Description

This is a discussion group for those who may want to know the lowdown on the Group of 184, the shadowy Haitian-American "grassroots" organization which was behind the overthrow of the government of Jean-Bertrand Aristide in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on February 28, 2004.

The most prominent members include Andre "Andy" Apaid, a U.S.-born mulatto businessman who has been a steadfast opponent against Aristide and the Fanmi Lavalas political party ever since 1991, and Rudolphe Boulos, a member of an economically-powerful Haitian/Haitian-American family with a shady past. Both men possess past connections with the Duvalier dictatorships, and are playing a behind-the-scenes role in the current government of Gerard Latortue.

This discussion group will keep all members posted on the latest developments surrounding and involving the Group of 184.
