My relatives come from all over Kent. Anyone with any information,
please get in touch with me. My cousin has done extensive research
on the family in England and I have the huge tree on my site at
pattenden.freeservers.com
I particularly want to know about pattenden's who came to Canada.
Thanks

looking for info on this family possibly known as waters, from
rolvenden or sandhurst. Mainly William Waters dob unknown married a

Sandhurst,Kent. Possible marrige being in Rolvenden
Hello everyone - I have a lot of different interests in Kent.
The SCOTT family of Rochester. George Scott was Master of the Union
School in 1851.
The HARRISON family who lived in Lewisham from 1890-1925.
The WELCH family who moved to Peckham from Whitchurch, Bucks in the
1870s.
The ELLICOTT family who moved to Woolwich from Devon in the 1880s.
Iwould be pleased to hear from anyone researching the same families.
Liz.
I'm Kevin from St.Louis, Missouri, and my ancestors that came from
Canterbury and the Kent area were the Gwynnes. One of my Gwynne
ancestors was Robert Gwynne who was mayor of Canterbury in the
1500's, and many of my Gwynne ancestors are buried in the Canterbury
Cathedral
Cemetery. Also, through this name is how I am a "proven" direct, 50
generation descendant of Charlemagne the Emperor, and yes to Queen
Elizabeth too. Then, through history much later on as you well know,
names were the same names, but had different spellings. In the New
World they dropped the "G", and spelled it Wynne, Wyn, Wyne, Winn,
and so on. In fact, yet another Gwynne ancestor of mine founded
Gwynne Island, Virginia, in 1608, which had been known as Fisher's
Island or Governor's Island.
I would love to know if there are any still living Gwynne Family
members living in England. Of course not everyone is genuinely
interested in family genealogy, so what it comes down to really are
people's interests, and I happen to have alot of them! lol
Thank you very much for accepting me into your group.
Sincerely Yours, Kevin
Hi Everyone.
My name is Annette.
My family was born in Kent, and they were the Blackman, Harley and the
Paterson family.
I know some parts of Kent is now part of London now.
The Harley Family owned a 100 room property mansion called Hazzelwood
House in shooters Hill, the Harley family are very well known in the
area and many other areas. They are the Earls of Oxford and Mortimer.
Now there is no mansion there now, there is only a Hospital there now
on the land.
I am also look for high class people, maybe some Lords, Earls and
Ladys.
From Annette, 7th great granddaughter of Sir Robert Harley, Earl of
Oxford and Mortimer.

I'm an American doing reserach on one of the Webb families that live in
Kent. My grandfather emigrated to the USA around 1912 or so but left
many siblings and cousins in Kent and, I think, Devon. I don't suppose
there is anyone living there who might be able to help me? Thanks!

Bill,
Have you looked on Genesreunited for your Webbs, there are quite a
few (over 300) from Kent and at least one from Sittingbourne. If you
need a message sent to anyone, let me know and I'll forward it for
you.
Sue
Sue- Wow, this is great! I wasn't aware of the site but I'll check it out.
All I know is that my family owned a fish market/butcher shop in Sittingbourne
in the early 20th century, I have a wonderful photo I would love to share with
them, as well as numerous letters from my grandfather's brothers and sisters,
and the 1901 census lists Albert Webb (my great-grandfather) as living on
Spring Street. I once met a gentleman from Sittingbourne who said the family
store
is still there, still run by the family, but that the goods it sells have
changed. I have no way of independently verifying that, however. Thanks!

Hi all - Keryn from Australia. My ggggrandfather was Thomas Studdams
born in Woolwich, England - found out Woolwich is in Kent.
Thomas was born in 1821, the son of George and Elizabeth. Somehow he
found his way to Australia and in 1857 he married Margaret Maddigan of
Limerick, Ireland.
In 1858 they had one daughter - Ellen Studdams and in 1857 Thomas died;
his wife Margaret went on to marry William Neal and Thomas and
Margaret's daughter grew up as Ellen Neal as part of William and
Margaret's nine children. What a good man William was to take on Ellen
as his own - but as I'm from Thomas Studdams, I want to know about him!
I feel that Thomas came to Australia on his own - only because I cannot
find any other Studdams - maybe he came with his parents, George and
Mary (from his death certificate) - but, it's more likely he came here
on his own. He died and his history disappeared.
I cannot find other Studdams anywhere - I have flirted with the surname
being spelt wrong and that's my only idea at the moment.
So, what I'm after is some information from anyone about Woolwich, Kent
and where I should go (via the net) to see if anyone can help me pin
down more information on the Studdams of Woolwich, Kent.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Keryn.

Hi all. I'm currently starting (well, I say starting...I've been at
it a few months and have somewhere around 6000 Tywmans recorded so
far) on a somewhat unofficial one-name-study of the Twyman family, and
would enjoy hearing from anyone with Twyman connections. Hoping I'd
be able to help anyone who contacts me, and vice versa. :)
