I know that was pretty cool especially since
Stepgrrl mentioned in her post that it would be cool for
Baba Wawa to interview him!!<br><br>It wasn't exactly
a whole interview but to have him on for analysis
was great!<br><br>So Friday's total GRS appearances
were:<br><br>1) GMA<br>2) The first ruling in the lower Fla
court.<br>3) The Fla. Supreme Court ruling.<br>4) World News
Tonight<br>5) 20/20<br>6 Nightline!! And I almost didn't get
the Nightline one because Nightline was a FULL
HOUR!<br><br>Usually their Fri night specials are about 45 minutes. I
am glad I was up!! I had to do a little rewinding
because I was running out of tape when Ted said they
would be back with the political analysis of the whole
thing!<br><br>So I was able to get all six appearances on ONE
tape!!<br><br>Maybe...who is now depressed since the Supreme Court just
stopped all the counting! Some legal mind explain to me
why the US Supreme Court sent it all to the Fla
Supreme Court to sort it all out and then put a halt to
what the Fla Supreme Court decided.

I didn't feel up to par this morning and slept
through TW. What did I miss? Was George looking
pleasantly scruffy, or did he wake up in time to run a comb
through his hair? Did the Dorothy shirt make an
appearance? Did George pick out a nice tie to wear, or did he
have on his scary orange one? Was he all sad because
the recount was stopped? Did George Will make any
sense? Did Sam? Did Cokie?<br><br>Etc., etc.,
etc.<br><br>That reminds me - did you all notice Brill's Content's
Pundit Watch (page 40, or thereabouts)? It keeps track
of the accuracy of various political pundits each
month, and of the four TW people, George has the highest
accuracy this time around. GW has the lowest of the TW
Four, and nearly the lowest on the Brill's roster. How
nice that TW has both ends of the spectrum represented
in one program. Snerk.<br><br>Nantz<br>Wondering if
Brill's Content has any idea a whole Yahoo club is going
to be keeping a close eye on them from now on...

I thought the discussion was quite entertaining!
Oh and George was wearing a Christmas tie!! I
thought it was so darling. It looked like Santa Clauses!
I thing that it was the same one he wore on Fridays
Good Morning America.<br><br>By the way...what is
George's middle name. I see everyone is abbreviating his
name into initials, GRS??<br><br>just
wondering.<br><br>Jane

It's Robert, his dads name. His grandfather is
George too. Greek baby boys are given their paternal
grandfathers first name and their fathers name as their middle
name!<br>I was home with nothing to do. I live in Chicago
and we have way toooo much snow for me to venture out
of the house. So, I had ABC on. He looked too
adorable. His suit and tie were nice, of course. But, what
really got me was his hair. He had the bangs going. It
looks like its getting longer on top. If he had his
glasses on, I would have jumped through the TV. Even my 7
year old niece thought he was cute!<br>I forgot to
tell you guys my cousin met him! She works for the
airlines and he walked up to her counter needing
connecting flight directions. She said he was really nice,
and not that short. But, she's just 5ft, so lots of
people are tall to her. I'm only 5ft 3", so he'd be fine
for me too!

George Will never makes any sense! And the round

they have been for the last couple of weeks.<br><br>No
Dorothy shirt because one of the guys on 60 Minutes last

cute for me and did look a little sad about the

Cheer you up for a second! From USA Today today,
Tuesday. An article about the winners & losers of the
coverage this past month.<br><br>It is titled: "We vote
with our eyes and the cable guys win." It's very long
so I'll just excerpt the relevant sections. I don't
know if it is on their website but it should
be!<br><br>First paragraph: No matter who ultimately wins the
White House [which we now know], this drawn-out
election has DONE WONDERS for some TV news programs and
personalities. Others haven't fared as well. We take a
look.<br><br>Winners:<br>Cable News. [and I'm cutting out all this]<br>Jon
Stewart<br>NBC News<br>Various News Personalities [relevant
part!] Did you know MSNBC's Lester Holt or CNN's Bill
Hemmer before this never-ending story? Better known
media figures - NBC's Tim Russert, ABC's GEORGE
STEPHANOPOULOS [and they name a couple of others]-- also got
lots of attention.<br><br>"They got boosts from an
extra month in the limelight," says Andrew Tyndall, who
writes The Tyndall Report on network news.<br><br>Pretty
cool!!<br><br>---------------<br>Now, to the coverage tonight. I don't know why
Peter
and the gang went on the air before anyone actually
read the Supreme Court ruling. <br><br>But Jackie Judd
and Jeffrey Toobin cracked me up!! Jennings goes to
them and they are reading the ruling on the steps and
Jennings asks them about it.<br><br>Toobin says, I'm still
reading Peter. I was hoping you'd go to Jackie
first.<br><br>Jackie Judd says, me too Peter, still
reading.<br><br>Jennings says, okay, take your time.<br><br>I was cracking
up!<br><br>Maybe...so what happens after Dubya is sworn in and all the
big media guys do their own recounts and find that
Gore actually won?!

I'm thinking the Sunshine Law in FL might make
one big fool out of SCOFL and SCOTUS as well as the
FL Legislature, not to mention Tammy Faye Harris.
Won't the five justices on Bush's side feel pretty
stupid when they have to rule on a private citizen's
ballot recount that proves Gore won? If Antonin Scalia
thinks this year's hjinks was a consitutional crisis, he
ain't seen nothing yet.<br><br>What SCOTUS should have
done, to be perfectly fair and totally impartial, would
have been to throw out the 11/7 Florida vote and order
a fresh one next Tuesday. Six days to print fresh
ballots (you can even use that butterfly, now that
everyone knows what the pitfalls are), set up the voting
machines again and do it all over. That revote would stand
and the election done, cleanly and quickly. No hand
recount, since we obviously have no guideline for
it.<br><br>As part of the review of the Election process, which
should be taken up immediately, congress should put its
pride in its back pocket and ask Canada how to
handcount ballots in record time. Then we revise the
Election Law to hold the voting as established, but then
handcount and verify the vote the following Tuesday. If our
northern neighbors can do it, we can, even with 102MM
votes.<br><br>You know, I'm really going out on a limb here, but if
he really wanted to do something useful for this
country, this could be Larry Klayman's finest hour. He was
in FL looking at ballots, as allowed by law. Since
he likes to litigate so much, why not sue all of the
above parties, hold the recount himself and tell us who
really won? Gore would get what he wanted, we'd have an
honestly-elected Prez, and Klayman might look less like a fool and
more like a citizen, especially since Justice Stevens
pretty much said SCOTUS' ruling has scuttled a positive
conclusion.<br><br>I don't think that's any more nuts than the events
of the past five weeks!

Well said, Stepgrrl. But while I'm all for a
total FL do-over, I wonder if the 12/18 deadline would
give those pesky absentee voters enough time to
receive their ballots, read the fine print and fill them
out correctly (that alone might be too much pressure,
snerk), and get them back in the mail so they'll be
postmarked by Tuesday.<br><br>It's pretty much a moot
discussion, though, since 5-4 SCOTUS wussed out and put a
halt to all hope of "fair and impartial" yesterday.
Not even a recount, much less an entire revote, is
going to happen now. <br><br>Aren't I just a little ray
of sunshine today?<br><br>Speaking of which, I do
wholeheartedly support the idea of a private citizen's recount,
via the Sunshine Law. But could we please, please,
PLEASE get someone OTHER than Klayman in there? I know
he's already been down there nosing around the
ballots, but the thought of him becoming some sort of folk
hero just adds insult to injury!

Point taken, dear nantz, on both the absentee
problem and the ordination of Saint Larry. I wouldn't
want to make him a "folk hero" but he just might do
something useful, for a change. He could also apologize to
George, James and Paul, not to mention Bill and Hillary,
but that might be WAY too much to ask for. I can
dream, though.<br><br>OK, gang, when do the '02

I did see Klaypot at the last trial that Judge
Sauls had (the judge with three names)and he was there
representing "the people." <br><br>The judge asked him how
much time he wanted when he stood up at the end of all
the lawyers requesting time. He said he didn't want
to take any more of the court's time than necessary
and would just like to submit his brief for the

judge was grateful and that was the last I saw of
Klaypot. But I do still get e-mails from Judicial Watch
and they are planning their own recount. Of course,
that is with every other news organization in the

Nice to have you, too, Naut2b!<br><br>Yes, I
thought, George was a little emotional this morning, too.
When Charlie ran a bit of tape when Gore was coming in
to give his speech, we saw what looked like Gore
composing himself. Charlie asked George if he thought he
noticed that, and G started his sentence, "Oh, I thought
so..." or something similar, but that "Oh" wavered
slightly. It was quite apparent. Reminded me of his comment
that he cried after Clinton's Map Room speech.
<br><br>I really felt like crying last night, along with
Al's daughters who were having a pretty tough time of
it. Tipper was a rock, as usual, bless her. Compare
it to Laura Bush's frozen-in-time look, as she
prepares to wreck every room in the WH with saddles and
horseshoes.<br><br>BTW, if you want to see the last of the Clinton WH,
there is a show on Fox tomorrow night, a tour given by
the President and the Senator. They'll be going into
the residence as well, so if you've never seen the
WH, this is your chance.
