There is a new free pattern at the JPF Crochet Club web site! :)
This scrubber is designed for scrubbing hard spots on the soles of your feet
but it could also be used for scrubbing dishes. They are fast and fairly
easy to make. If you made several of different colors, they would make a
great addition to a bathroom or kitchen gift basket.

You will find it at
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/12dishcloths/bodyscrubber.shtml
Enjoy! :)

You are getting this email because you subscribed to receive notices of when
a new free pattern has been added to the JPFun Pattern Directory. There
have been some minor changes in the way the patterns are listed. You will
now see the newest patterns listed first in the directory. Also the date
that they were added to the directory has been removed.
Click the link below to go directly to the pattern directory.
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns

3 patterns have been added since my last email.
1 Free and 2 for paid members.

They are as follows.

Free Pattern
Popcorn Wreath Ornament Free
http://jpfun.com/patterns/03ornaments/popcornwreath.shtml
This ornament is made with an empty transparent tape core. One of my
favorite recycled items to use in making wreath ornaments. It is really fast
and easy to make and a great way to reuse those empty transparent tape
cores.

For Members
  Double Crochet Wreath Ornament Paid
http://jpfun.com/members/patterns/03ornaments/0318doublewreath.html
This wreath may look similar to others you may have seen but it is different
in the way it is made. You can make many of these in an evening since they
are so very quick to make! Imagine how many different color combinations you
can come up with by using different colors of yarn and ribbons. Like green
yarn with white or gold ribbon. You could also dress it up with fancy
Christmas buttons or even beads.

  Tulip Filet Kerchief Paid
http://jpfun.com/members/patterns/14misc/1423tulipkerchief.html
It seems alot of designers are into designing kerchiefs these days! Well
here is one that I came up with. Even though it is done in filet, I have
decided to write out the instructions as well as provide a graph to follow.
That way beginners in filet crochet can get a better sense of how to follow
a chart by actually seeing it written out.

  Scallop Edged Sachet Free
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/06sachets/scalloped.shtml
This frilly sachet is easy and fun to make and would make addition to a gift
basket which is filled with sweet smelling items for bed or bath. All I did
to make it smell sweet is to spray the stuffing and the outside with my
favorite perfume. Of course with the way this is made, you could use
Christmas colors and make it into an ornament.

======================
For Members Only
======================
  Sky Scraper Bookmark Paid
  http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/10bookmarks/1013skyscraper.html
This is one of those patterns that I started out not knowing what I was
going to come up with. I knew I wanted to create a bookmark, but I had no
idea what it would look like. Well this is what I came up with. When it was
finished, I thought it looked like one of those sky scrapers in NY.

  Little Square Doily Paid
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/11doilies/1120littlesquare.html
This little lacy doily may be just the thing you need to go underneath a
small candle. Or you can make 9 of these to make a larger doily. You can
even make a tablecloth with this doily by making a whole bunch! The last
round can be worked so they are joined to the previous one as they are
finished.

Hi There!
You are getting this email because you signed up to recieve notices whenever
a new free pattern has been posted at the JPF Crochet Club web site.
Unsubscribing instructions are at the bottom of this email.
-------------------------------

I have just posted 1 new free pattern and 2 new Members Only patterns on the
site!

I have also posted a new Free Pattern Sampler .pdf file on the site. It is
different from the one that was there before if you remember it being there.
The sampler has 15 patterns in it. All of the patterns are available on the
site. Some are free but most are from the Members Only area. One from each
of the 15 categories of patterns I design in.
You will find information about the sampler at
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/sampler.shtml.
You will need to request the actual url of the download link to get the
sampler. I want to keep track of how many downloads of the file it gets.
You will be able to request the url right from the page above.

  Soda Can Cover Free
http://jpfun.com/patterns/14misc/sodacancover.shtml
This cover is a result of a request by one of our site's visitors. It is
really easy to make and you can complete it in an afternoon. It's just the
thing you need to keep your fingers from getting too cold from the icy
cold-wet can.

========================
For Members Only
--------------------
  Shell Stitch Drawstring Bag Paid
http://jpfun.com/members/patterns/14misc/1424shellbag.html
This lustrous bag is great for any semi formal occasion. If you made one in
white, it can be used as a wedding reception bag for the bride. And this is
quick enough to make a one for each bride's made in the color that would
match their gowns. It is made in 3 sections. The main part of the bag is
made first, then the bottom is made and stitched on, then the casing and top
are made last on the first round that is made.

  Peek-A-Boo Square Paid
http://jpfun.com/members/patterns/01granny/0121peekaboo.html
This square has a little peek hole in the center of it and also the white
yarn on the last round peeks through the red yarn. So I could not think of a
better name. Imagine this square done in green white and red or 2 shades of
blue with white for the December holidays.

Send Email Send Email

Hi Everyone
By now you must have noticed that eGroups has started putting advertisments
at the top of all of the emails they send out. Well I do not like this and
I am sure most of us do not either.

In order to stop this, I have two options. I can either pay $5.00 per list
I own per month to get rid of the advertising, or switch to another list
server.

I would prefer moving the list to a new server.

Does anyone have any objections to being moved to topica?

You can find out more about their service at. http://www.topica.com/t/16

Do any of you have any suggestions for other list servers?

I do plan to do this with all of my lists that I run if I do not get too
many objections.
I really don't like to make changes like this, but Onelist/Egroups/Yahoo has
gotton out of control!

I also added a new free pattern to the site a few minutes ago! :)

Here are the details.

Lacy Ice Crystal Code: f1154 Category: doilies Date Added: September 4, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/11doilies/lacyicecrystal.shtml
This lacy design is fairly quick to make. The part that seems to take the
longest to complete is the last row. I did have to rip out a few rows, a few
times to get this to lay flat. I hope you like the results. This doily would
look great stretched in a wire hoop and hung in a window as a suncatcher in
the winter.

Also the pattern directory is different as well. I hope it is less
confusing to use now. When you get there, you will see the list of pattern
categories on the left and the new patterns listed on the right. Plus the
image is a link as well as the title of the pattern.

I am writing this to answer some questions that were asked and to clear some
stuff up.

It seems I may have written in the pattern link wrong so here is the correct
url. Sorry about that.
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/11doilies/lacyicecrystal.shtml

One question that was asked is what other lists do I have.
I have 3 that pertain to jpfun.com

Our discussion group which is jpfun@egroups.com.
Free Pattern Notices JPF Free Patterns. Not a discussion group.
JPFun Whats Up Newsletter. Not a discussion group. Just a monthly
newsletter.

I have gotten mixed messages about what I should do. Some are upset that I
am considering moving the lists, some say they will follow where ever I put
the lists and others have given me suggestions of other list servers to look
at.

Thank you for all of your comments on this. :)
What ever I decide to do, you will not need to do a thing except if you are
a member of the discussion group, you will need to change the email address
to the new one. But don't worry about that now. I will not delete the
lists at eGroups until after I decide where to move the lists.

Just so you will know, I have decided to move the lists.
I just have not decided which list server to use yet.
I will research a few today then decide tonight.

I just did not want to do anything without letting you know first.
This will give you a chance to unsubscribe if you want to before the move.
I will send out a message to you as soon as I decide.

Sorry about this.
I forgot to mention that,
I did not mind when eGroups put the ads on the bottom. I know they need to
make money somehow,
but when they started to put them at the top, well it just seems that it is
very distracting and takes away from being able to skim through the messages
easily to pick out the ones that need to read more thoroughly later.

I just uploaded a new free pattern called the Spiked Hotpad.

Spiked Potholder Free Date Added: September 12, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/02potholders/spikedhotpad.shtml
This CD hot pad is quick to make. If you have old CD's lying around, this
would be a great way to use them. You can also use this pattern as a
potholder. Just cut 2 pieces of felt 6" in diameter and place them inside
instead of using a CD. You could actually make a kitchen set, a hot pad and
potholders that all match!

===================================
I also added 5 new patterns for Members Only since September 4, 2000.

All Occasion Wreath Coaster Paid Date Added: September 10, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/08coasters/0817wreathcoaster.html
This coaster is very fast and easy to make, so quick in fact, you could make
a whole set of 6 in an evening, which would make a great last minute gift.
Just alter the colors to go with the occasion! :) You could make the first 2
rounds one solid color, such as white, then make the last 2 rounds green
then add a red bow for festive wreath coasters!

Covered Boutique Box Paid Date Added: September 9, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/14misc/1425coveredboutique.html
This boutique box is made with a recycled whipped topping container and it's
lid. It can be completed in an evening or two and would make a great last
minute gift to give to any lady or girl for their vanity. If you make it
with holiday colors, then it can be used as a container to hold goodies.

Beaded Wrist Strap Paid Date Added: September 8, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/07jewelry/0715beadedstrap.html
This wide beaded bracelet would make a great addition to any wardrobe. It is
has an elegant as well as a fun look and would look great with any style.
The black background sets off the pearlized black beads beautifully.

Cluster Cross Dishcloth Paid Date Added: September 7, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/12dishcloths/1215clustercross.html
This dishcloth pattern would also work well as a large granny square for use
in an afghan. I am not sure how big it would be if you made it with acrylic
yarn but I imagine that it would not be much different in size.

Frilly Scrunchie Paid Date Added: September 7, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/09scrunchies/0920frilly.html
This scrunchie an easy one to make but it does take some time to complete
since it is made with thread. You could actually make it with yarn to speed
it up but you would not get the same effect as you would get from thread.

Please excuse the ad at the top of this email. As you can see, this
list has not yet been moved to the new list server. So I am sending
this pattern announcement from eGroups.

I have just uploaded a new free pattern for an ornament.

Bulb Sachet Ornament Date Added: September 26, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/03ornaments/bulbsachet.shtml
This sachet ornament would look great done in a solid color as well
as
a variagated thread. You can stuff it with polyester stuffing as
shown
in the photo, then infuse it with a spray scent, or you can stuff it
with potpourri. If you have an artificial tree, and you have any
access to fir trees, you could cut a few tips off the branches of the
tree and use the needles to stuff it.

------------------------------------------
Plus there is one new pattern for members!

Lacy Snowflake Motif Paid Date Added: September 16, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/08coasters/0818lacymotif.html
This motif can also be used as a snowflake ornament but it has been
designed to be a motif which you could join with many more to create
placemats, table runners, large doilies or even a tablecloth. If you
made a table cloth with this motif, it would make a great take-along,
long term project. It would be breathtaking made in white. To make
this into a snowflake ornament, use size 20 thread and a size 11
steel
hook.

JPF Crochet Club New Free Crochet Pattern Notice!

I have just added a new free pattern to the JPF Crochet Club web site!
It is a "Pretty Snowflake".

This lacy snowflake is fast and easy to make and you could make
several in an evening! It is just the right size for filling those
large open spaces on your tree. You could also use it as a package
topper just like any other snowflake you can make.

http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/03ornaments/prettysnowflake.shtml

---------------------------------
There have also been 3 new members only patterns added to the site
since my last notice.

Popcorn Granny Square Scrubber Paid Date Added: October 6, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/12dishcloths/1216popgransquscrub
.html
This little scrubber pattern could do double duty! Not only is it a
great little scrubber, but if you made this square with acrylic
worsted weight yarn, you can use it as a motif in an afghan. This
would be a great way to use up your scraps! You could also make a
pillow with 9 of these squares sewn together.

Jiffy Bell Hat Paid Date Added: October 5, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/14misc/1426jiffybellhat.html
This hat, when you pull the cuff down, looks like a bell! Plus it is
super quick to make! It would make a fantastic last minute gift to
make and give! You could actually make more than one in an evening!
The secret is, using the new Light & Lofty yarn made by Red Heart!

Perky Pillowghan Square Paid Date Added: October 3, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/01granny/0122perkghansquare.html
Sorry, I could not think of a better name. ;) This pillowghan square
can be easily altered to make a small 6"x6" square or continued on
for
an afghan. It is very versitle. This square does tend to be wavy.
This
is a great pattern to use up scraps you may have.

Remember, all of the patterns I post include pictures!
So you will know what the project should look like when it is
finished.

NOTE: I have decided to keep this list at eGroups to save me time.
Plus I have not had the time to transfer all of the email addresses
to
the new location. That new list will be deleted.

JPFun What's Up
News from the JPF Crochet Club web site.
Where Crocheting is Just Plain Fun
*********************************

You are subscribed to JPFun What's up.
Unsubbing instructions are at the end of this email.

Date: Wednesday November 1, 2000
*********************************

The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you of what is going on at the
JPF Crochet Club site.

I also include little things that you will not find on the site.

=================================
>>>===> What's New
=================================
The Big news is I found a new server for the site and I am currently in the
processess of moving everything over there.
With this new server will come new features and benefits that will make the
site better for you.
Also better for me. We will now have our own List Server so all of the
email you get relating from our site will come from our site!
I will be placing ads in the newsletters in the future but they will relate
to crafts and other things that are of interest to Women.
Not every issue or mailing will have ads in them so you will not be
bombarded with ads.
If you own a web site and you would like to place an ad in a future issue,
please contact me for rates. They will be reasonable.

Since putting up the craft supply store, I have received only one order. So
unfortunately, it is not worth my time and effort to keep it going.
So I will be taking it down during the move to the new server.
I will be concentrating on finding sponsors and other sources of income to
keep this site going. Right now the main income for keeping this site
up and running is from New members.

You may have noticed that the security certificate I had on the site has
expired. I worked hard so that would not happen, but it did. I had a hard
time getting the host administrators to cooperate with me on this. So that
is another reason for the move to a new server.
I will not need to purchase another security certificate since I will be
able to use the one on the new server without cost.

I can also use the payment processor's secure server for payment processing
so your information will still be secure.
I also now accept PayPal payments as well!
So if you are not yet a member, you can still become one and your
information will still be secure.

In the future, I will be able to host exchange groups!
If you want to run an exchange, you will be able to set up your exchange
list on our server for free!
You will be able to post your guidelines, instructions, and member profiles
on our server!
Your members can enter in their own information to ease your work. They
will also be able to
remove themselves from your exchange group if they need to.

=================================
>>>===>Helpful Hint
=================================
Halloween is over! If you have left over candy that you were passing out to
trick or treaters, and you have kids, send the candy to the school where
your child attends and let them give it to their teacher to pass out among
the other kids in their class. This will get rid of it!

=================================
>>>===>Quick Craft Idea
=================================
To make the simplest and quickest of all scrunchies, use worsted weight
yarn, a size H hook, a large elastic. Join yarn anywhere on the elastic.
*Ch 15. Sc in elastic. Repeat this until the scrunchie is filled. Join
with a slst in the first sc.

Sorry about that, I made a mistake, I sent you the newsletter, JPFun What's
Up by accident. It was supposed to go to the people who signed up for the
newsletter, not for free pattern notices. Please forgive me.

It will not happen again.
I hope you enjoy the newsletter anyway.
I will be moving this list to my own server soon so hopefully the next
notice you get about new free patterns will be coming from our own servers.

You are getting this because you subscribed to receive notices whenever a
new free pattern has been added to the JPF Crochet Club web site.

A new free pattern has been added. Also a new member pattern has been added
since my last Free Pattern Notice.

Soap Holder Body Scrubber Date Added: November 8, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/14misc/soapholder.shtml
This soap holder doubles as a body scrubber meant for scrubbing rough areas
on your skin. If you want a softer scrubber, just substitute cotton yarn for
the nylon yarn. When the bar of soap gets small, just tuck a new one in with
the small piece of soap. So this is also a soap saver!

=========================================
You need to be a paid member to be able to get to this pattern.

Snuggle Handle Holder Paid Date Added: November 5, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/02potholders/0215snuggleholder.html
This tight fitting handle holder is just perfect for any cast iron skillet!
It fits like a glove! I do recommend you use cotton for this pattern for
extra protection. Do not substitute acrylic for this pattern. I also
recommend that you do not leave this on the handle while the burner is lit.
(especially a gas stove) It could catch fire. Only put it on when you are
actually going to pick up the pan.

In the near future, I will be moving this list to my own list server so I
hope by the next time I send out a message, it will be from that new server.

Hi There!
I just wanted to let you know that I added a new free ornament pattern in
the Pattern Directory!

Lacy Bell Ornament Free Date Added: November 24, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/03ornaments/lacybell.shtml
This lacy bell is fairly quick to make and would look great on your tree.
you could also decorate a Christmas wreath with it. It has a jingle bell on
the inside as the clapper.

The following 2 patterns are for paid members only! You will need your
username and password to access these patterns.
=============================
Santa's Stocking Paid Date Added: November 24, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/15holidays/1510santastocking.html
This stocking is made almost in the same way a knit pair of socks is made.
The cuff is made first, then the leg, then the heel flap. Then the foot is
formed then the toe. This stocking can also double as a boot sock to
actually wear! This fits me! I have a size woman's 8 foot! I think it looks
and works much better as a Christmas stocking though.

Lacy Shell Tree Top Angel Paid Date Added: November 10, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/04angels/0409lacyshell.html
This pretty tree top angel is perfect for a tree which is not very tall.
About 6' high would be about right for this angel. It is made in 3 pieces
which are assembled with glue. If you have a very big tree, you can attache
a hanger to the head and use the angel as an ornament.

Hi There!
I just wanted to let you know that I just posted 2 new patterns on the site
this morning. One is free and the other on is for members only.

They are as follows:

Center Cross Square Free Date Added: December 9, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/01granny/centercross.shtml
This square is perfect to use as an afghan square. You would get a very
dramatic look if you used one color for all squares in the afghan. Or you
could use it in a smaller project such as a placemat or pillow.

====================================
For Paid Members Only! You will need your username and password for this
one.
Web of Life Doily Paid Date Added: December 9, 2000
http://www.jpfun.com/members/patterns/11doilies/1123weboflife.html
This doily looks like it has a small spider web in the center of it and I
could not think of a name for this one so I asked my kids for a name idea.
This is what my step son Kevin came up with! Perfect!
