Volunteering Opportunity

ACLU is looking for volunteers for our membership conference, which runs from Sunday, October 15 through Tuesday, October 17.  Volunteering involves a minimum commitment of three hours, and includes an ACLU T-Shirt and free entry into the conference (which costs $65 for all three days).  We have an exciting line up that you won't want to miss, highlighted by a debate between Caroline Fredrickson, head of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office, and Justice Antonin Scalia.  Our full, confirmed line up is available at http://action.aclu.org/conference/agenda.html .

If anyone has questions or is interested in volunteering, please feel free to email me at rfisher@....  I hope to hear from some of you soon!

Hey GW STAND enthusiasts....

This is Jacqueline Burgess from GW/ former GW UgandaCAN president.

On October 9th-10th, UgandaCAN will be hosting a two day Lobby
Day/Symposium on the GW Campus and there is kind of a little
conundrum....

There about 200 students who have signed up and need housing. We have
only been able to find housing for about 15 people. Is there any way
that you can ask people in STAND or anyone you know to house 1-3
students for these two days? They don't have to live on campus to
qualify...just a kind heart... and floor space. We are in a desperate
situation and would like these students to have the opportunity to
attend/ these are about 1/3 of the attendees....

Please refer people who are interested to <
aimeeo@... > or
housing@.... Your help will be greatly appreciated... and
it will give GW students a chance to meet some students from around the
country interested in the same region/similar social issues.

Thanks SO MUCH for your help!

Jackie
