Hi Everyone,

Welcome to all the new members that have joined lately.

Well Stephen King has been happy with the support for The Plant so
far, and part 4 is now online at the address below. At almost 18,000
words, this is twice the length of previous versions, and also cocst
a bit more. This, and any future parts will cost $2, but King will
limit the book cost to $13 in total.

One interesting thing is that you can now download "Bundles" than
contain more than one version of the story - I chose one that
contains the Adobe acrobat, html and plain text versions of the
story, but there are other versions as well. To quote Stephen
King: "For those of you who haven't been paying, you know who you
are -- the blind newsboy is watching."

Thanks to Mitch Alden for pointing out this story about his band.
Horrorking.Com is proud to be one of the many King sites that have
been helping NOW is NOW with advertising for their excellent
song "Other Worlds", based on a small part of The Dark Tower seried
by Stephen King.

STEPHEN KING To Meet Modern Rock On The Steps Of His Own Radio Station

Mitch Alden, founder and songwriter of the Modern Rock band "NOW is
NOW," takes with him the support of thousands of Stephen King fans as
he heads north to King's hometown of Bangor, ME to perform live on
the airwaves of King's personally owned radio station, WKIT, 100.3
FM. This radio broadcast on November 9th will feature the cult
single "Other Worlds," a song inspired by Stephen King's bestselling
fantasy novel, The Gunslinger.

Like Stephen King, Mitch Alden has been using new and innovation
methods to get his work out to new listeners and his long time fans
alike.

"I've taken a different approach to getting my music to the masses,"
says Mitch Alden, whose unique songwriting style places the listener
inside the minds of their favorite bookıs characters. "Because
todayıs record companies are more like banks who spoon-feed their
opinions to the public, I elected to bypass them and use the more
direct approach to spread my music: the Internet."

During the three months 'Other Worlds' has been online, thousands of
Stephen King fans from around the world have downloaded the song for
free at "NOW is NOW's" MP3 site. After listening to to the song,
many have followed through by purchasing the CD at "NOW is NOW's"
website, using Mitch's "faith in people" approach of allowing the
listener to hear the CD before paying.

"I've been spreading the message of my music at the many unofficial
Stephen King websites and have managed to develop quite a large buzz
with his fans; most of them are now assisting me in spreading my
music even further. Like Stephen King, I realize how corporate
conglomerates take away so much from the artist. My vision is to
utilize the Internet to keep the corporations out of the picture and
keep the relationship with the listener intimate."

Mitch and his music have received extensive positive reviews from
other artists, disc jockeys, and listeners from around the world. He
has been nominated for a Boston Music Award, has contributed music to
several movie and TV soundtracks, and has appeared on radio stations
around the country.

Listeners interested a free taste of what "NOW is NOW" offers
musically can visit the band's MP3 website at http://www.mp3.com/NOW-
is-NOW. For more information on their "faith in people" approach to
selling their debut CD, fans can find details at http://www.NOW-is-

Thanks to Brian Freeman for the following story which was sourced
from Needful Things located at

http://www.castlerock.it/needfulthings

"Mick Garris was asked if the movie (Desperation) was being cut and
if it was being toned down from the novel due to the interest in
movie violence up on Capitol Hill. He said the reason that it is hard
to get the movie off the ground is that they do not want to cut
anything out of it and keep it brutal and hard hitting." (original
