IJO Orisa is an incorporated cultural organization. It is comprised of selected members who are representatives of the Orisa Egbes (societies). IJO Orisa offers its programs within the NYC Metro Area and serves Yoruba practicioners from the Greater New York Area including New York, Connecticut, Pensylvania, and New Jersey.

The mission and the purposes of the IJO Orisa are to preserve the Orisa-based spiritual and religious traditions, customs and legacy of our forefathers. This includes the spiritual and religious traditions of the indigenous Yoruba people of Nigeria, Dahomey, Benin, the Congo and those of the African Diaspora in the Caribbean area Cuba, Trinidad, Haiti, Brazil, and the United States.

The membership of IJO Orisa includes all active members of the various Orisa Egbes, ordained members of Orisa houses, and Yoruba practitioners with or without ocha. IJO Orisa opens its doors warmly to everyone to rejoice in the power of Orisa and experience the powerful blessings and renewal created by joining together in fellowship with one another.

IJO Orisa holds a fellowship service on the first and third Sunday of every month from 11:00am-1:00pm. Details about guest speakers, topics, and location information is emailed out to members of this group.
