This is the official forum of the fanzine
DITKOMANIA, devoted to the work of comics artist
Steve Ditko! Here you can discuss the fanzine (both its past and present) with other DM readers as well as learn about what's coming up in future issues!
DITKOMANIA was founded by Bill Hall, who published the zine from 1983 to 1999! In 2001, Bill announced DM's retirement, but it was later revived by new editor/publisher Rob Imes with his permission. The new DM picked up where the old numbering left off, with its first issue (#64) being released on March 1st, 2008.
On the right, you can view the cover of the
brand-new issue (#90), which was published on
March 11, 2013. The new issue is 44 B&W pages long (counting the covers) and consists of a lengthy article by
Ron Frantz about his days as publisher of ACE Comics in the 1980s. Ron writes about the
Ooky and Zooky comic written by
Superman co-creator
Jerry Siegel which Ditko was scheduled to draw before plans for the comic fell through. There's also some info about another never-realized Ditko-drawn ACE comic,
The Crypt of the Claw, written by
Mort Todd. All this and the usual informative letters page.
