Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade on Saturday, Feb. 13. We want to make sure you'll

there's no time like the present!

Finally, the Mardi Gras Store on 365 is now open, Monday through Friday, 10 AM
to 5 PM, and although our big bead shipment won't arrive for another week or so,
you can still pick up t-shirts, posters, and decorations as well as advance
tickets to the festival. The store will begin opening on Saturdays a couple of
weekends before the festival weekend. Be sure and come on by to support your
Krewe!

MGSET is still in need of volunteers to work in the gates during the festival
checking ID's, cashiering, and serving beer/wine. Volunteers do NOT have to be
in a Krewe, and working a 4 hour shift gets you free admission that day! Sign up
for 2 four hour shifts and get free admission plus a t-shirt... not only that,
it's FUN! Contact Lisa New at 721-8717 if you're interested, and spread the
word, please. Volunteers are particularly needed for Saturday afternoon and
evening, but any time you can spare is appreciated. ;)

This is just a short note to let you know that krewe packages are
available for pick up at the Mardi Gras Store located at the Retail
Merchants Building on Hwy. 365 in Port Arthur.

The packages, containing your krewe t-shirt, poster, and weekend
passes, can be picked up between 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through
Saturday.

Ball tickets will arrive by mail at a later date.

It's Mardi Gras time, friends, let's get ready for FUN!!!

WE are, and we're here to help, too. Read on for some important tips and
reminders when it comes to this weekend's festivities.

First and foremost: Rain will not stop any Mardi Gras activities. There may be
some delays and/or adjustments, but the show will go on!

Have you picked up your membership materials at the Mardi Gras Store, located at
Retail Merchants on 365 in Port Arthur? Remember there are several important
items included in these packets, including your tickets for every night of the
festival. Stop by and get yours if you have not already done so!

Speaking of the Mardi Gras store, we still have plenty of beads, and remember,
as a member of the Krewe of Aurora, you're entitled to a 10% discount. Support
your krewe and shop with us!

By now, everyone should have been contacted by a float captain. If you have not
heard from anyone yet, please give Laura Childress a call at 721-8717 and she
can help get you lined out.

Finally, MGSET could still use a few more volunteers, as it seems there are
never enough. Volunteers get in free for working a four hour shift and do NOT
have to be members of a krewe. Work 2 four hour shifts and get a t-shirt too! If
you can help, please call Lisa New at 721-8717 today and she'll get you signed
up.

BIG fun is ahead this weekend, we'll see you there!

The threat of inclement weather has prompted the City of Port Arthur to cancel
all Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas activities for Thursday, according to
information from Chief of Police Mark Blanton.

Thursday's pre-sale tickets will be honored Friday.

Favorable weather is expected for the remainder of Mardi Gras and all other
activities are scheduled to take place.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 12.

Hey Aurora, have you signed up your kids to ride in the Sunday Parade yet? If
not, you need to call Paige Bigler  at 409-718-5988 ASAP to do so.

Remember, this events is for the children of MEMBERS ONLY, and is open to kids
between the ages of 5 and 18. The charge to ride is $10 per child, and every
rider supplies their own beads. It promises to be a blast, but in order to get

of the Krewe member, as well as the names and ages of the kids you wish to sign

Remember, this events is for the children of MEMBERS ONLY, and is open to kids
between the ages of 5 and 18. The charge to ride is $10 per child, and every
rider supplies their own beads. It promises to be a blast, but in order to get
in on the fun you need to make that phone call! Paige will need to know the name
of the Krewe member, as well as the names and ages of the kids you wish to sign
up.

checking ID's, and many other fun and interesting opportunities await. There are

volunteers don't have to be members of a krewe, if you'd like to bring in some
