Hey STAND,
Below are some important articles that address the growing conflict within Chad- Darfur, Sudan's border country. With the number of refugees fleeing to Chad in the hundreds of thousands, turmoil has erupted. Please read the articles below for a more detailed look at this terrible crisis. As well, the third article expresses Sudan's withdrawal of support for a UN peacekeeping mission. Our meetings are now more discussion-based, so feel free to come in with questions or topics for discussion at our next meeting.
On a somewhat lighter note, NEXT TUESDAY we will
NOT be having a STAND meeting. HOWEVER, STAND is psyched to be attending...
UGANDA-CONFLICT ACTION NETWORK'S
screening of Invisible Children!
If you would like to join us before the movie, please meet STAND at Ivory Towers at 6:30 for some grub with the hottest group ever. Bring friends!
Otherwise meet us for INVISIBLE CHILDREN @...

The evening starts at 7:30, with the movie beginning promptly at 8:00pm. A Q&A will follow with one of the film-makers and top leaders from the northern Uganda advocacy circle. They will be leading a panel discussing initiatives that are currently happening on the ground... as well as how we can help strengthen these efforts!
