revealed to you this book to provide explanations for everything, and guidance, and mercy, and good news for the submitters .

(3:142) Or deemed ye that ye would enter Paradise while yet Allah knoweth not those of you who strive hard (jahadu), nor knoweth those (of you) who are steadfast?

(6:164) [...]every nafs shall bear the consequences of its actions and no one can help him in any capacity[...]

(2:155-157) And surely We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast. Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning. Such are they on whom are blessings from their Sustainer, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided.

(9:111) Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for Jannah (Paradise)[. ..]

Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol. 4 : No. 73
Narrated by Abdullah bin Abi Aufa(Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, "Know that
Paradise is under the shades of swords."

Now tell me my brother does it contradict with Quran or not???? This hadith fabricated and misguiding muslim ummah or not? Because by accepting your projected hadith (nauzubillah) you are subject to dare punishment from ALLAH (swt) becasue the warnings are very clear.

Umm Salama reported Allah’s Messenger as saying : “Any woman who dies when her husband is pleased with her will enter Paradise” (Tirmidhi)

Dhikr, remembrance of Allah and its virtues

Dhikr or the remembrance of Allah is an all-embracing term, in addition to ritual acts of worship it covers many activities of the tongue and heart. It involves remembering Allah at all times. This form of worship has no special time, it is to be performed constantly so that it permanently links up one’s life with Allah.

The importance of constant Dhikr cannot be emphasized enough. Through the Qur’an and Sunnah we come to know that Dhikr is an important component, it is the soul of Ibadah (acts of worship) - acts like Tawaf, Sa’y, Ramy of Jamarat are based on the Dhikr of Allah. (Tirmidhi and Abu dawood).

Salah is imbibed upon Muslims just for remembering Allah. Allah said, “Verily! I am Allah! Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) for My Remembrance.” (Qur’an, Taha:14)

Dhikr actually means to fill one’s heart and mind with the remembrance of Allah to enliven ones self for verily a Muslim finds peace in remembering his Lord. Allah said, “Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah: verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Qur’an, 13:28)

It is the most preferred act for the servants of Allah and much emphasis has been given in the Qur’an for the same. It is the most praiseworthy work to earn Allah’s pleasure, the most effective weapon to overcome the enemy and the most deserving of deeds in reward. Apart from Salah one can remember Allah by reading, reciting, understanding and pondering over the words of the Qur’an. In the Qur’an Allah refers to ‘Adh-dhikr’ that is ‘The Remembrance’ or ‘The Reminder’ 55 times.

Allah said, “By the Qur’an, full of Dhikr.” (Qur’an, Saad: 1) In another verse He said,“This (the Qur’an) is no less than a Dhikr for all the worlds.” (Qur’an, Saad:49)

It also means to remember Allah in all daily activities which we undertake such as getting up in the morning, eating, walking, visiting, etc. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) has taught us the appropriate supplications for every occasion and we should understand and recite them with understanding. We should strive to learn those authentic supplications that were even recited by our Prophet’s (peace be upon him) companions for it is a source of blessing.

Allah said, “O Believers, make abundant mention of Allah!” (Qur’an, 33:41)

“The creation of heaven and earth and the changes of night and day are signs for people who have wisdom: — consider who is described as having wisdom — Those who remember (and recite and call) Allah standing up, sitting, and lying on their sides and throughout the day.” (Qur’an, 3:190-191)

A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned/remembered Allah at all times of the day and night. (Muslim)

We should also remember Allah in gatherings, as Allah said, “I am with my slave when he thinks of Me and I am with him when he mentions Me. For if he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself; and if he mentions Me in a gathering, I mention him in superior gathering. If he approaches Me by a hand’s width, I approach him by an arm’s length, I approach him by two arms length. And if he comes to me walking, I hasten to him swiftly.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever sits and does not mention the Name of Allah (before he rises) will find it a cause of sorrow from Allah. Whoever lies down to sleep and does not mention the name of Allah before rising, will find it a cause of sorrow from Allah.” (Abu Dawud)

Dhikr must be done in a way prescribed by Allah. Reciting something in numbers should be avoided as it will will lead to wastage of good deeds, until and unless it is mentioned in the Qur’an or the Sunnah.

Remembering Allah has many rewards and virtues. It cleans the heart of a Muslim from sins and keeps the tongue moist with words that are dear to Allah, hence avoiding backbiting and slandering. It instills love and fear of Allah in the heart of Muslims. Those who remember their Lord are always surrounded by the Angels of Rahmah (mercy and peace).

CAN REASON UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING?

As the things that are understood through reason are superior to those perceived through sense organs, and as the former may prove the latter wrong, that is, as our sense organs cannot perceive the things comprehended through reason, so reason is incapable of comprehending facts realized at the rank of prophethood. Reason has no other option but to believe. How can reason assess things which it cannot understand? How can it decide if they are right or wrong?

To try to investigate with reason the things that have been understood through convention, in other words, the things which Prophets have explained, is like forcing a loaded cart to go uphill while it can hardly move on a level road. If the horse is whipped uphill, it will either fall down or die from fatigue. Or, in order to get on the level road it is used to, it will turn right or turn left, overturning the cart and spoiling its load. So, if reason is forced to solve the reality of the next world, which it cannot cope with and which it cannot understand, the person will either go out of his mind, or, by attempting to liken it to worldly affairs, which he is accustomed to, he will go astray, become deceived and deceive others.

Reason is a gauge, a tool used to measure things that are like those which can be perceived or felt through the senses or things that are relative to them. Reason can compare them with one another and distinguish the good ones from the bad ones. Since it cannot discern things that have no relation with such things, it will be overwhelmed by them. Then, there is no other way to believe the things communicated by Prophets without consulting reason. It is understood that following Prophets is a necessity indicated by reason, and it is a way which is agreeable with reason. It is an action contrary to reason to attempt to consult reason about a Prophet’s statements, which are beyond and above reason.

As Allahu ta’ala made salat, fasting and alms fard (obligatory) for you, He also made loving Abu Bakr, ’Umar, ’Uthman and Ali fard for you.
