PLEASE NOTE: Kannon Do (Pron: Cannon-Dough) is a Zen Meditation Center located at 1972 Rock Street in Mountain View, CA.

This is an email list--not a discussion group. No discussion of any kind, including Zen practice or the Dharma, takes place in this forum. Kannon Do uses Yahoo Groups as a tool to distribute news and information emails that are specific to Kannon Do members, its friends and family.

This includes sangha news, sangha meetings, schedules, important updates, procedures, and volunteer opportunities related to Kannon Do. Also, sittings, retreats, activities, classes, workshops, and upcoming events at the Zen Center, and which are of interest to the majority of the sangha. Additionally, it is used to distribute electronic files that are of common interest to the members like bylaws, meeting minutes, to-do lists, etc.

To respect the hundreds of members and friends who have signed up for Kannon Do news and information we try to keep the volume of emails that are sent to the list at a minimum. Therefore we ask people posting to refrain from sending items that do not meet the above criteria, or that are personal comments, or using it for discussions, or using it for commercial concerns, or sending emails that are only relevant for a few members.

Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center brings the tradition of Soto Zen Buddhism to the San Francisco peninsula and the South Bay. We come together to sit, study Buddhist teachings, provide a supportive environment and explore the meaning of Zen practice in our everyday lives.

Kannon Do is a non-residential center, voluntarily maintained and supported by its members. There are no membership requirements to participate in its activities. Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center exists to support all those who wish to meditate. Everyone is welcomed at The Zen Center as is their support of meditation and mindfulness. There is no charge to come and meditate with us.
