Subject: Parker Lighter

I have a Parker electric lighter. It works on batteries. It's a
statue of a woman that is made of metal. It has a tube in the base
that you pull out and touch the side of the tube against a metal
rail around the base. Then you touch the tip to the metal statue. It
has a coil that heats up and lights a wick at the end of the tube.
I've put two "C" batteries in the base, because that is
what fit. It will smoke but doesn't get hot enough to light the
wick. Does anyone have one like this? I've checked the voltage
with a meter and I am getting 3 volts which is correct for two
"C"
batteries. This is quite old. Did it take different batteries.
Any help appreciated,
George

Hello All, My name is Curly Schofield from Helena Mt. My son came
home the other day with a lighter he found on the road. It is in the
shape of a matchbox car, (a gray porche?) The front end hinges on one
side to reveal the elecronic butane lighter. It is refilable and
appears to be a good quality lighter. the rear window is blue plastic
and flashes when the lighter is opened. I can't find a name or number
anywhere on it. Can anyone tell me who makes these. Thanx in
advance...Curly

Do you know if Zippo will fix an original insert? I have some old
inserts from the 60's and do not want to replace with a new one.

One has a broken spring and the other has the rivit broken that
holds the spring to the insert.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have a couple of inserts that I would like to have repaired, I
just sent off an e-mail to Zippo.com to see what they said.

Let me know if you have a source or info on this.

That is great, I am fairly new to collecting so I don't have a lot
of spare parts etc. Do you have any USS Navy ship zippo's? The DD-
and the DDG- are the ones closest to my heart. I served aboard DD-

That is great, I am fairly new to collecting so I don't have a lot
of spare parts etc. Do you have any USS Navy ship zippo's? The DD-
and the DDG- are the ones closest to my heart. I served aboard DD-
830 and DDG-20 in the 60's

Thanks Dennis

Hey, how's it going? I just joined because I recently started a
lighter collection. I have a problem with one of mine, and was
wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. I have an old Ronson
lighter/cigarette case, which I did a little research on, and
discovered it from the Mastercase series. The problem I have is
that the flint seems to have been left alone in the chamber too
long, and has hardened and sealed shut. I've tried to chisel,
drill, everything I can think of to unclog the chamber, but nothings
working. If anyone has any ideas, or knows someone who might,
please let me know. Thanks.
