GAMA is introducing a new program - The Art College at Origins.? We will be
offering over 90 classes during the course of Origins.? We have class levels
offered from complete beginners to advanced freehand design, "Painting Reds" and
Painting skin tones just to name a few.? There are also terrain classes,
cartography classes (map making, Silly!), sculpting classes with Sandra Garrity
(yes, THE Sandra Garrity) and "Drawing and Shading the Dragon" with renown
artist Ed Beard, Jr.? We have minis for classes from Dark Sword, Iron Wind
Metals, Eureka Miniatures, Reaper Miniatures, Wyrd, Anima-Tactics,
Armorcast/Lance and Laser, Ex-Illis, Kryomek, Red Shirt Games and Flames of War.
We've also revamped the Bring In Miniature Painting Contest.? Best of Show
Artists takes home the GAMA-HAMMA',?a gorgeous custom sculpted war hammer as a
trophy.? Prizes include a full set of Reaper Master Series Paints, Dragons from
Dark Sword and Reaper Miniatures, 54 mm miniatures, Vallejo Flames of War Paint
Sets?and a Limited Edition book from Privateer Press - to name a few.?
Professional photographs will be taken of all winning entries and featured on
the Origins web site.
We will also be running the very popular "Iron Paintbrush-Origins Edition" for
the first time at Origins.? This wildly popular game which debuted at
HMGS-East's Historicon is part speed painting, part bits bashing and a whole lot
of painting goodness and fun.? Painters work in teams of 3 to complete in 1.5
hours a mini-diorama out of materials that we supply (each teams gets identical
kit).? There are also "random" elements decided by die rolls that must be
included in the piece.? Expect belly dancers, fun music and heckling from the
painting staff.? The winning team gets the title of Iron Paintbrush, fabulous
prizes and entry badges for Origins 2010 to defend their title.

Subject: [mini-painter] Origins and Gen Con game conventions; anyone going?
I am going to both, have registered for a couple of mini basing seminars.
Considering some mini painting seminars. Any recommendations?
Anyone else going to either convention?
