The Freelance Paralegal Group was founded in 2004 to benefit freelance, contract and independent paralegals working throughout the United States. As a freelance paralegal you are a business owner dedicated to serving the legal industry. Due to the substantial growth in our field it was crucial a safe place to network was formed. The Freelance Paralegal Group provides it's members with information and support.
If you have ever needed help advertising your business, tips to help you work better, or business resources and didn’t know where to turn, if you needed opportunities to network with your peers, you’ll want to join the Freelance Paralegal Group!
The purpose of this list is to provide a safe haven wherein we can freely discuss whatever is on our minds. However, it is also meant to be a fun place; therefore, humorous posts are welcome as well (lawyer jokes, anyone?)
All views and opinions are welcome. However, please do not use profanity or cross-post to other groups or individuals. Also, do not join to obtain legal advice, as paralegals cannot legally render legal advice.
Since this is a support group, flames, spam and personal insults will not be tolerated.
For your privacy and protection, this list is restricted to those approved by the list owner. Rest assured, however, that this is a very diverse group. Here's the one place where you'll find people who know how you feel. Archives will be available only to list members, and no member profiles will EVER be made publicly available.
Please be sure to state specifically why you want to join the list, when you send in the request. Requests without that information will be denied.
We welcome international members, but we do not accept new members involved in foreign legal outsourcing. We believe that the practice not only takes jobs from well-qualified U.S. paralegals, it also poses a serious danger to clients; and for those reasons, we decline to encourage the practice.
