The first ever congressional hearings on Darfur are taking place today, 2/5/07, starting at 3 pm. People will be meeting at the Foggy Bottom Metro at around 2:30 pm. Don't forget to wear your STAND shirts. If you are running late, or no one is there when you get there, call Sean, 847-909-7787. He may be running late because he is coming from class. Hope to see a lot of people there; this is an awesome opportunity. If you cannot meet at the metro and would still like to get there later; the hearings are in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, which is a couple blocks north of the Capitol South Metro stop. Senator Dick Durbin (listed as a champion for Darfur on darfurscores.org) is presiding as the Chair of the first subcommittee on human rights and law. Don Cheadle and Romeo Dallaire will be testifying. If you don't have class, try not to miss it!!!
