Hey guys, Hope your all enjoying Spring Break. Just a reminder we
will meet on Tuesday evening at 9:00 PM at Ivory Tower by the food
court. The following event information was forwarded to me and I
thought members might be interested in attending. Jerry Fowler, one
of our previous speakers, will be addressing students.

Save Darfur Advocates:

Your devotion to saving Darfur is an inspiration to the world. Part
of standing up against genocide is remembering past atrocities which
SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED.

Just 60 years ago the Concentration Camp Auschwitz was liberated.
After the Holocaust everyone said "Never Again." Why is it happening
again?

Please return to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to join your
fellow student advocates for a special Days of Remembrance ceremony
commemorating the 6 million lives which were taken in the Holocaust.

Living Legacy: Days of Remembrance Commemoration

April 10, 2005

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Please join with other Washington D.C.-area university students in
commemorating the Days of Remembrance at the United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum.

Created especially for university students, this special observance
will honor those who were victims of the Holocaust and highlight how
memory of the Holocaust can be used to shape a more humane future.

The program includes presentations by:

Nesse Godin – a Holocaust Survivor, sharing the story of a childhood
in Lithuania, turned into nightmare by the Holocaust, and what it took
to survive a ghetto, concentration and labor camps, and a death march.
Claire Simmons – born in a refugee camp after the Holocaust, speaking
about the importance of passing on the legacy of the Holocaust to
future generations.
Jerry Fowler – Staff Director of the Museum's Committee on Conscience,
advocating honoring the memory of the Holocaust through drawing
attention to the genocide currently occurring in the Darfur region of
Sudan and issuing calls for action.
The program at the Museum will be followed by a memorial candle
lighting in the Hall of Remembrance. Students will be provided passes
for the Museum's Permanent Exhibition which can be used at any time
throughout 2005.
