Hi Bob,

I don't understand your question. DM780 offers PSK31 and various other modes.

The new logbook is in the hands of testers. I presume that it will be public at
the end of this month (July)

It won't be available until July 4/5, 2009 as a beta kit.

I got here by going to the download page, clicked the DOWNLOADS tab without
doing any of the pull-downs.

Currently there is a technology preview available of Version 5 (
http://forums.ham-radio.ch/showthread.php?t=14728&highlight=2151) and as
noted on the site it appears the new beta version should be available this
weekend on July 4th or 5th.

The old HRD version has a PSK31 button. It has been deleted in version 5 which
offers DM780 with various digi modes.

I suppose that you use build 2055. Have you tried to export one log to ADIF,
then open the other one (backup first) and import from ADIF just created.

I have a problem with HRD and the Kenwood TS-2000 extended menu reading.

When I read from the TS-2000 menu # 28a always comes up with a red X in
front of it.

In the "Value" column it has "Unknown (2)" and the "Range" column has only
2.

The "Value" column should be "2" and the "Range" column should be " OFF, 1,
2"

The same as menu # 28b, 28c, 28d and 28e.

I am using the latest version of HRD but this has been a problem for MANY
versions before.

I wonder if some of you with TS-2000's, if you haven't noticed this, could
you check it out?

I do NOT have this problem with other programs such a Kenwood's MCP-2000
memory program.

Is it possible to control ICOM rigs, such as the 756 Pro III, so that
their built-in digital voice recorder or CW keyer memories can be
accessed through HRD?

The alternative is to use a hardware device that be purchased or built
quite simply, but I was wondering if it might be possible to do this via
software control.

HRD has a voice recorder. Found in the user guide, page 49 :

The audio grabber stores incoming audio in MP3 files using the MP3 tags to store
information about the radio settings (or any other information you feel to be
important).

Jose,
Yup, and that's a nifty alternative, was
wondering about the original question though, can
HRD utilize the built-in digital voice recorder
(i.e. if not to record, but to actuate the
recordings, such as calling cq which I've
previously recorded) ?

Rename log to logbook2.mdb then click import HRD logbook2.mdb log and it will
place the entries into your main log ....

I suppose that you use build 2055. Have you tried to export one log to ADIF,
then open the other one (backup first) and import from ADIF just created.

Subject: [ham-radio-deluxe] Logbook ??? Previous contact

I am running Build 2055. I am using the logbook, but can not figure out how to
make the display show previous contacts. The "Worked" display comes on, but no
other info about when or comments etc.

Is there a way to have the previous contacts displayed?

A couple of quick questions.

I have a an Elekraft KRC2 that I am just finishing
http://www.elecraft.com/KRC2/krc2.htm for my remote base and I was going to
configure it for either the parallel port on the remote computer for HRD or
for the data line on the TS480-HRD connection (either the actual one or the
virtual port).

Then, it came to me. I am assuming that when I a do a parallel port control
it is for the remote computer? Or, is it that I have to turn on the
Parallel port manager on the remote computer and not both setting it on the
local computer (of course, that would make sense). I think I just answered
my own question.

As well, is the only way to do PSK (or any digital mode) on the remote is
either using Virtual Audio Cable on the local computer or Remote Desktop to
the remote computer.

On the good news, I finally got my SGC500 running just fine using a 70A
astron supply (not really recommended as it IS regulated) and adding a 70ah
car battery on a 6" lead to it. I just need to get a very large relay to
disconnect the power supply from the battery when I am not using it as the
bleeders in the power supply can discharge the battery.

I have use HRD to remotely operate my ft89d over the lan. But I was wondering if
anyone has tried it over ax25 on 2 meters or 440 to control the rig. Then run
the audio over 440 or 2 meters. Like use 1 radio for control and the other for
audio. Just was wondering if I could dust off my tnc for this purpose.
This way myself or some of my other ham friends could use the rig since it could
be place where there is no internet access.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July
