Subject: Sorrow Can Be Good for Us

i often feel the sorrow and pain while confronting others of their wrongdoing and correcting them with love. Even speaking the truth in love is not easy or comfortable. These days many people do not want to be corrected or even told anything to change. However, one who loves, must confront the wrongdoer so the latter will not perish or ruin his/her life. How painful or difficult it may appear to be, confronting and confession are qualities that enhance one's character and personality.

 

Sometimes forgiving others or ourselves involves pain. When we confront people regarding betrayal, abandonment, abuse, deception, or other offenses, we are likely to be faced with deep sorrow. Even true forgiveness does not always completely remove the pain we feel. We need to accept this kind of pain as part of the consequences of sin and learn to freely express it to God. He can use the pain associated with wrong doing and bring about good in our lives.

 

Not all sorrow is bad for us The Apostle Paul had written a letter to the Corinthians and made them very sad because he confronted them with something that they were doing wrong. At first he was sorry that he had hurt them, but later, he said, "Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to have remorse and change your way. It was the kind of sorrow God wants His people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. For God can use sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek salvation. We will never regret that kind of sorrow" (2 Corinthians 7:9-10).

 

The grief Paul described was good, for it came from honest self-evaluation, not morbid self condemnation. We can learn to accept our sorrow for sin as a positive part of our spiritual growth. Whenever we encounter sorrow, we should ask God to use it to help us redirect the course of our lives.

Subject: Life's Ups and Downs

How strange life appears sometimes! You don't see the conditions the same always. Once you are up and then another time you are down. Some give up hope when they are down and take that extreme step to end it all. But others are brave and wait for the time to go up and experience the fruit of their perseverance. We wonder why it happens and what is the truth behind this up and down life?

 

To see the truth, we must accept reality as it is and still trust God. Reality is not always kind, even when we are seeking God sincerely. Some of us are open to God's leading as long as life remains comfortable, but we close ourselves off to Him when life becomes difficult.

 

The Apostle Paul wrote, " I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little." (Philippians 4:11-12).

 

when Paul wrote these words, he was in a Roman prison, waiting to hear if he would be executed. But instead of complaining, he accepted the reality of life's ups and downs without closing himself off from God. Life always has its ups and downs, and God uses both for His good purposes. God's plan to transform our lives, purify our faith, and strengthen our character continues to unfold, both in good times and in bad. We must maintain openness toward God at all times so that we will be able to accept our true spiritual conditon.

 

" I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. " Philippians 4:13.

Subject: Our Shield of Togetherness

Today many feel lonely in the world of crowds. Because all are busy in their own lives and have no time or concern to mind others' burdens. As a result some are resorting to fatal actions to end their lives as they feel they have nobody to love or care for them. We all expect others who can stand with us in times of crises and also share in our joys. It is natural and human to think so.

 

Life is like a battle and you can't fight it alone. Sometimes, life's challenges seem so tough that you alone can't face them or win over them. You seek for help and often it may not be available as and when you need it. But we have been given hope that there are people whom God has placed in our lives and around us who are meant to help us. We need to be aware of and be part of such a circle of people who care for you and support you.

 

Preserving our spiritual gains often involves spiritual warfare and God does not expect us to win our spiritual battles alone. God wants us to grow spiritually in a network of mutual commitment and accountability, where we help each other to think and live in new ways. Alone we are vulnerable to temptation. Together we form a shield of protection for one another. The Apostle Paul wrote, "In every battle, you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan" (Ephesians 6:16). Faith here refers to trusting in Christ for salvation. In general terms, it also means staying true to our convictions. The shield of faith was likened to the shields carried by the Roman soldiers, which were able to cover the entire body. To advance in battle, a group of soldiers would assemble together making a wall of shields for protection as they moved forward.

 

In like manner, we are told to stick together. The writer of Hebrews wrote, "Let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, but encourage and warn each other" (Hebrews 10:25). We are to meet together with other believers so that we can stand firm in times of spiritual battle. Our encouragement of one another and our shared faith in God and His Word will serve as a shield to preserve our spiritual gains.

Subject: Letting Go of Hatred

What motivates people to use bombs to kill and destroy? Hatred! Why people who loved ones begin fighting and separate? Hatred! It is only one step to kill and destroy others when hatred appears in the heart. That's why the Lord Jesus explained the law in a new and deeper way, saying, if you hate anyone, you have already murdered him! Hatred begins where love ends. Hatred becomes active when love is cold and dead.

 

It's easy to say we love God, but it's not so easy to love other people. Yet true faith in God should lead us to grow in love for God and others. In fact, God has so intertwined our love for Him with our love for others that when we seek God and surrender to Him, He requires us to give up our hatred and prejudice. We must do this through forgiveness.

 

John the Apostle wrote, "God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them" (1 John 4:16).. And also, " if someone says,'I love God,' but hates a brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? And God Himself has commanded that we must love not only Him, but our brothers and sisters in the Lord, too (1 John 4:20,21).

 

God doesn't give us the option of hating others while while we love Him.He doesn't even give us the option of hating our enemies. Jesus said, "But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Pray for the happiness of those who curse you.Pray for those who hurt you" (Luke 6:27-28).When we surrender to God, we must be willing to surrender our hatred as well. That requires us to forgive.

 

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Subject: : Looking in the Mirror

How many times do we look into the mirror each day? Most of us check our appearance quite frequently, and if we notice, for example, that we have something smeared around our mouth, we immediately wipe off our face and clear up the problem. In the same way, we need to routinely look at ourselves in a spiritual mirror, reflecting honestly on our spiritual condition as compared to God's Word. Then we need to make any necessary changes.

 

James says that God's Word is like a spiritual mirror. He said, "If you just listen and don't obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like, But if you keep looking steadily into God's perfect law -the law that sets you free- and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard , then God will bless you for doing it" (James 1:23-25).

 

We need to regularly examine our lives by looking into God's Word. If we see that we have fallen short of something God requires, we need to take responsibility for it and take immediate action to correct it. Seeing the truth about our behavior is necessary for our transformation and advancement in life.

Subject: Lif is Unfair! How to Respond to Adversity?

These days, we hear so much tragedies happening all over the world. The innocent teens shot at in Norway shocked the world. And such terrible massacre was perpetrated by none other than a fanatical young man who claimed to be a fundamental Christian!! This was more shocking to hear. There are incidents of terrorism rocking many parts of the world including India.

 

When we hear such news, we become so saddened and depressed thinking why such things happen? Some even get disappointed with God and lose faith in Him. The Bible is full of men sinking into despondency precisely for this reason. Peter and the other disciples after crucifixion of Christ. Elijah when he heard of the threats of Jezebel. David when his son Absalom pursued him. The list goes on.

 

But why things happen like that?

Sometimes we experience adversities because of our own folly or sin. Part of maturity is to accept my mistakes, admit my sins and hopefully learn from the experience.

 

Adversities as a result of our own folly are almost easier to bear. But not all setbacks can be attributed to personal sins or folly. And this presents the believer with a number of thorny epistemological questions: "How can an Omnipotent God let bad things happen to me unless He is powerless to preventing them and therefore protecting me?" "How can a loving God allow nearly 90 innocent teenagers perish in the recent massacre in Norway?" Such questions can not be satisfied even if one proposes that there may have been some greater purpose behind this disappointment or disaster. One could argue if God could not have chosen a less painful way of driving home His point. To take this argument to the extreme, what possible explanation can one have in response to the death of the millions, many of whom were innocent children, in the Second World War?

 

How to Respond to all this?

The inability to have a reasonable way of understanding such events led many to the conclusion that God must surely be dead. If not dead, then aloof and removed from intervening in human events. Or perhaps powerless. This was the very place God began in His response to Job (Job 38). Instead of explaining Himself or justifying His actions, God simply reasserted who He is. Thus whilst we are unable to understand God's actions, our lack of understanding does not mean that God is not who He proclaims Himself to be. It is our lack of wisdom, or more correctly our lack of faith that is on trial, not God. God does not require us to understand- only believe that He is who He said He is. Thus the response to events that go wrong or do not go our way should be to remain faithful to Him.

What we need to guard against is not being able to see the bigger picture and only focus on the immediacy of the loss. The bigger picture is reflected in the encouraging words, "be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming." (James 5:7) We are reminded that makind though lost and fallen is not doomed to repeat the follies of history. With every successive rise of oppressive regimes and wicked dictators, we are reminded that the Lord's Second Coming draws nearer. When that happens, everyone will be required to give an account for his actions. When He comes again, all our human striving and suffering will come to an end. Thus, as believers in God, our response should be to continue to acknowledge the supreme wisdom and power of God. And when our strong emotions are allowed to be experienced and given vent, we can then acknowledge the supremacy of God over all events including those that affect our lives.

 

How should we live in the face of adversities that were not of our making?

First, remind ourselves of who God is and chose to remain faithful to Him.

Second, grieve if we must.

And finally, remember that the Lord is coming when all wrongs will be made right.

If the wait seemed long to us, it is only because a thousand years is to the Lord as one day and one day as a thousand years.

In the meantime, don't let your experience go to waste. Comfort others with the comfort that you yourself have been comforted with. You know someone experiencing hardship? Be a supportive friend. Allow the aggrieved person the opportunity to be his or her true self. Let them express their feelings freely. We offer this type of supportive relationship by being available. Accepting and not judging nor condemning their actions is also helpful in showing support. We can also be helpful by being sensitive to the needs of the hurt individual.

 

Our Lord is coming back soon. And when He does, He will establish justice. His promise provides hope for the future and a balm for the present disappointments.

Subject: How to Choose Your Friends?

Friends play a major role in shaping our lives, for good or evil. That's why God's word is insistent in reminding us that "bad company corrupts good character"

(1 Cor. 15:33). How can we choose godly friends?

Let's look at seven important questions to consider when doing so.

 

1. Do they have a good track record? Many people "talk the talk", but are they also walking it? Lord Jesus said," A tree is recognized by its fruit" (Mt. 12:33).

 

2. Do they respect your principles? You say that sex should be saved for marriage. Do they keep pushing you to compromise your stand? "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ" (Col. 2:8). A person who does this is no friend.

 

3. Do they give to as well as receive from you? Good friends do both. Some times God gives you something for them, and other times He give them something for you. "The pleasantness of one's friend springs from his earnest counsel"

(Prov. 27:9).

 

4. Do they sharpen your life? Are you improved by being with them? Good friends challenge and encourage you to excellence. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Prov. 27:17).

 

5. Do they build you up? Because of their own low self-esteem, some people love to tear others down with their words. But God wants you built up, not beat up by other people's self-interest. "encourage one another and build each other up" (1 Thess. 5:11).

6. Do they treat others well? Someone once said that the quickest way to find out what a person is like is to listen to what he says about others. If people are always judging others they will do the same to you as well. "Let us stop passing judgement on one another" (Rom. 14:13).

 

7. Do they encourage your destiny? Good friends will believe in you more than yuou believe in yourself. They can see something in you that nobody else sees. They don't want to exploit your gifts or manipulate you for their personal advantage, but want to see you reach your full potential. "A friend loveth at all times" (Prov. 17:17).

 

Here's the bottom line: If you want to grow spiritually and mazimize your God-given gifts, choose your friends wisely. And remember, "A man who has friends must himself be friendly" (Prov. 18:24). And keep in mind that someone considering you as a friend must be able to ask these seven questions about you as well.

Subject: What Will You Do When Disaster Comes ?

As the world remembered 10 years of 9/11 attacks in general and America in particular, what thoughts go through our minds? We are all so depressed and saddened by what has happened to Columbia Spaceshuttle. It was so sudden and unexpected. What a terrible blow to human technology and pride.

What are the immediate thoughts that cross our minds? Life is so uncertain! Anything can happen anytime and anywhere! Even the 9/11 tragedy so clearly depicts the limits to human power and achievements.

 

What should we do in such times like these? How can we live in hope, peace and joy inspite of such dangers expected anytime? What would you do if the cities in your country were leveled by missiles or enemy bombers? How would you react if an earthquake cut off all communication water and electrical sources? What would you do if a group of terrorists held you hostage? The need for turning to God has ever been more urgent!

 

Our Spiritual Survival Kit: If we want to have resources in our possession for a day of disaster, we need to have a spiritual survival kit: God's storehouse of supplies for us. But we must meet some requirements before we can receive the abundance:

 

First, we need to make sure of our relationship to God. We must be prepared to meet God at any moment. Isn't it strange how we prepare for so many things except meeting God? Getting to know God and being able to call on Him is the first step in storing up for the storms. Getting to know God is more than treating Him as a casual acquaintance - its developing a deeper relationship with Him every day.

 

Second, we need to learn how to walk with God in our daily lives. Have you ever been asked, "How is your walk?" Some will know immediately that you are asking about their walk with God, but others may say, "Well, I do about two miles a day." I know people who seem to be holding the hand of God throughout life's journey. I also know people who are lagging far behind. In the Old Testament there are vivid examples of people who walked with God. Abraham walked with God and was called a friend of God. Noah walked with God , and when the Flood came, Noah was saved. Moses walked with God, and when the hour of judgement fell upon Egypt, Moses led his people to victory Daniel walked with God, and he was saved from the lions' den. God does not always pull His children out of deep water. Peter was crucified upside down; Andrew was tied to a cross for three days before he died; John was a prisoner on a desolate island; Bartholomew was beaten; Thomas was murdered. These men walked with God,. And today we too have access to that same strength that the apostles did.

 

Third, we need to read and memorize Scripture. We have heard many stories about people who, while in prison camps, had no Bibles but who had portions of Scripture committed to memory. One person in a prison camp for three years said that during his imprisonment, his greatest regret was not having memorized more of the Bible. People have told me that in their suffering, they sometimes could only remember small parts of Scripture. I urge you too to memorize it and hide it away in your heart. When persecution, trouble and adversity arise, these verses will give you hope and strength. What a great storehouse we will have when those thoughts are in our hearts! What verses have you stored up for the future?

 

Fourth, we need to make prayer our priority. We live in a materialistic world, but it seems as if we pray only during a crisis, and then between crises we neglect to pray. But we have so many battles going on that we should be a people of prayer! Our government needs our prayers. Our leaders need our prayers. Our schools need our prayers. Our youth need our prayers. Our families need our prayers. Are we prepared spiritually as individuals, as a nation, for the increasing attacks upon us? We have "spiritual forces of evil" at work in our world. Depravity seems to be increasing every year. We need to be in prayer against those "powers of darkness."

 

In the Bible is an account of prayer being used as a weapon against a wicked ruler. Sennacherib, an Assyrian leader, had boasted that he would defeat God's people and would take over their land. His propaganda machine was powerful. He sent messages to Israel, taunting the people about their weakness and boasting of his strength. In the arms race of their day, the Assyrians were definitely ahead. But Israel's king, Hezekiah, was a man of faith. He knew that on a purely human level the Assyrians could destroy Israel. But Hezekiah had a secret weapon. He fell on his knees in prayer. Look what happened: "The Lord sent an angel who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. Sennacherib withdrew to his own land in disgrace. The Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem….He took care of them on every side."

 

Miracles have happened when God's people have turned to Him in prayer. God does not always deliver us out of catastrophe, but He promises to be with us throughout.

 

God's Storehouse for Us Even after many years of severe restrictions, the Church in China has survived. How can this be? Because of small groups of believers who, though often driven "underground," have managed to meet regularly with the Word. Despite the concerted effort to destroy all the Bibles in China, some copies survived. The small groups of Christians meet around the Word and are nurtured by the Bible and by verses that believers have memorized. Even in prisons and labor camps Chinese Christians have let the flame of their faith burn brightly, and they have been used to lead other Chinese to Jesus Christ. And consequently, even under persecution, the number of Christians has multiplied.

 

What about us? Are we preparing for the storms of suffering? Or will we be caught without resources? The best way to prepare is to deepen our spiritual lives, to deepen our life in the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is an ongoing experience. When Paul wrote, "Be filled with the spirit," he conveyed the idea that we keep on being filled with the Spirit, like and ever-flowing spring. We have God's storehouses available to us at all times. When the resources are needed, they are there for us. So be prepared. When the "day of evil" comes, we will not be controlled by the circumstance around us; rather, we will depend on the resources of God.

Subject: Why We Can't Live Without Hope?

How to Keep Hope Alive...For Tomorrow We Cannot Control.

 

The great Reformist, Martin Luther once said: "Everything that is done in the world is done by hope." Researchers have found that a hopeful attitude can lead to courage in the face of danger and to perseverance in the midst of despair.

 

"Hope is an amazing God-given gift. It fuels your dreams, lightens your spirits, and lifts your despair. When life becomes a battlefield, hope digs in and fights the good fight", writes Lewis Smedes in "Standing on the Promises."

 

Real Experience

How often we feel hopeless when we see the downsliding financial situation in the world and many other things like escalating inflation high bank credit/loan rates, Petrol prices, etc,etc. Many people even lost hope to live when they face problems in relationships and families. Some give up hope to live and end it all by committing suicide. Daily we read of people losing hope to live in this world. And many don't havce any hope for the next world after death. What a tragedy to see people with so much live for, do not see any reason to live or enjoy life! Even so-called celebrities have lost hope and ended their lives violently. Why all these things happening? Why people don't have hope or lose hope? How can we live with hope and enjoy life to the full? Here are the answers, as you read this.

 

Why feel hopeless?

When you don't see any need to live, you do not want to live. But what should make us to live? Each of us lives in settings where we are surrounded by desperate people. Often characterised by feelings of uselessness, meaninglessness, purposelessness, and hopelessness. Such a plight is a severe plight-An unknown author has said : One can live without money, fame, and family. But one cannot live without hope. William Barclay adds these words : There are no hopeless situations in life. There are only individuals who have grown hopeless about them. Often, many find no reason and motivation to live, once something you were holding onto snaps, you fall.

 

The Reasons for Life

First of all, we live because we are created to live this life till the time comes to go. You are worth more than you imagine. There does not exist among the millions of beings that live on earth another being like you nor another with the same fingerprints. Don't lose the opportunity to learn and improve yourself more eachday, to understand the special and elevated reason that brought you to live on this planet ... because you are better than you think you are.

 

It is the Creator's plan to place us in this world with a definite purpose and program. It is to know Him and glorify Him. Many are trapped in the worldly pleasures and materialism and never come to realize who and where God is in their lives. Many are in so-called "Maya"- the illusion of this world. Apostle John says about what is in this world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, which are not from the Father who created us and gave us this life" (1 John 2:15-17). And so as they are temporal so also we live a very indefinite and hopeless lives, ready to end due to any small problem. When you try to make yourself happy by the things in this world apart from the Creator who alone can give you abundant life, you will have no hope at all when overwhelmed by the pressures of this sinful world. But when we get salvation out of this self-centred and selfish living, can we make this life truly meaningful and wonderful to live.

 

Secondly, you have to live because there are people who need you. In fact, the world depends upon you for its survival and sustenance. Each of us have specific responsibilities to fulfill towards others. Just think of a loving wife and child depending upon their man to care for them and he is suddenly no more! Will their lives be the same again? Will they live with that original joy and excitement that life gave them initially? That's the tragedy when one man loses hope and can not see beyond his own selfish thinking.

 

When you always think of making yourself happy and expect others to continuously meet your demands, you are going to miss the hope to live. You have to consider the needs of others and place yourself in their shoes to see from their perspective that they need you rather than you need them. As you make every effort to realize the purpose of your life and keep in focus your responsibility towards others in your family, community and society at large, you will find meaning and worth in your living.

 

So commit yourself this year to celebrate life itself by living it more responsibly towards the Creator God and His creation, the world around you. Keep your hope alive, for there is always something better ahead. God has promised Eternal Life to all those who come to Him in true repentance and faith. Abundant Life and Joy are His wonderful gifts. Ask, and you shall recieve, seek and you will find and knock and the door shall be opened unto you. Never give up when you fail to get what you want. Hope can get you everything oneday. Wait for that Final day-you will be victorious. Live Today to the full. Today is your day. Hope for better tomorrow.

Your life is God's good gift to you. No matter how difficult your circumstances, your life has far more potential than you have ever realized. Your life has only begun. It is your great opportunity. It is yours to invest or to waste. You can do more significant things with your life than you have ever realized, and this message is written to help you make a wise investment of it. No matter what your age, it is never too late to start planning and investing for eternity.

 

You were created for life. In fact, it is impossible for you to cease to exist. Once created, no human being can escape existence. The question is, will it be only existence? Or, will it be life in the fullest, most wonderful sense of that term? It is not merely a question of heaven or hell. It is a question of all that heaven can include for you. The Bible points to great differences in the rewards of heaven. More than you have realized your future reward is in your own hands. Your daily choices have eternal consequences, and God does not choose for you. You yourself must choose wisely.

 

God has a wonderful plan for you. Lord Jesus came that you might have life in its most wonderful sense, "and have it to the full" (John 10:10). No matter how good your life is, Jesus wants to make it better. No matter how satisfying it has been thus far, Jesus wants to make your future far more satisfying. God always has tremendous plans for you. Let me remind you again: "I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer.29: 11). As surely as God is in heaven, He has better plans for you tomorrow than you have ever realized thus far. The question is this: will you use your today so that your tomorrow can be the greatest possible?

 

Our life is surviving on two main resources. One is TIME and the other is MONEY. Everything we do revolve around these two main resources. And we become whatever we are based on how we use time and money- for what purpose and what we get finally. These two are gifts. Though time is given to all equally, money is not so. We acquire money depending on various factors.

 

However, your happiness and satisfaction is based on how wisely you budget and spend these and what you achieve ultimately. If you understand, you are given one more year to do and live your life to the full, then you need to take every possible step to harness these to the maximum benefit, to you, to your fellowhuman beings as well as to the Creator and Giver of all these gifts.

 

Plan your daily life in such a way that you are in the centre of God's plans for you. As you put into use your time and money, this year, more wisely and with understanding of their value, you will not regret later for the wasted resources. He gives more to those who prove faithful in using the little or whatever He has already given. Will you make the right decision and use your life today so God can carry out His full plans for your tomorrow?

World mourned for Steve Jobs. Media discussed threadbare the life and legacy of such a rare innovator. Some began challenging others that though Steve was a child of an unwed graduate and was put up for adoption and quit college, yet he became successful! So we should not give excuses for not doing our best to achieve great things in life..

 

Well, I began to think about such a great man the world stood and took note of. What about his salvation? Did he care for his soul even when he knew for sure, he was dying slowly but certainly? Did his success blinded him not to give a though to salvation of his soul? What did he do with the Lord Jesus whom every human being has to face and decide what to do?

 

Steve might have won the whole world in in terms of fame and fortune. But what about his soul? The Scripture says: " For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matthew 16:26.

 

Let us learn some important truths from some real stories of great success that ultimately failed.

 

Solomon achieved everything he could ever have desired-wealth, success, prestige, and power. But his experience illustrates that success can lead to failure if we are not careful, especially when we claim sole responsibility for our achievements. When we think we have it made, we are probably on our way to a fall. Solomon, is his success,became proud and stubborn before God. He >refused to hear the warnings God gave him and later suffered the consequences ( see 1 Kings 11:9-11).

 

Serious Problems Across Generations

King David's weakness with women became a weakness in Solomon. Solomon did not limit his sexual behavior according to God's commands. As serious problems cross over into the next generation, they are often intensified, and become even more destructive. In David's case, his sin with Bathsheba led to painful consequences within his family. In Solomon's case, his lust resulted in his marrying many foreign women who then led him into idolatry. This ultimately led his people away from God, affecting the whole nation of Israel.

 

The Importance of Accountability

We need to be accountable to someone who will be honest with us. Such a person will confront us and help us see our sin. When Solomon stopped listening to God, no one could get his attention. The same was true of the kings who followed him- they were accountable to no one.They were too proud to listen to God's Word to them through the prophets.The result was sin and failure, which led to sin among their people. We would be wise to humble ourselves, continually reflect on our spiritual condition, remain accountable to others, and be open to wise counsel.

One of the best ways for God to show forth His power is to manifest it through an otherwise weak or handicapped vessel. God was giving Paul, the Apostle a general principle. According to this principle, the weaker something is, the greater its need for strengtth. When what is weak is finally strengthened, the presence of renewed strength is more noticeable by comparison.

 

For this reason, God allows adversity to enter our experience: not for the purpose of making us weak and incapable of going on with our lives, but for the purpose of enabling us by His strength to do what otherwise would be impossible.

 

God's Perspective

 

From God's perspective, it was more important for Paul to experience supernatural power than it was for him to live a pain-free, adversity-free life. The closer you look at Paul's life, the more difficult that is to accept. He was stoned and left for dead, shipwrecked, beaten, bitten by a snake and finally imprisoned-all for Christ's sake. When all was said and done Paul's response was this:

 

"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." 2Corinthians 12:10.

 

I have seen men and women emerge from far less strenuous circmstances than Paul's full of anger and hostility. They were mad at God for what He did to them. But not Paul. Why? Because he recognized that what God allowed to be done to him was simply preparation for what He wanted to do for him. As Paul grew more and more dependent upon the Lord for strength, it became second nature to him. His faith in Christ grew to the point that he could say with all sincerity, "I am well content with weakness."

 

The whole idea of being content with weakness contradicts the messages society sends us. In an age of power lunches and power ties, it is unusual for people to get very excited about living in a state of weakness. But upon examining the life of the apostle Paul, one hardly gets impression that he was a weak man.So how do we reconcile Paul's claim to weakness with his amazing accomplishments? Simple, the answer is in the phrase, "when I am weak, then I am strong."

 

In Search of the Weak

 

God wants to work through our weaknesses in the same way He worked through the apostle Paul's. You may have been born with characteristics you consider weaknesses. Or you may have been born into a family that did not provide you with the things you think are necessary for success. Perhaps a recent tragedy or illness has left you wondering about your usefulness or self-worth.

 

If any of these situations sound familiar to you, rejoice! You are just the type of person God is looking for. He wants people through whom He can show off His mighty power, people who know their weaknesses and are willing to allow Him to control and direct their lives. God is looking for men and women who are willing to take on challenges too difficult for them to handle, trusting Him to carry the load. He wants people who understand from experience what Paul meant when he wrote,"My (God's) grace is sufficient for you." Believers who grow accustomed to weakness, but who draw daily upon the sufficiency and power of Christ!

 

I want you to think about something at this point. Your biggest weakness is God's greatest opportunity. Instead of complaining and begging God to change your circumstances, why not ask Him to fill that void with His strength? God has allowed adversity into your life to loosen your dependence on your own strength. It is His desire that you learn to live in dependence on Him for those things you lack. As you grow more and more accustomed to this arrangement, you will actually begin to sense contentment. His power will be perfected in you. And as make yourself available, His power will be demonstrated through you to the lives of others. And with the apostle Paul you will be able to boast in your weakness. For when you are weak, then He is strong!

Subject: 3 Tests Of True LOVE

"Wherefore show ye to them..., the proof of your love" (2 Cor. 8:24). Love is capable of demonstration. Where it really exists, it will manifest itself. It need not be made known by mere assertion. We are told to love not in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. In these days there are many who, like some of old, show much love with their mouths while their hearts are far from God. The test of our love is not how much we talk about it, but how much we manifest it in our lives. There are three tests of love, which never fail to show exactly just how much we love. Let us consider them in order.

 

1. How Much We Serve

 

We are told that Jacob, in the O.T. history, loved Rachel so much that he served seven years for her, and that those years seemed to him as only a few days. Love makes people willing-hearted. There are many things to do; there are many ways to serve; and love prompts us to serve wherever possible. If we have love in our hearts, our hands will always be ready for service. Many people always look for others to serve them; but when it comes to the labor and responsibility connected with anything, willingness suddenly disappears. The test of their love proves that love is wanting. That's the reason many people get so few blessings because they do not love enough to serve.

 

There are duties for all. There are opportunities everywhere. Every one of them is a test of love. Friend, how does your love stand the test? Love will not grumble; it will not complain; it will not shirk from service. Do you love as fervently as you ought? Demonstrate it in your family, in your community, etc.

 

2. How Much We Sacrifice

 

The mother who loves her child thinks no sacrifice too great for it. Even her life will she give for it, if need be. The man who loves his country will, if the need should arise, count no sacrifice too great. He who loves God as truly as the mother loves her child or the patriot loves his country is willing to sacrifice for God. Abraham proved his love by not withholding his son. He offered him freely in obedience to God's command. Paul loved, and as a result he counted not his life dear to himself so that he might do the work of God. Christ so loved the world that he sacrificed everything for our salvation.

 

Many persons spend willingly and even lavishly for self who give sparingly and reluctantly to God. They spend more for their pleasures than they give. Some spend more for candy than they give to God's work. Some spend more for gasoline for pleasure-riding than they give to all causes. In fact, some spend so much on their own selfish desires that often say, "I can not give much to others." They might feel disposed to give if they had anything to give, but are they willing to deny themselves of some self-gratification in order to have something to give? There is the test of love that proves its real direction-whether it runs our self-ward or God-ward. If we love God and others as much as we love self, we can spend money for them just as willingly and with as little reluctance or regret to see it go as if it were being spent for ourselves. If we can not spend for God and his work more willingly than for self, it is because we do not love him more than self. If we do not get more pleasure out of giving than we do out of consuming, we may well question both the amount and quality of our love and its direction.

 

There is no way to avoid the issue. The fact is, there are too many whose love is wanting in that quality which draws out their hearts into the work of God until they are willing to sacrifice for it. It is true that there are many who do love and who prove it by their sacrifices. But it is just as true that there are many others who do not deny themselves and will not even from a sense of duty, to say nothing of making willing sacrifices through the prompting of love.

 

It is time that we heard more of the practical side of love practiced by people. A sacrificing person will be blessed if the sacrifice is prompted by love. People who are willing to serve and sacrifice have true love.

 

3. How Much We Endure

 

Christ proved his love by enduring the scoffs and ill-treatment of the people and the shame and suffering of the cross. By this He proved His love to be real. If our love is genuine, we will rejoice in our sifferings for God and others. Paul endured all things for the elect's sake, that they might be saved. If we cannot endure the little persecutions, the unkind words, the sneering smiles, the scoffs and jeers, of the unbelieving world, is it not because our love lacks fervency? Those who want to show love will endure hardships and perils and suffer in a thousand ways. Love that cannot endure hardness, misrepresentation, neglect, and such things, and still be sweet and strong, needs to be increased.

 

Love makes service sweet, sacrifice easy, and meek endurance possible. Love enriches, ennobles, and blesses. It sweetens the bitter cup; it lightens the heavy load. It strengthens the faltering soul. Let us, therefore, see that we have fervent love toward God, toward each other, and toward others in the world.

Subject: How to Beat the Busyness!

In the fast-paced world of the "instant," we have been led to believe that we can and must do everything in a hurry. If we can't do it quickly, it's not worth doing. Anything that takes time is irritating and frustrating.

We're trying to develop our walk with God, build our marriages, raise our children, enjoy a quiet and peaceful life, and climb to the top of the corporate ladder, all in a rush. But it can't be done, because much time and energy must be invested in each of these endeavors to be successful.

 

 

In Psalm 46:10 we read, "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 23:2-3 reminds us that, "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul." Isaiah 30:15 says, "In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." Or, consider Isaiah 40:31: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." It was Jesus who said to His disciples in Mark 6:31, "Come ye yourselves apart ... and rest a while." Do we see what these verses are saying? Living in a rush is not the answer! In fact, it is much more of a hindrance than a help.

Mrs. Charles Cowman, in her devotional entitled Streams in the Desert, says, "Your life needs days of retirement, when it shuts the gates upon the noisy whirl of action and is alone with God." It has been rightly said that, "quietness is not the opposite of noise, but the absence of excitement, haste, and constant confusion." Another has written, "Learn the art of stillness. It is safety, solace, and strength."

You see, busyness is our greatest hindrance to the enjoyment God intends for us. It's no sin to be busy, but it is a sin to be so busy with unimportant things that they crowd out important things.

 

 

Curse

Why is busyness a curse? Because of the way it burdens us. It has a tendency to weary us and get us down. It's like running on a treadmill. It makes us tired going nowhere. It also bewilders us. We get confused about what is really important. The less important things crowd out the most important. It also binds us. It turns us into slaves instead of servants. We become so enslaved to schedules, activities, programs and people that we can't fulfill our priority responsibilities to the Lord and our families. Lastly, busyness is a curse because it blinds us. It gives us a distorted perspective on life. We are unable to see things the way God does.

 

 

Cause

What is the cause of busyness? Basically, we lack the discipline to say "No!" We fear making ourselves look bad or disappointing someone. (But why is it so easy to say, "No" to God or our family?). We also lack balance, allowing life to become too "heavy" in some areas while other areas are totally neglected. When we fail to properly prioritize, we get things all mixed up and out of order. And we also have an improper perspective, and confuse the unimportant with the important.

 

 

Cure

Is there a cure for busyness? Thank God there is! It requires knowing the difference between what matters and what doesn't. That's why it's essential to have biblically based right values. If we live by this world's values everything will be out of order. We must also have right priorities, getting things in their rightful order and keeping them there. And a right perspective enables us to see things clearly. Only then can we determine the difference between what's good, better, and best from God's point of view. Finally, there must be right motives, being sure that what we do will count for eternity and bring glory to God.

So many people tell us that their lives are out of control with busyness, and they don't know what to do about it. If that's where you are, perhaps these suggestions can help you get your life back in order. Remember, rest is not a sedative for the sick, but a tonic for the strong!

Subject: What Will You Do When Disaster Comes ?

On 26/11 India observed the 3rd anniversary of terrorist attacks in Mumbai. So many innocent people were killed. As i read what people said and saw on TV some details of the unforgettable tragedy, I could not accept why such things happen? It is really beyond anyone's imagination or rationalization about what happened and why it happened, etc.

 

We are all so depressed and saddened by what has happened to Columbia Spaceshuttle. It was so sudden and unexpected. What a terrible blow to human technology and pride.

 

What are the immediate thoughts that cross our minds? Life is so uncertain! Anything can happen anytime and anywhere! Even the 9/11 tragedy so clearly depicts the limits to human power and achievements.

 

What should we do in such times like these? How can we live in hope, peace and joy inspite of such dangers expected anytime? What would you do if the cities in your country were leveled by missiles or enemy bombers? How would you react if an earthquake cut off all communication water and electrical sources? What would you do if a group of terrorists held you hostage? The need for turning to God has ever been more urgent!

 

Our Spiritual Survival Kit: If we want to have resources in our possession for a day of disaster, we need to have a spiritual survival kit: God's storehouse of supplies for us. But we must meet some requirements before we can receive the abundance:

 

First, we need to make sure of our relationship to God. We must be prepared to meet God at any moment. Isn't it strange how we prepare for so many things except meeting God? Getting to know God and being able to call on Him is the first step in storing up for the storms. Getting to know God is more than treating Him as a casual acquaintance - its developing a deeper relationship with Him every day.

 

Second, we need to learn how to walk with God in our daily lives. Have you ever been asked, "How is your walk?" Some will know immediately that you are asking about their walk with God, but others may say, "Well, I do about two miles a day." I know people who seem to be holding the hand of God throughout life's journey. I also know people who are lagging far behind. In the Old Testament there are vivid examples of people who walked with God. Abraham walked with God and was called a friend of God. Noah walked with God , and when the Flood came, Noah was saved. Moses walked with God, and when the hour of judgement fell upon Egypt, Moses led his people to victory Daniel walked with God, and he was saved from the lions' den. God does not always pull His children out of deep water. Peter was crucified upside down; Andrew was tied to a cross for three days before he died; John was a prisoner on a desolate island; Bartholomew was beaten; Thomas was murdered. These men walked with God,. And today we too have access to that same strength that the apostles did.

 

Third, we need to read and memorize Scripture. We have heard many stories about people who, while in prison camps, had no Bibles but who had portions of Scripture committed to memory. One person in a prison camp for three years said that during his imprisonment, his greatest regret was not having memorized more of the Bible. People have told me that in their suffering, they sometimes could only remember small parts of Scripture. I urge you too to memorize it and hide it away in your heart. When persecution, trouble and adversity arise, these verses will give you hope and strength. What a great storehouse we will have when those thoughts are in our hearts! What verses have you stored up for the future?

 

Fourth, we need to make prayer our priority. We live in a materialistic world, but it seems as if we pray only during a crisis, and then between crises we neglect to pray. But we have so many battles going on that we should be a people of prayer! Our government needs our prayers. Our leaders need our prayers. Our schools need our prayers. Our youth need our prayers. Our families need our prayers. Are we prepared spiritually as individuals, as a nation, for the increasing attacks upon us? We have "spiritual forces of evil" at work in our world. Depravity seems to be increasing every year. We need to be in prayer against those "powers of darkness."

 

In the Bible is an account of prayer being used as a weapon against a wicked ruler. Sennacherib, an Assyrian leader, had boasted that he would defeat God's people and would take over their land. His propaganda machine was powerful. He sent messages to Israel, taunting the people about their weakness and boasting of his strength. In the arms race of their day, the Assyrians were definitely ahead. But Israel's king, Hezekiah, was a man of faith. He knew that on a purely human level the Assyrians could destroy Israel. But Hezekiah had a secret weapon. He fell on his knees in prayer. Look what happened: "The Lord sent an angel who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. Sennacherib withdrew to his own land in disgrace. The Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem….He took care of them on every side."

 

Miracles have happened when God's people have turned to Him in prayer. God does not always deliver us out of catastrophe, but He promises to be with us throughout.

 

God's Storehouse for Us:  Even after many years of severe restrictions, the Church in China has survived. How can this be? Because of small groups of believers who, though often driven "underground," have managed to meet regularly with the Word. Despite the concerted effort to destroy all the Bibles in China, some copies survived. The small groups of Christians meet around the Word and are nurtured by the Bible and by verses that believers have memorized. Even in prisons and labor camps Chinese Christians have let the flame of their faith burn brightly, and they have been used to lead other Chinese to Jesus Christ. And consequently, even under persecution, the number of Christians has multiplied.

 

What about us? Are we preparing for the storms of suffering? Or will we be caught without resources? The best way to prepare is to deepen our spiritual lives, to deepen our life in the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is an ongoing experience. When Paul wrote, "Be filled with the spirit," he conveyed the idea that we keep on being filled with the Spirit, like and ever-flowing spring. We have God's storehouses available to us at all times. When the resources are needed, they are there for us. So be prepared. When the "day of evil" comes, we will not be controlled by the circumstance around us; rather, we will depend on the resources of God.

Subject: Living Life Reflectively- Questions to Reflect on

As we approach the end of this year, it is time to reflect how we lived or living our lives and to take the necxessary steps to improve as much as possible.

 

Here are some questions that may help in our reflections those deliberate, thoughtful pauses that we need to create in the whirlwind of life.

 

ü  Where am I heading? ...in my job, my business, my family, my relationships...? Is where I am where I want to be? Is where I am bringing me to where I want to be?

 

ü  What am I doing now? Is it what I really want to do? Would I be very happy at the end of my life that I had done what I am doing now? Am I doing what I am doing because that's God's best for me, or am I just pleasing others...my spouse, my pastor, my friends, my family?

 

ü  Am I growing in my job? Am I growing my job? Am I doing different and new things regularly that stretch my potential and myself, or am I just repeating the same old stuff that keeps me on a perpetual plateau?

 

ü  Am I growing in my relationship with God? Is He occupying a greater and greater part of my life, including my thoughts, my heart, my finances, my priorities, and my time? Am I growing in my knowledge of God? DO I know more about Him today than yesterday, not just mind-knowledge, but in heart and experience? Do I detect His hand in every incident of everyday? Am I seeking more and more of Him than the goodies in His hand?

 

ü  Am I growing in my marriage? Is it becoming better and fresher or is it degenerating into staleness and sluggishness? Am I taking my spouse for granted or am I more and more thankful that I have this person for my spouse? Are we sharing more or are we drifting further and further apart? Is the romance still alive or has life been reduced to grocery lists and children's needs?

 

ü  Am I growing in love? In patience and kindness? Am I becoming more calm and collected, or am I getting more touchy, demanding, and resentful? Do people matter than results to me? Do I care more about relationships than things? Do I think well of others or am I continually submerged by critical and unforgiving thoughts?

 

ü  Am I growing in faith? Do I believe God to provide, or have I succumbed to the worldly way of getting things? Am I walking by faith or by sight? Am I asking God for the impossible or has my God become too small to meet all my needs and desires?

 

ü  Are my children more and more blessed? What part am I playing in their lives? Are they learning the fear of the Lord from me, or do they see in me the image of Mammon? Are they better off because I am their parent, or are they limited because of my neglect? Do I know my children more today than yesterday? Are they sharing with me their secrets, hopes, dreams, problems, and heartaches? Am I spending quality time with them?

 

 

As you reflect on the foregoing questions, think of ways you can make the necessary changes to improve yourself with God's help. Remember all things are possible, if you determine to achieve, seeking God's grace and strength.

 

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

When we think of so many good things happening to us, what do we do? Of course, we can somehow pay back or respond to the one who has done good to us. But what about God, from whom we are receiving innumerable blessings and benefits? Even if you don't see any visible blessing as coming from God you still need to be grateful! Because, one of the sins listed in the Word of God is ungratefulness. (Romans 1:21). So being grateful always is the right way of responding to all the good we are receiving from God and others.

 

Every day of your life is a gift from God. Don't squander it. Don't waste it by being angry with anyone. Don't let it slip away by feeling sorry for yourself. Instead, be grateful for this precious gift of life and spend it by being as happy and thankful as you can possibly. Also, because, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1Thess. 5:18).

Let your mind dwell on good things that have happened to you. Think on your spiritual assets, and don't let anyone else (Satan, demon, friend or foe) spoil your day for you. Enjoy every day of your life to the fullest for the glory of God. Realize that you can add to the joy of each day by making someone else happy. Every day is God's day for you. "This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24).

 

The kind of prayer that helps you get into a peaceful and grateful attitude might be something like this:

"Heavenly Father, help me to be grateful for being alive right now. Help me to realize that no matter what my problem may be, where there is life, there is hope. Help me to think positively and to realize that thousands of miracles are happening every day. Help me to pray, and help me to remember the times when prayer brought peace. Let me be a listener and not self-centred. Help me to realize that if I get my mind occupied by helping and cheering up other people, I will be healthier than if I were always checking my own pulse. Help me to look for good in everyone I meet. Let me realize that I can not change anybody's way of thinking. Only by doing the best I can and setting a good example may I influence someone to change his or her behavior. Help me to understand that other people have as much right to their opinions as I do mine. I must be thankful for the mind and body you have given to me and realize there is a purpose for every person being different. Let me realize that you, my Father, are with me always to guide and comfort me. Let me open my heart to the Holy Spirit and let your love flow in. Let me accept the peace that You can bring; and help me to understand that You have a plan and purpose in everything that happens. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

What will 2012 bring? 

 

Will our economy recover or go deeper into recession? Will there be any more I-gadgets introduced in 2012? Will the world end in 2012 as the Mayan calendar & Nostradamus predicted? What will happen in the Middle East? Will Jesus return in 2012?

 

It’s always interesting to think about the future. And it’s intriguing to hear predictions about the future. I believe the reason we are so interested in the future is because the future is so uncertain. There are simply no guarantees in life. We just don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

 

The good news, if you believe in God, is that we know the only One who does know the future. Even though we don’t know what tomorrow holds, we know who holds tomorrow. Nothing will take God by surprise in 2012. You can trust Him!

 

What about your personal future? Where will you be a year from now? Will you be stronger in your faith? Will you grow spiritually in the year ahead? If so, how are you going to get there? What are your goals for 2012? 

 

There’s an old saying that suggests, “If you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it every time.” Now, I know that most people today don’t like the idea of New Year’s resolutions because most of the resolutions we make are broken within the first week. Nobody wants to set themselves up for failure. So, instead of resolutions, I encourage you to set some annual goals – especially some annual spiritual goals. Need some ideas? 

 

How much time will you spend with the Lord each day in 2012?

 

·         What’s your Bible reading plan for 2012?

 

·         What’s your Prayer plan for 2012?

 

·         How about a renewed commitment to participate in His work in 2012?

 

·         What are your stewardship goals for 2012? Do you have a giving plan?

 

·         What are your ministry goals for the New Year?

 

·         How about some fasting goals? Or a spiritual journal? Or a spiritual retreat?

 

My prayer for you in 2012 is that you may “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (II Peter 3:18) 

 

Dear Heavenly Father,

I want to grow closer to You in the New Year.

As I consider spiritual goals for the New Year; may your Holy Spirit

guide me to set realistic, yet faith-stretching goals.

May You be glorified through my life in 2012!

Subject: Setting Goals to Achieve Peace

The most sought after thing today is 'peace', in the personal life, family life and in the society. In the new year, as people make many resolutions, it is necessary to think and plan for peaceful living.

 

There may be many ways people think of getting peace, but real peace is eluding mankind ever since the first man and woman rebelled against the creator and lost peace. However, the Heavenly Father of all has not left us without any means of attaining the peace, He always wanted us to have. He has given us some timeless principles to apply to our lives and experience the peace that is beyond human understanding, but possible. Why not make these principles as goals for this new year, to have a life filled with peace? Determine to write and make these your goals to achieve peace in your life.

 

1. To be Joyful Always: Everybody wants to be happy and joyful. But the pressures of life make us often so depressed and hopeless. It is because we depend so much on external things and favourable circumstances to entertain and keep us happy. As conditions change, our feelings also change. We need to focus on the Lord who alone can give us real joy. The Lord Jesus promised that His joy in us can make our joy complete. So as you seek to find your joy in Him, nothing can disturb you, whatever the situation around you! For the injunction we have from the Word of God is to "rejoice in the L:ord always" (Phil. 4:4).

 

2. To Control Your Behaviour: "Let your gentleness (moderation) be known to all" (Phil. 4:5). Everybody has some good and bad character traits in life. We need to make concerted effort to display our good qualities rather than our bad nature. Of course, our weaknesses are often seen by others so easily. Make plans to learn and improve your behaviour before others. You will be exalted and promoted as you become an example to others by your good conduct.

 

3. To Pray When Hardpressed: Human life is filled with various experiences including times of pressure and tension when you feel it is too much for you to bear or to accept. Then normally we try to give vent to our feelings and release them on others. Other may not be capable of bearing our burdens or sharing in our sorrows. They may even get disturbed because of your experiences. The only way to find peace in pressure situations and crises is to go to God in prayer. It should happen immediately. The moment you feel pressure on your mind or something disturbing you, go to your knees and pray to the Lord Jesus pouring out your heart and sharing your feelings. You will find release. God's peace will fill your mind and heart. That's supernatural. You can not even understand it! But you can experience the abundant peace. That's very true, because it is God's Promise.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer...present your requests to God. And the peace of God...will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6).

 

4. To Think On Positive Thoughts: Many of us do not realize the power of thought. As you think in your heart (mind) so are you. Because, thoughts are seeds of action. So, if you fill your mind with good thoughts, your actions will be good. Similarly, if you are always brooding over the failures, negative things and feelings of defeat, you will live in them and nothing better happens. Harness the power of your mind to achieve great things in life by choosing what thoughts should fill your mind. You have a choice. Decide deliberately to, "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things." Phil 4: 8).

 

5. To Practice Whatever Good You Know: Everyday we are learning a lot of things on our own or from others. The world is influencing us in as much as we are open to it. Our heavenly Father helps us to learn the truths of life from reading, hearing His Word, and also seeing it practiced in others' lives. If we are sensitive and open to recieve all the good knowledge coming to us by all these means, we are privileged to put into practice and experience the blessings for ourselves. So, "whatever you have learned or recieved or heard or seen in me (in God's Word & the good examples around you)- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." (Phil. 4:9).

 

These may appear so simple, yet they are so powerful and meaningful and very real goals we all need to set for this new year and for all the days to come. They are timeless, proven principles and come with God's guanrantee to see that you get peace as you strive to live by them daily. You will have Peace! Amen.

 

The Promise for this year is: " For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord; of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11.

Subject: How to Succeed with Your New Year Plans

How are your plans for the new year going on? It is usual that people have new plans in the new year. Plans for success, prosperity, achievement, progress and development, etc. Some might be on the right track to realize their goals and dreams come to reality soon or later. However, it is not going to be easy to implement some tough plans. Obstacles are inevitable in every successful plan. Only those who know how to face and overcome those obstacles will surely see success. But then, there are many who lose sight of their goals and stray away from their plans. Distractions can besiege them and divert their focus on to other unplanned activities. At such times, we need someone to encourage us and put us back onto the right track to reach our goals.

 

Need for Encouragement

Prophet Haggai was called to encourage the people of Jerusalem to return to the task of rebuilding God's House. they had arrived from exile, filled with hope but pressure from the local authorities and selfish decisions, led them to quit the task. They turned instead to the task of building their own homes. Their priorities were out of order.

 

Haggai's task was to arouse the people to complete the task of rebuilding God's Temple. The task fo rebuilding the Temple was difficult, so is the task of rebuilding our lives. There will always be obstacles, but we dont have to let them stop us. When we feel like quitting, we can remember the message of Haggai. God is there to help and protect us each step of the way. As God's people had to reassess their spiritual lives in the rebuilding process, we need to examine our lives and act to prove our inner changes. We, like the people of Jerusalem, can respond to Haggai's message and move forward in the rebuilding and restoration process.

 

God's Plan Must Come First

When we face obstacles to God's plan for us, it is easy to get sidetracked from our primary mission; it is tempting to follow the way of least resistance. The people of Jerusalem started rebuilding God's temple but then met with stiff opposition. Instead of trusting God and standing up to the opposition, the people turned away from the rebuilding project God had for them and built their own homes instead. We tend to make the same mistake. When we face an obstacle to our advancement, we may turn away and take the way of least resistance. We may lower our standards, give in to sin, avoid confession, stop seeking God, and neglect relationships with those who hold us accountable. We may even look for an alternative path that looks easier because it excludes God. But when we reject God's plan, we also reject His power and blessings in our lives. We cannot experience success and fulfilment apart from following God's will, even though that may not always be easy.

 

We Will Face Obstacles

The rebuilding process is never easy. Satan will rear his ugly head time again and again as we seek God and surrender to Him. The Judeans faced numerous obstacles as they sought to rebuild the Temple. Local leaders repeatedly tried to stop the work. The people became afraid and gave up on the task od had given them to do. With God's help and the encouragement of Haggai, however, the task went on, and the rebuilding of God's Temple was completed. God wants us to grow spiritually and He will help us to overcome the obstacles if we look to Him for help.

 

Plans Require Action

It is much easier to recognize a problem than it is to do something about it. God's people in Jerusalem knew the Temple needed to be rebuilt if their nation was to get back in line with God's will. They had set out to complete the task but had then become discouraged and failed to follow through. Their failure to act over a period of years brought continued suffering upon them. Haggai called the people to act; he calls us to do the same. When seeking success, we must go beyond the recongition of our need. We must use the keys God gives us to move toward reconciliation with God, ourselves, and others. As painful as this process can be at times, we will be moving toward restoration.

A few days back, I was with a family who were gripped with fear of death. Last 2 years the parents in the family passed away and they were believers in the Lord Jesus. Some false pastors came and gave false prophecies that a serpent (devil) is after them and they also will die! Already they were filled with sorrow due to such a big loss and now these false prophets made them more depressed and filled with fear by their negative and irresponsible words.

This reminds me about how we deal with the people under pressure and in sorrow and struggling with problems?

 

Today many relationships appear to be failing. yet it is not the relationship but the people in it that fail! There are certain things that happen unwittingly, sometimes done by both parties. The way you encourage or criticize one another. The enemy of encouragement is criticism, the discourager. We need to remind ourselves that criticism changes no one and often becomes counter-productive. Too often, I think the tendency is to criticize something that we want changed. I think it’s important to remember that we must choose our words and actions carefully, because if we offer criticism that is harsh or unfounded, it may have the exact opposite effect from the one we desire.

 

When discouraged by criticism, I overeat and hold a pity party to which I invite no one but myself. A dangerous downward spiral of negative thinking begins with my telling myself, “I never do anything right. I’m ineffective in the Kingdom of God, and no one likes me.” Too often I allow one perceived failure or one critical remark to trigger depression. Criticism can be a very destructive force, whether it comes from ourselves or others (the need to encourage ourselves as well as others is an equally important point to be remembered too!). Why not focus on offering encouragement, which can be a great positive motivator?

 

Just as we want to criticize actions and not people, we want to praise actions and not people. I knew that you were supposed to criticize actions and not people, but it had never occurred to me that the same should hold true for praise and encouragement. Sometimes exaggerated compliments (”You are the nicest person in the world!”) are often dismissed or refused by the person we are complimenting. So it is better to praise the nice aspect of the person (”I appreciate your warm greeting and friendly smile.”).

 

Encouragement can be conveyed by our physical presence, practical help or in our spoken and written words. An encourager comforts, consoles, exhorts, takes another’s side, and helps. I think it’s important to remember that encouragement (and its flip side, criticism) can be expressed in non-verbal ways as well as the words we speak. Encouragement can be a hug, offered assistance, even a kind look.

 

The most significant revelation you may need to experienced as you read this is that you need to work on being more of an encourager for your family. It’s too easy to fall into a habit of criticism with those you live with (and especially those you are expected to discipline). Try making an effort to measure your words carefully and to look for opportunities to encourage the people around you.

Subject: Failing Forward!--turning mistakes into stepping stones for success

J.M. Barrie said,"We are all failures-at least all the best of us are." The well-known leadership trainer, John Maxwell, writes that, in his 30-plus years of leadership experience, one of the most valuable but underestimated abilities that leaders can possess is the ability to do what he calls " failing forward". It's more than having a good attitude about your mistakes and its a step beyond simply taking risks. Failing forward is the ability to get back up after you've been knocked down, learn from your mistake, and move forward in a better direction.

 

You see everybody makes mistakes. But the real difference between average poeple and achieving people is their Perception of and Response to failure. Nothing els has the same kind of impact on people's ability to accomplish their dreams.

 

What do you dream of accomplishing? Unfortunately, no matter how gifted or knowledgeable you are, you will make mistakes. Failure is the price you must pay on the road to success. That's just how it works. But the good news is that the better you are at failing forward, the sooner you can accomplish your dreams.

 

Here are a few common misconceptions about failure. Look at and take an honest inventory to determine if your perception of failure is what it should be. It will help you to change the way you think about failure.

 

1. People think Failure is Avoidable, it's NOT: You've probably heard the saying, " To err is human, to forgive divine." This was common among Romans about 2000 years ago. Things today are the same as they were then: People make mistakes. Don't buy into the notion that mistakes can somehow be avoided. Accept that you will err because you're human, but don't let that keep you from pursuing your dreams.

 

2. People think Failure is an Even, it's Not: Failure is just like success. Its a day to day process, not some place you just arrive one day. Failure is not a one-time event, it's how you deal with life along the way. Yes, you will make mistakes, but yu can't conclude that you're a failure until you breathe your last breath. Until then, you're still in the process, and there is still time to turn the things around for the better.

 

3. People think Failure is Objective, it's Not: When you forget a meeting, miss a deadline, damage a relationship, or make a poor choice concerning your children, what determines whether that action was a failure? Is it the size of the problem it creates, the amount of money your company loses, or how much criticism you have to endure? The truth is that you are the only person who can label what you do a failure. Failure is subjective. Your perception of and response to your mistakes determine whether they are failures. Determine to see your mistakes as merely temporary lapses, and start using them as stepping stones to success.

 

4. People think Failure is the enemy, its Not: Most people try to avoid failure like the plague. They're afraid of it. But it takes adversity to create success. NBA coach Rick Pitino says, "Failure is good. It's fertilizer. Everything I've learned about coaching I've learned from making mistakes." If you desire to be a big achiever, you can't see mistakes as the enemy. Begin to perceive mistakes as opportunities rather than opponents.

 

5. People think Failure is irreversible, it's Not: There's an old saying that goes, "It doesn't matter how much milk you spill as long as you don't lose your cow." In other words, mistakes are not irreversible. The problems come when you see only the " spille dmilk" and not the bigger picture. When you make a mistake, keep things in perspective. Understand that on the heels of every mistake is a valuable lesson and another opportunity to improve.

 

If you tend to focus on the extremes of mistakes and fixate on particular events in your life, resolve now to gain a new perspective on failure. See errors and negative experiences as a regular part of life and determine to learn and grow from them. Iif you can do that well, you may find that your dreams are much closer than you think.

Subject: What is True Love and How Do you Know When you have Found it?

As the 'day of love' (Valentine's day) is so near, it's time again to think and feel love in our hearts. For many people, love remains limited to their emotional feelings and romantic adventures. Here's a wonderful passage on what love really is:

 

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

I Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)

 

This verse describes the characteristics of true love. These qualities rarely seen in the modern definition of love. (But these are what we find in the person of Jesus Christ, and they can be found in all truly loving relationships).

The problem with trying to "find" love in our dating lives, is that too often we don't look for these characteristics. Rather we look at physical appearance, popularity, or wealth. These are not the qualities that God looks at and neither should we.

 

"But the LORD said to Samuel, '...The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'" I Samuel 16:7b (NIV)

 

Love is best seen as devotion and action, not an emotion.

Love is not exclusively based on how we feel. Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love. True devotion will always lead to action - true love.

 

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with ACTIONS and in truth." I John 3:18 (NIV)

Christ was devoted to us enough to give his own life for us (Romans 5:8), even when he didn't feel like it (Matthew 26:39).

 

Sex is not love! Our culture has taught us that sex and love are one and the same. This is a lie. Sex is a beautiful God-given activity that is wonderful when practiced within the boundaries of a Biblical marriage. Sex is the completion of the binding of two people within Biblical marriage; it is a God-given gift.

 

PRE-MARITAL SEX: Because premarital sex is not love, it only leads to pain and disappointment for those who are seeking that love. The Bible says that when two people are married, they become one flesh (Ephesians 5:31). Sex is consummation of that union. When two people break off their relationship after having sex, it is like ripping apart flesh. This is why two teenagers will struggle so much and become so dependent on those they give their bodies to. In light of I Corinthians 13:4-8 (above), it is easy to see that premarital sex is not patient, it is not kind, it does not protect, it is self-seeking. It is not love!

 

IDENTIFYING TRUE LOVE: We can only identify true love and know when we have found it, based on the Word of God. When we match our relationships up to what the Bible says that love is -- and we are honestly prepared to make a life-long commitment to that person -- then we can say that we are truly "in love." The three keys to that statement are:

We have to...

1) look at what the Word of God says

2) be completely honest with ourselves

3) understand the level of commitment that comes with true love

Many are confused about how to choose the right friends as they have so much influence on our lives. Often young people ask me how to know who are trustworthy and what factors need to be considered when selecting the people you want to be with or share your life with?

 

Friends are basically meant to share our hearts. Once we have committed ourselves to confessing our faults and weaknesses to others, if is extremely important for us to keep company with trustworthy people- godly people we can entrust with our confidences. Otherwise, we will find it impossible to speak the truth and may even find ourselves lying because we can't trust our friends.

 

Samson was one of Israel's judges. As a child, he had been dedicated to God, and God had gifted him with supernatural strength. But Samson had a lifelong weakness - his desire for women. Samson was especially blinded to the dangers he faced in his relationship with Delilah. Samson's enemies paid Delilah to discover the secret of his strength. Three times she begged him to let her in on his secret, and each time she tried to use this information to hand him over his enemies. ll three times, Samson lied to her and was able to escape, but each time he got closer to telling her the truth. In the end, Samson revealed his secret, was taken captive, and died a slave in enemy hands (Judges 14-16).

 

Samson's real problem can be found in his unholy passions, which caused him to be drawn into the web of his treacherous enemies. His disobedience to God caused him to gradually inch his way toward destruction and a violent death.

 

We can protect ourselves from falling into the same trap by obeying God and developing relationships with those who love us and are devoted God's truth. Trustworthy confidants can be relied upon to hear us speak about both our strengths and our weaknesses.

Subject: Life Beyond the Limits

Have you ever thought of or expected to live your life beyond limits!? Actually, do you know that there is such a life waiting for you? Or it is possible to live life even beyond your expectations or wild dreams? Here's the secret to get blessings, enlarge your life, experience supernatural presence and stay away from evil. All these, just by a simple and shortest prayer! Can you believe this?

Here's what an obscure statement in the historical records of the Bible says: "And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested." 1 Chronicles 4:10. A little prayer, but a giant prize!

 

This simple, direct request to God changed Jabez's life and left a permanent mark on the history books of Israel. At first glance, the four requests may strike you as sincere, sensible, even noble, but not terribly remarkable. Yet just under the surface of each lies a giant paradigm breaker that runs exactly opposite to the way you and I usually think . In this letter, I want to show you just how dramatically each of Jabez's requests can release something miraculous in your life.

 

1. Ask for God's Blessings: It is not seeking for more of what we want! This is what normally all people are doing. But asking for God's blessings means to ask Him to pour out His vast resources in heaven, His rich goodness and favors- waiting for you! Out of His riches in heaven God blesses and provides, is what even Apostle Paul assures us in Philippians 4:19. Usually, we are not reaching for those immeasurable riches but only focusing on our problems and asking for His help. Ask, and it shall be given to you, promised the Lord Jesus. You do not have because, you do not ask, reminded James in his letter. Open you heart wide and ask for God to bless you indeed, really hard and abundantly. When God blesses you, your life changes and you will help others too. Jacob sought for God's blessing so desperately that he was determined not to leave God unless He blessed him there and then! Then what we read happened in Jacob's life is the wonderful history of Israel!

 

2. Ask to Enlarge your territory: Many of us are satisfied with our present situation unless we face some problems. The lethargy and complacency are the greatest enemies of development. But God wants to give so much for you that you have to ask for enlarging your borders- of your own personal life, family life, financial life, and professional life. Don't you want to stretch yourself and make an impact on others? Desire for a greater ministry to be given to you so that you become more useful and your territory extends farther and wider.

 

3. Ask for God's Presence with you always: To go through life's difficult situations or to accomplish great things, you need a supernatural power. The lord promises His presence with those who go forward in His name, to do and work wonders. Jabez asked for God's hand to be with him, since he asked for large responsibility to be given to him. Yes, we all need this assurance that He is with us always, in everything and at all times.

 

4. Ask to keep you away from evil: Evil is al around us in this world. Wherever you go, you cannot run away from evil. This is like your shadow that always follows you! Sometimes, you have to face evil and fight the battles of life. But, it is better and safer that we pray for not to enter into a struggle with the powerful Enemy of God. The Lord Jesus taught the little prayer to pray for deliverance from the evil one. As you step out of your house, ask God to keep you away form the evil one. As you deal with people, ask God to keep evil far from you both. But you need not fear the evil one. Pray and trust the Lord that you would be kept safe.

 

Say this prayer of Jabez daily. Count the good things that happen to you. Make sure, you are obeying God's Word and are doing everything to please Him and He will blesss you. Join me in this transformation. You will change your legacy and bring supernatural blessings wherever you go. God release His miraculous power in you now and for all eternity! He will lavish on you His honour an delight. Amen.

 

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 47:4.

Subject: Courage to Take A Step

Transforming our lives means stepping out in faith, believing that God is able to turn even the watery-depths of the ocean into a pathway toward Himself and His plan for us. We may have taken other "safe" paths in the past and found that these didn't take us where we truly longed to go spiritually, but their familiarity made us feel comfortable. But now with our eyes fixed on Jesus, we will have to face our fear of the unknown and get beyond it.

What is Courage
If we wait for all our fear to go away, before we begin to transform our lives, we will never make significant spiritual progress. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage means that we take advantage of the little strength we find within us, that we find little ways to encourage ourselves, and that we stubbornly follow God's direction. It means that we find enough strength to take a step in the right direction.

Walking on Water
In the account where Jesus walked on the water, the disciples were terrified when they saw Him (Matthew 14:28-31). Peter called to Jesus, "Lord, if it's really You, tell me to come to You by walking on water." Jesus told him to come, so Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. Peter became terrified and began to sink, but Jesus reached out His hand and lifted Him up.

Peter gathered up enough courage to take one step in the Lord's direction when the Lord called to him. he ventured out into a new experience. When he got in over his head, he called out and found the help he needed. We, too, need only to summon the courage to take a step in the right direction.This doesn't mean that we won't feel fear or need help. It does mean that with God's help, we will make it if we step out in faith. May you get this courage in this new year to step out and take many steps of faith to go from wave to wave in realizing your dreams and goals.

Subject: When You Lapse into Self-pity

One of the greatest dangers that can befall us when we find ourselves overtaken by sorrow is to lapse into self-pity.Yet it is so easy to do this. Self-pity is the "Poor me syndrome"; it is pouring pity on ourselves in the hope that the pain we are experiencing may be assuaged.

 

Sensitive people are most prone to self-pity because they are easily hurt. Sensitivity is a capacity for sympathy and is God's equipment for feeling deeply with others. Used in this way it is a wonderful thing. When it causes us to turn inwards on oursleves, however, it is a violation of God's design for us and drags us down into the most miserable of moods.

 

The real problem with self-pity is that it replaces God in our lives by a self-centred attempt to deal with our pain. Instead of turning to God in the midst of our difficulties and bringing our pain to Him, we prefer the temporary anodyne of self-pity. We cringe, we whine, we sigh, we complain, we accuse God of forgetting to be gracious, and in this self-engrossed frame of mind we regard our small personal problems as more serious than some of the major tragedies in the lives of others. The pity we lavish upon ourselves eases the pain, but it does so in a way that ignores God.

 

Self-pity is sensitiveness turned to selfishness; we prefer our own way of dealing with our pain to God's. The only real remedy for self-pity is repentance. We must repent of our stubborn commitment to independently dealing with life's problems and assuaging our pain instead of turning in helpless abandonment to God. Then and only then can self-pity be expelled. Be encouraged.

 

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God." Psalm 42:11.

 

"O God, forgive me that I prefer drawing on my own resources rather than Yours whenever I am in personal pain. I repent of this deeply ingrained tendency within me, and turn to You for comfort, healing and release. In Jesus' name. Amen"

Subject: Why is God Silent at times?

What do you do when you cry out to God and there is no answer?

 

Or at least you can't hear it?

What do you do when heaven is silent?

 

This happened to David!

He kept crying out to God, "Do not keep silent, O God of my praise!".Psalm 109:1.

David was being attacked by the wicked--a frequent occurrence in his life.

David wanted to see the wicked judged because they were attacking the people of God,

the ones from whom God's Word and His Son would come.

 

Why is God silent at times?

 

It may be because-

 

We are not receptive!

Or we don't want to listen.

Evangelist Billy Sunday used to say that a sinner can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a policeman--he's not looking.

Sin makes us turn a deaf ear to God.

When Adam and Eve heard the voice of God in the Garden of Eden, they ran and hid. Children often do that when they disobey.

 

We are not ready!

He wants to talk to us about something, but we aren't ready.

Our attention is diverted towards things and thrills!

We have to go through refining trials to make us ready to listen.

 

We are rebellious!

He is always ready to show us His will!

But He shows His will only to those who really want to do it.

Jesus said in John 7:17:"If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine."

Obedient people always hear the voice of God.

 

We are to be reminded!

-Of the importance of silence, the importance of waiting on Him.

Waiting helps remind us of God's sovereignty!

The silence of the Sovereign is one of the difficult tests of faith.

 

What should you do when He is silent?

Remember His faithfulness and past blessings.

Rest assured on what He has already promised you.

Relax today and every day trusting Him and wait.

 

You will hear the voice of God again!

"...He will quiet you with his love...' Zeph.3:17.

"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" 1Corinthians 13:4-5.

 

Let us meditate on the thought that Agape love is not only patient, but kind. Those who are patient, but not kind in their patience, show something less than Agape Love. The kindness that divine love brings with it into our personalities enables us to give back kindness when life is not kind to us. It means we are not just negatively patient but positively kind in the midst of the patience. A well-known hymn puts it this way:

 

Able to suffer without complaining

To be misunderstood without explaining

Able to give without receiving

To be ignored without grieving

Able to ask without commanding To love despite misunderstanding

Able to turn to the Lord for guarding

Able to wait for his own rewarding.

 

This kind of love, it must be noted, is not maudlin sentimentality, it is tough as well as tender, strong as well as sensitive. People who do not know better may think of it as a clinging vine, but actually it is a sturdy oak, gnarled but not bowed under the storms of life. I tell you, a love that is patient and kind is the most formidable thing on our planet.

 

Prayer: O Father, as the violet leaves its perfume on the heel that crushes it, so let me leave the perfume of divine kindness on all who may hurt me this day. In Jesus' Name I ask it. Amen.

 

"Be kindly affectionate one to another...in honor giving preference to one another." Romans. 12:10.

Subject: The Glorious Hope!

Many have no hope beyond this short-lived life. And many have become so hopeless that they are not really living but existing! So the resurrection brings us a new hope-the glorious hope! Let's see what it means to us in our practical day-to-day living.

 

Many fond memories come to mind at this time of the year when many people all over the world are celebrating the so-called Easter with so much of tradition and ceremony. But for the true believer in the Bible, the most important experience is the glory of the resurrection. What is there for the common man in this event? There's a lot! Yes, the glorious hope!

 

1. The fact of resurrection is the basis for the good news of salvation for mankind: As per Paul in 1Corinthians 15:3, the fact of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection are the foundation of our faith to save us from our sins! That's good news! There is no gospel at all if the Lord was not risen! The resurrection forms an integral part of the good news. Only His death is not sufficient. He needs to rise to make the gospel powerful to save those who believe.

 

2. The reality of resurrection makes our faith real and living: It is in vain to believe in a Savior if He is still in the grave (1 Cor. 15:16). But, praise God, we have a risen and living Lord upon whom our faith rests. So our faith is made real and meaningful because the Lord Jesus is risen from the dead. All those who are born into this world die. And it finished with them. But not so with the Lord Jesus! He began a new way again- the way to Eternal Life.

 

3. The reality of Jesus' resurrection makes the future resurrection of all a possible reality : according to what the great apostle Paul clarifies and defends in 1Corinthians 15: 12-23, all those who believe in Christ, they will rise from the dead one day. Even those who do not believe, though, to face judgement. The basis for this hope is the resurrection of Christ Himself. He is the firstfruits of all those who died. So the death is no longer the end of everything. But it is the gateway to a better and glorious world beyond the grave. It is this assurance that enables believers find comfort and peace in the departure of the dear ones. 1Thess.4: 13-18. Oh! What a glorious hope that we all can live again in glorious bodies and never see pain, suffering, or death again! We can know this for certain because the Lord rose in glorious body and ascended to heaven.

 

4. The reality of resurrection is the power behind transformed lives:

There is no power on earth to change a person like Paul who was such a cruel, vicious, violent and fanatical man before he met Christ. His life was totally transformed by his encounter with the living Savior ( 1cor. 15: 8). What was the power that brought about this miraculous change and moulded such a man into the greatest of apostles of all times? The power of resurrection! That's what Paul earnestly desired to know and experience in Philippians 3:10, 11.

 

Now, what is your hope? Do you have this glorious hope? Why not possess it now? It is available to all freely today. You can know and experience the power of resurrection in your own life if you commit your life to follow the Lord who died and rose again to give this glorious hope. It is possible for you to experience a miraculous transformation into a new person, as you trust in the living Savior to change you and give you a life worth living! HE IS ABLE BECAUSE HE IS ALIVE!

 

"...Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He has risen! Luke 24: 5,6.
