"Local art aficionados gathered at Marco Island’s Orion Bank on Wednesday night to mingle and be inspired by local talent Malenda Trick. Trick displayed many of her paintings, examples of her licensed products and even created an original painting during “An Evening with Malenda Trick,” which is part of the Artist Appreciation Series."

Impressionist painting comprises the work produced between about 1867 and 1886 by a group of artists who shared a set of related approaches and techniques. The most conspicuous characteristic of Impressionism was an attempt to accurately and objectively record visual reality in terms of transient effects of light and colour."

"Renoir, Degas, Monet, Manet -- these were the leaders of the artistic movement that became known as Impressionism. Berthe Morisot is a less familiar name, yet she was one of the painters whose works were included in that first, revolutionary burst of Impressionist art in 1870s Paris."
