Housing Braintrust:  Katrina's Aftermath:  Rebuilding the Gulf region and protecting its historically Black and minority roots

• Summary of panel:  The braintrust will discuss the HUD's efforts to rebuild the nearly 70,000 destroyed public housing units, the necessity of the Section 8 voucher program, discuss the long-term homeownership issues facing the region, potential impact the Government Sponsored Enterprises may have and general fair housing issues that will occur in the construction and distribution of housing.
