Kozmo,
Not real sure, but it sounds like a cross-dowel. There are a lot of
different
manufacturers and types out there.
Cross-dowel:
Metal pin (about 3/8") drilled/tapped to accept a 1/4" bolt
1/4" Bolt, flattened head with an Allen socket
A through hole for the 1/4" bolt is drilled with a right angle
hole for the metal "dowel" to slip through. Often the dowel has
a slot, similar to a screw slot, milled into it.

Hi.... Here is a site where you can find all kind of ......Fasteners.. look it up in ( Rockler.com)...then look into Hanger Bolts...You should be able to see...
