Welcome to all the new members - The list is growing constantly,
which is great to see.

Well it's finally here!! - Stephen King released The Plant part 1 on
his website yesterday, and there has been over 41,000 people download
it so far! It's not "Free", but there is a donation of US$1 asked for
each part you download. Part 2 will be available next month, and part
3 MAY be available a month after that.

King has said that he will release parts 1 & 2 of the The Plant
through his website, and if greater than 75% of people pay the $1,
then he will release part 3. I urge you all to pay, as it's a great
story which I have already had the chance to read, and well worth a
token $3 that it costs.

No Credit Card??? No worries. You can still download the story & Pay
later via a cheque (Or even cash in an envelope if you really wanted)
that you can mail to the address that will be given to you when you
download the book.

This time King has decided to release the story as a .pfd file
without any protection within the file. This means that you can print
the file, copy it to another PC, share it with others etc without
having problems with any protection keys etc. Mac user? Again, no
problem provided you have a .pdf viewer (Adobe Acrobat).

King says the following about the release:
"My friends, we have a chance to become Big Publishing's worst
nightmare. Not only are we going glueless, look Ma, no e-Book! No
tiresome encryption! Want to print it and show it to a friend? Go
ahead! There's only one catch: all this is on the honor system. Has
to be. I'm counting on two things. The first is plain old
honesty. "Take what you want and pay for it," as the old saying goes.
The second is that you'll like the story enough to want to read more.
If you do want more, you have to pay. Remember: Pay and the story
rolls. Steal and the story folds. No stealing from the blind newsboy!"

Horrorking.Com has only had a few updates in the last few weeks due
to family problems. My Grandmother has been diagnosed with terminal
cancer, and given only a few weeks to live. My Mother-in-law is
currently in surgery (As I type this message) after a fall on her way
to work, and since it is winter here, the family has had the usual
doses of Flu etc, all which has conspired to stop updates to the
site. I have a few poetry entries to put on the site, as well as a
heap of character updates, common ties, and book errors to place
online as soon as I can.

I have noticed in the Logs for Horrorking.Com that there are a lot of
people coming from 2 sites that continue to get directed to mis-
spelled pages at Horrorking.Com, so they get the dreaded "404 Page
Not Found" error. Because these are relatively high traffic sites (10-
15 people per day from each, which is high for referrals), I decided
to create a custom 404 error page. If you would like to see it (There
is a pretty corny poem on it, but it was funny when I wrote it at 3am
one morning!) then please have a look at:

With the recent introduction of the 10% Goods & Services Tax (GST)
here in Australia, Horrorking.Com has become more expensive to host.
To help this, I would like all of you to please refer 10% more people
to the site (Grin). Actually the site hits have been steady at about
200-300 per day, which is great, and I thank you all for helping the
site grow.
