Issue Regs: Operation Stone Service Period (V'nam) Preserve
your family's military legacy for future generations...
For years
Communist infiltration had succeeded in the fertile area of Duc Pho
which, due to enemy dominance, provided food and materiel to North
Vietnam as well as sustaining enemy forces in a wide area. To eliminate
Duc Pho’s undesired and forced support of Communist forces, Operation
Stone was implemented. The eleven-day, predominantly United States Marine
Corps operation was enormously successful. Communist control was
eliminated and its presence sharply diminished. Authorized for Active
Duty and Ready Reserve Service service during the Operation Period.

Alleged Soldier Discrimination at Texaco Gas
Station
Currently a youtube video containing virulently racist
language is being circulated by some veterans, non-veterans and
organizations alleging that an American Army soldier in uniform was
racially denied service at a Bogalosa, Louisiana Texaco gas station. A
review of this alleged incident by The American War Library has found no
factual basis at this time that this alleged incident occured in the
manner alleged by the video's creators. The incident appears to be absent
of foundation and credibility despite a number of local citizens residing
in Bogalusa, LA were persuaded to believe the incident occurred without
seeking verification or any degree of substantive evidence.
The
video in circulation is overtly racist. It is narrated by an individual
who, in any previous era, could well be hyping a non-existent incident
for the purpose of inflaming outrage against local blacks, Latinos,
Asians or other American minorities.
Although this video is being
highly circulated by a local person claimed by some residents of Bogalusa
to be a known racist, along with right-wing and ultra-Conservative
groups, the local Bogalusa LA newspapers have refused to publish the
alleged 'incident' and preliminary investigations by the US Army District
Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Southern
Poverty Law Center, The Texaco Internal Security Office and the local
Civil Rights Office of the US Justice Dept have determined that there is
no basis for belief that the alleged incident occurred either at all, or
in the manner alleged in the youtube video.
The soldier alleged in
the video to have been discriminated against cannot be located and
despite requests by regional US Army commanders pleading for him to file
his report, has not come forward after a five-day appeal.
The
proprietors of the gas station remain insistent that no such
discriminatory incident occurred.
The preliminary summary by The
War Library is that a person or persons unknown are attempting to
encourage discrimination or violence against a lawful business due to its
owner's racial or ethnic heritage.
All American veterans are asked
to refuse all solicitations coming from any source to forward content or
notification of this youtube video, and to permanently preserve the email
address of the individual or group who emails you this video or video
link.

Almost to the date, twenty-four years after the Department of
Defense under Frank Carlucci assisted The American War Library in
establishing a publicly accessible, online list of Medal of Honor
recipients, The Supreme Court de-criminalized a portion of the Stolen
Valor Act by removing the principle means (verbal) by which most medal
frauds falsely claim to be a recipient of an American military Honor. The
War Library offers a practical and realizable remedy to the Free Speech
exclusion under our Constitution to lie. Full text here:

The Armed
Forces Service Medal is authorized to members of the Armed Forces who, as
a unit, participate in a United States military operation deemed to be a
significant activity and who encounter no foreign armed opposition or
imminent hostile action. In many respects, this provision makes the award
a non-combat parallel of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Click
