This world-wide group is for those interested in supplementing their genealogy research with a simple DNA test for the surname Maddox and all various spellings in order to overcome seemingly insurmountable brick walls. However, you do not have to participate in DNA testing to be a member. There are well over 100 members at present.

After combining our efforts to help you locate documentary evidence of your line, we will put together an expanded pedigree chart (including siblings of your direct ancestors) for you and place it on our publicly-viewed web site at http://maddoxdna.com . People doing an internet search for anyone in your line will be shown our website. The administrator keeps a file on every member's ancestors to better assist you when requested.

Members will be assisted in verifying ancestry as well as locate distant cousins who may be interested in doing the Y-chromosome (male gender selective) test. It is just a simple saliva swab and the person's real first name need not be used if so desired. The Y-chromosome of each family has a unique "finger print" which is passed down relatively unchanged father to son to son to son for some 500 generations.
