hey 1866NiteLife.com members,

Below are reviews of JA Lounge in the West from Village Voice, Murph Guild,
Time Out NT, Club Planet & City Search. My friends & I have been going to JA
Lounge for 2 years now, and I have to say I call JA Lounge home away from
home.

Details below...

**********************************************

Village Voice:

Best DJ Lounge, Music - Ja Lounge
According to its business cards, JA LOUNGE is "the lounge that house built."
And true to its slogan, a recent weekend night found resident DJ Jon
Ferrari‹the poor man's Danny Tenaglia‹dishing up pounding tribal, trance,
and deep varieties. With its glass porch and linoleum feel, Ja Lounge is
more like Mel's Diner with a nightly Twilo makeover. Fortunately, the
excellent house music draws the usual unpretentious mix.      -Carla Spartos

**********************************************

Murph Guide:

Mature well dressed crowd and slammin' house music. - J.F.

I think the bar is a good place to hang out with friends. The ever fabulous
DJ Ferrari is off the hook! The bar staff does an excellent job. The place
is happening and much better than any of the bars uptown. I will definitely
miss it when I have to go back to Scotland in next year. - C.M.

Great place!  The best martinies ever.  Music and light are just great.
Great to hang out with small group of friends. - B.K.

Great place. Friendly atmosphere. Crowd know how to party. Music is
slammin'. - H.

**********************************************

Club Planet:

Long time New York scenesters Jon and Jade Ferrari popped the cork on Ja
(pronounced ha) on New Year`s Eve of 1999. The story goes that during an
intense conversation regarding the merits of various Rioja wines, Uncle Joe
turned to Jade after downing his 16th martini, looked up and said "ja" (ha).
Much of the story stays with Ja to this very day, particularly the part
about the martinis. Simply put, Ja has one of the best special martini lists
in the city, a visit wouldn`t be complete without sampling the Alizanna or
Ohranjade. If you`re lucky maybe Jon, the ambidextrous musical maestro, will
make you one himself while he cues up a 12 inch without missing a beat. The
decor in this stylish lounge is very Italian 1950`s, of note are the curvy
glass lamps which give off a soft glow in what must surly be one of the best
spots in New York to sip a Martini and get a free history lesson on the A-Z
of house music.

**********************************************

City Search:

My perfect lounge
You first walk in and can't help but notice the how small the place is, but
the music soon distracts you from that fact. Great house music! Chill crowd,
no snobbiness. Drinks were strong, and people were dancing in spite of the
lack of dance floor. If you like to relax to great house/trance music, but
don't want to deal with crowds and obnoxious bouncers with equally obnoxious
prices, come here!

Ja Lounge - The Lounge that House built
The lounge is small but that doesn't mean that you won't have a good time.
There is a great atmosphere and the service is first class. They have an
extensive cocktail list, the drinks are strong but that is the way most
people like them - right. Try a cosmo or a jade for starters then move onto
some shots. The music is taken seriously here and the DJ plays a variety of
music - tribal, progressive, trance, hard house ... Oh yeah and I would just
like to say that the DJ/bartender/owner is not obnoxious, everyone at the
lounge have always been really nice to me !!!!

**********************************************

Sheckys:

The Jade
Mixologist: Jade Ferrari, Ja

3 oz Gordon¹s vodka
2 oz triple sec
11/2 oz Bacardi light rum
One drop of blue Curaçao
Splash of Bacardi 151
Splash of peach schnapps
Splash of Midori liqueur
Splash of Sprite
Splash of club soda

Combine and stir with ice in a large goblet. Garnish with a lime slice and a
twist.

³The original idea was to create a power-packed martini‹using a lot of
different clear liquors‹that, in the end, would be smooth yet sweet,² says
Ja co-owner Jade Ferrari. Thus was born the Jade martini. But when Ferrari
craved something more refreshing, he added the last two splashes of soda and
a scoop of ice to turn the concoction into a thirst-quenching cocktail. Each
version comes in the most perfect hue of their creator¹s name, and each will
make those Cosmo girls green with envy.

Last Thursday I went three different niteclubsŠ

Shine, Discotheque and Centro Fly.

Shine from 11:00PM till 1:00Am was horrible! It was a bunch of Sound Factory
Saturday Jonathan Peters heads with out Jonathan Peters there. The Sound
Factory Thursday followers were upset with the party, although Sound Factory
DJ Cleveland promoted & spun for it. From what I understand... This crew
will be supporting Shine Thursdays for the next few weeks to help DJ
Cleveland get the party off the ground. 1866NiteLife will keep you updated
about this one.

******************************

Next was Subliminal Session at Discotheque around 1:30AM. I was impressed
with the party since there was little promotion & advertising for it. This
party was music driven all the way by Subliminal heads...
"Which is always a good thing."

Subliminal Session party was cancelled since the Main DJ, Erick Morillo is
away on tour. I will keep you updated on Subliminal Session when Erick is
back.

******************************

Last was Centro Fly around 3:00AM and the club was not packed, but not empty
either. In the Tapioca lounge had DJs Paris, Klutch, and Mutt. They had
everyone kicking back to there beats drinking the nite away. The main floor
was closed but the beats were on point in the Pinky Room with DJs John
Michael, Mada, and Moody. Mady & Moody are two very talented DJs that know
how to make a crowd get up and dance. I completely recommend itŠ. The vibe
was friendly; the DJs were on point & the party stayed open to 6AM!

This Thursday 7-25-02 DJs Eddie Alcivar, Nicky Buhda, Jerry Santiago & Tank
from Down Shift Radio will be spinning in the Pinky Room. And DJ Paris &
Mutt will be in the Tapioca lounge. From what was told to me... This
Thursday, Centro Fly will be open until 6:00 or 7:00AM.

Danny Howells has been with Made for a whole year now and they are going to
celebrate it this Saturday the 27th @ arc.

He never asks what time we are going to be home. He never says, "Who was
that girl you were talking to?!!?" He never nags when the dishes aren't done
and best of all, our time together is always magical. This must be why our
relationship has lasted so long. We have reached the one year mark and it is
time to celebrate. Danny will be treating us to his usual 10 hour set and to
further sweeten the pot, we have Bill Patrick spinning in the arcade from
1am on.

What a crazy nitelife week NYC was. All bars lounges & clubs were packed or
close to it. And I had the chance to go to 12 nitelife hot spots threw out
the week.

Monday was Bungalow 8, Sway, & Groove Jet till 6AM.

That's rite, one of NYC's hottest nite to party is a Monday. The Celebs,
models, wanna be models, nitelife icons & followers all in one.
You will never get that in one nite, even if you tried.

Mondays at Bungalow 8 is the CELEB spot of the week. P Diddy hosting with
his peeps, Eve chatting away with friends & the cast of Sopranos laughing
the nite away. The amazing part of this 5 star party is that none of the
celebs are above anyone, including Puffy. His was the coolest of them all.
"Do not even try to get into this celeb wonderland, it will not happen!"

Next is Sway. Sway is a small laid back lounge with a CREATIVE rock & roll,
hip-hop, Techno and oldies DJ named Baby Blu. The DJ spins two different
types of music and mixes into one. TELANT! Not only is the crowd hip, but
DJ Baby Blu spreads the ice on the cake. I do not know how Sway is on any
other day of the week, but Mondays are 100% recommended.

Groove Jet at 4:00AM Monday nite / Tuesday morning is packed! I cannot
emphasize enough on how packed it is all the way up to 6:00AM

***************

Tuesday's journey was to Abaya & Sweet 16. NYC Tuesday party goers can't
decide if Abaya or Sweet 16 is the hottest Tuesday party. They both have
great mixes of top 10 music. Both have the classiest females. And both have
a great friendly crowd. One partygoer said it perfectly... "I will stay
politically correct on this one, have enough energy to go to both."
The question is, which one first?

***************

Wednesday at Pangea & Sarafinas is the Class, Classier & Classiest
day of the week. One difference between the two, Pangea Wednesday music is
housey/commercial/trance and Sarafinas music is all ways on point with its
top 10 commercial Hip-hop.

***************

Thursday is the most fun of all! Eugene & Centro Fly are a must go!
Eugene's 11:00PM to 3:30AM the venue is packed! Packed with the most young
professionals spending their newfound money on the hottest 20 something
women under one roof that I have ever seen. The ratio was 2 girls per guy. I
rate this party as the #1 young professional social gathering party in NYC.
Now Centro Fly Thursdays is another story. "Promoter City" should be the
name of this party. Even Don from VIP drove out a 100 miles from Long Island
to be at this Afterhours event. The music was chill, the girls were hot, the
guys were respectful (except for one) and the party had a great vibe all the
way to 7:00AM! And we cannot forget the smooth tasting ice-cream served to
all at 6:30AM!

Friday nite was Diva Lounge in New Jersey to hear a 1866NiteLife DJ
Ted MayDay spin. The venue is nice, the food was done well, & Ted¹s perfect
beats made me dance my ass back to NYC to hear Danny Tenaglia at ARC.

"DJ Ted MayDay spins at Diva Lounge EVERY FRIDAY!"

***************

No one has never seen ARC Fridays packed with a global crowd.
No one could walk in the dance floor with out getting hit by one of Danny¹s
followers. Plus, Danny rocked the new paint off the walls with his new toy,
hand held flat drum. Danny's toy: http://www.allonetribedrum.com/
Danny is the *ONLY* DJ that actually comes out of the both while a long
track is spinning to dance with his fans. You can usually catch him acting
his silliest around 8:00AM

***************

Grand opening for Discotheque Saturdays was the 1st Saturday in a long time
that NYC club goers felt like it was a Thursday. Anyone that is hip on NYC
nitelife knows that Saturdays are for the weekend heads that work a
9 to 5 job and cannot go out during the week. Well, Discotheque Saturdays
changed all that. Finally!

REVIEW BY DIGITAL CITY:
In New York City, Diva Lounge would still be noteworthy: it's hugely
popular, for one thing, and quite visually appealing. It attracts an
affluent, attractive clientele, including a healthy segment of local
celebrities (Geraldo Rivera counts as a celebrity, right?) and athletes
(Martin Brodeur, Michael Strahan). All that would be worthy of note in New
York. But this is Jersey ...so listen up. Yeah, Diva is maybe a little
expensive for a Jersey club (if still way below what a New York club at this
level of stylishness would charge for one of those martinis). But it is
surprisingly comfortable for a club of its hipness (those velvet couches are
actually soft, and the copper-topped coffee tables are placed in positions
that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but ergonomically efficient). And,
perhaps most blessedly of all, the security (while very much present) is out
of your face and pretty much devoid of the Roid Rage demeanor that has long
defined Jersey bar/club bouncers and security. The dance floor is basically
always live, with different types of music every night of the week, and the
gourmet tapas (again, not cheap, but satisfying) work well as a post-
workout refill. Call in advance and reserve a table by the dance floor: it's
yours for two hours, you have your own waitress and the $20 minimum goes by
quickly enough that you won't even notice it. You'll be too busy noticing
everything and everyone else.

Hello everyone,

My name is Wendie. I have just recently joined this group, and I
haven't posted my info so here it is:

19/f/AZ I live in party town Lake Havasu City. Umm...if you want to
know more, ask me.

I know that a lot of the members here were in my group
peopleloveusravers. Cameron deleted the group because he's the
stupiest, weirdest guy I know. So if any of you are mad, send your
hate-mail to Cameron. I am trying to make a new group and get my
members back. Carl has just recently made a new group called
peopleloveusravers_new and I did one that is
PeopleLoveUsRaversandnotcameronjones. You'll probably want to join
the one Carl made. Oh, I am so mad at Cameron. I went to his house
and I yelled at him and I can't even remember all the things I said.
He never did anything to the group and for sh*ts and giggles, he just
deleted it. Weirdo! I feel like he's the mother who gave birth to a
baby and gave it up for adoption and I raised that child and took
care of it and he kidnaps my kid and murders him/her. I swear, the
boy is so stupid. Gosh, Cameron has 2 flies buzzing around in his
brain and that's it. And every now and then, the flies bump into each
other and he believes he gets a sudden epiphany and he thinks to
himself, "oh, yah, socks first, then shoes!" Sorry, guys; I know I'm
venting. I'm really mad. I do hope you understand.

Also, I'm asking for some help to rebuild a new group. I'll be gone
for 2 weeks to visit my sister in Washington. In the meantime, e-
mail Carl if you're interested or have questions or comments.
Carl: courtjester_78@...
Wendie (me): fodwandy@...

I apologize to the owner and moderators of this group.

Thank you everyone.

Lots of love,
Wendie :)

PS: Can't forget...Cameron's yahoo messenger name is
x_candyraverhuggles_x and x_twink_x. If you want to e-mail him, just
add @yahoo.com.

Hello,
I'm new to this group, so first I'd like to give you all a warm
hello. I really like rave, techno, house, trance, ect. However,
sadly enough, I do not posess the dance skills to, well, dance to
it. I mostly listen to it while I work, but would like to be able to
survive in a club. So, I'd kinda like to know if there's an
instructional video -somewhere- that I could pick up some moves
from. I'm really kinda cheap and can't afford lessons. Don't have
the time anyhow. And I can't just watch and immitate. Besides, I
live in rural Ohio. I'm nowhere near the club culture. But will be
exposed awfully soon, I can promise you this. So anyhow. Any help
at all would be GREATLY appreciated. I would be so so very thankful
if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Mark Tusay

Honey you can't watch an instructional video and learn to dance.
You can't dance good dancing someone elses dances anyway. You need
to close your eyes, hear the music and forget anyone is there. I
have many male and female friends who used to SUCK realy bad at
dancing. They used to try to watch others to get pointers. They
finally closed their eyes and kept doing it time after time. Now
they are some of the best dancers I know. They have their own style
and that's what ravin is all about.

Keep it real man.

Peace

Heres some tips that I know will work to improve your skills.
-grab you favorite tape.
-find a body lentgh mirror.
- play your tape in your room.
-just start from there.

Go to a couple raves and watch some good dancers to pick up some
steps and try at home then add your own flava.

Peace

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gamma Function Glows with Radiant Mixes and
Charged Grooves Generated by DJ Ellis Dee

Los Angeles, CA/August 17, 2002 – Gamma Function, the eighth CD
compilation from Southern California DJ Ellis Dee, delivers an
imaginative, thoroughly intoxicating blend of progressive trance,
tribal house and breakbeat mixes. For long-time devotees of
electronic music and new converts alike, Ellis Dee has set the mood
for a sonic celebration. Gamma Function is available this month
through Velocity / MDMA Records at all major music retail outlets
and online at www.mdmarecords.com and Amazon.com on August 20,
2002.

"I feel the tracks on Gamma Function are funky and engaging enough
to listen to both on a dance floor and anywhere else people want to
generate a unique atmosphere," notes DJ Ellis Dee. "Each mix I make
reflects my music mood at the time, and here I feel energy and
optimism. Because my moods change often, each one of my CD's is a
unique experience onto itself. I hope people from all walks of life
will dig Gamma Function and want to experience my other
compilations."

Musically, DJ Ellis Dee keeps it real on Gamma Function with a range
of tunes that generate many moods. He likens the experience of
creating the CD to a journey, and hopes the listener will visit
these places with open ears and an open mind. Gamma Function starts
off with East coast urban breaks scene with the likes of Criminal
Element Orchestra, Miraj and Lee Coombs with their crunchy, groovy
breakbeat style. It then slowly heads West and goes global and into
the progressive club scene with tracks by New Order, Tendroid and
Hydrogen Rockers. Finally, it ventures into the desert with the
uplifting, progressive trance selections of Redback, Cimmera, Sonic
Infusion and Oko.

Gamma Function – Page 2

Notes DJ Ellis Dee, "Gamma Function offers a great variety of music
in several different electronica genres. When I created it back in
the Fall of 2001, I drew upon several unforgettable breakbeat tracks
and progressive trance tracks that really caught my ear in recent
months. Sonic Infusion was especially uplifting for me as it
reminded me of concerts I experienced in the Mojave Desert."

Gamma Function includes such pieces as the driving, pulsating
Tendroid and Huda Hudia, the melodic and spiritual Sonic Infusion
and the infectious Hydrogen Rockers and Criminal Element Orchestra.
It reflects Ellis Dee's continuing passion for innovative British
and European mixing styles and American cutting-edge club breakbeat
music, and builds on his individualized brand of mixing and musical
interpretations established on earlier projects leading up to this
release, including Sophisticated High, Left Coast Funk and Liquid X
(some of which will eventually be released in future months). Though
Ellis Dee projects success, he hopes to take it in a different
direction from his famous and visible DJ counterparts.

"I enjoy being a low-key kind of DJ, and I definitely like not being
mainstream," he affirms. "For me, being a DJ is a spiritual and
creative outlet, and I like to make my own mix CDs on my schedule
with whatever tracks inspire me and play live events at my
discretion. Although I am spending an increased amount of time with
my work and compositions, I will never allow the DJ thing to get out
of control and have it be merely something I do for a living. I
need to keep it real, so it will always be something that's
enjoyable for me. I want to find a healthy balance between DJ-ing
and the rest of my life so they co-exist peacefully."
