hi all

Just wanted to give you my update on my situation with my co-worker.

Well, I took the majority of the advice which was to speak directly to my boss
which I did several weeks ago. She was very upset with the fact that my
co-worker thought that she could push me around and give me her work including
other co-workers.

She is now very upset with our boss so bad that she is taking it out on others
by yelling at them and refusing to do her own work.

Anyways when the boss comes back on Monday, she will find some co-workers who
are not too happy. The other co-workers have already written her an e-mail and
sent it to her so that when she returns to the office on Monday, it will be
there to be read.

I did what I had to do so let the others go to her now. I am not going to run
to our boss unless she gives me another problem.

We had snow here on Friday. It is slowly melting today due to warmer weather.

I am reading a book called "Ugly Ducking" by Iris Johansen.

   It is a suspense book.

I love to read. Patrick's books from Scholastic are interesting to read also.
I like to read the scary books that he gets.

Not sure what we will be having for dinner tomorrow. So far, we have had a
pork roast, corned beef, ham and steak including hamburgers, hot dogs and
chicken and pork chops. Maybe we will have a pot roast for dinner. I will cook
it in the crock pot. Have to go grocery shopping tomorrow anyways.

   Take care.

   sue

I do not know how to go about this-what is the most polite way to tell a new pen
pal that you do not wish to write to them anymore. I know that I will not
click with a certain person, and I know the letter writing will not last. So I
wanted to politely end it now, does anyone have any suggestions? The person is
very nice, just not for me, any help would be appreciated, thanks Keri

I want to thank everyone that answered my question, either on the groups or
privately. 99% of the replies said that I should just send a nice thank you
letter, and make it pretty general just saying that I do not think we have
enough in common at this time to be pen pals. That I do not feel we "click" as
pen pals. But I will wish her well and thank her for writing to me. So I am
home today and I have dedicated the whole day to writing letters, so I will
include this one in the mail also. I really appreciate all of your advice.
Like I said this person is very nice, and I hope she doesn't get hurt, but she
is just not a pal for me for a few reasons. Thank you very much for all of the
help, have a great day, Keri

Just tell them you are too different or you wanted X....whatever.

Be complimentary that they are nice, but just not enough in common
for you.

It would also be nice to offer another penpal/person you know that
they might like.

I'm 45, married mom of 3 (24, 11, 8)...do most crafts, love to vegie
garden, interested in vegetarian/vegan diets, ancient history and
religions, God, Bible (am Christian but most of Christendom's stuff
is stolen from pagan)...am very active on yahoo answers religion and
spirituality section.

What is the unacceptable difference if I may ask? You can email me
at debbiepittman@...

I also swap lots of fbs and such plus sometimes teas, craft patterns,
incense, local area souvenirs, etc.

Hi All,

This past week has been a busy week for me.

We went to my husband's brother's wedding on Thursday evening.

It was nice. It was a second wedding for both. i wish them all the best.

This week in work has been crazy. My son Patrick is coming with me to work on
April 24, 2008 where you can bring your son or daughter for work day. They are
going to be giving him a backpack, water bottle, ruler, scotch tape and other
things all personalized for him to use in school. They are also going to feed
the children breakfast and lunch including the parents. He will learn all about
my job including the claims department.

I worked in my garden last Sunday and today. I have lots of crocus up and my
tulips are getting larger. My hyacinths are coming up as well as my daffodils.

I love to watch the flowers come to life. I can see my bleeding heart plant
coming up through the soil. I have lots of daylilies which are getting larger
and my iris are coming up.

I also have other plants but they are summer flowers so they will not come up
until approximately mid May. They are balloon flowers and phlox.

   Take care.

Hi all

Today I planted 16 pansies in purple with white. Next weekend, I will plant
some petunas.

I will be picking up the 15 freschas bulbs that I bought from Patrick's school
on Tuesday. I hope to put them in the garden out in the back.

Boy, the flowers are coming up great!! I have purple tulips and my daffodils
are blooming.

I also have hyacinths and out in my back yard, we have the lilac trees
starting their flowers.

I also have virginia bluebells that are blooming and the rose trees have lots
of leaves. Hopefully, they will produce a lot of buds. They are purple roses!!

I also have a pink rose tree and several miniature roses.

I have lots of daylilies and some are reblooming daylilies. I also have
butterfly bushes, bleeding hearts, balloon flowers and scabasia and carnations.

Everything at work is going well. I took my son Patrick to work on Thursday.
They gave the children (there were a total of 21) a backback, water bottle,
measuring ruler, pens, post it notes and flashlight. He also received a t-shirt
with the Travelers name on it. Of course all of the items have the logo on them
(the red umbrella!).

They all had a good time. They were given breakfast and lunch and snacks.

They even got to put together a computer. They enjoyed that part the best

   Take care

You deserve it. My husband and my son are taking me out to dinner today.

We also went out for breakfast.

I planted 15 freschas bulbs and 3 dwarf phlox today. The dwarf phlox are
pink,
   purple and red.

Patrick made me a beautiful bracelet with crystals and a dragonfly on it.

Well back to work again tomorrow.

hi all,

   sorry for my late response.

I have been busy getting my garden in order. On Sunday, I planted 7 tomato
plants and will be planting squash, cucumbers, green beans and carrots this
week.

I am reading a book called "Twice Kissed" by Lisa Jackson. It is a thriller
about twin girls and murder involved. It is very good.'

We had steak for dinner on Sunday with a tossed salad and we tried the
Wishbone Bountiful dressing. It is ok. I like Italian Dressing already but
prefer the regular Italian dressing.

Today, I went back to work after having Friday off from work. On Friday, I
went to my son Patrick's school where they celebrated Arbor Day by of course
planting a tree! They had a d j and all of us had a good time.

Patrick's last day of school is on Wednesday June 25, 2008. He has his moving
up ceremonies on Monday June 23, 2008. He will enter 6th grade in September
2008.

I planted fuscha petunas and pink and fuschia impatients.

I hope everyone else is well.

   Talk to you soon.

Hi All

I was glad that David Cook won last evening's American Idol performance.

He did a fantastic job singing with Z Z Top!!

I may have to get my right arm checked out by my physician as it has been
bothering me. It is very painful and difficult to lift without experiencing the
pain. If I touch the bone near the elbow, it is very painful also.

Several weeks ago, it felt like something was moving around inside my right
arm and now I am experiencing this severe pain.

I hope that it is nothing serious. If it gets worse this weekend, I will have
to go to the emergency room

   take care

hi all

today, my arm is very painful. I do have a brace that I think that I will
start to wear to see if that makes it feel better. Otherwise, I think that I
may have to go to my physician.

I hope that everyone is enjoying their Holiday Weekend.

Yesterday we went to all of the relatives' graves. A lot of them were war
veterans including my father, my uncle and my grandfather.

I was surprised about American Idol but I still was happy as I think that
David Cook is very talented and will go far. He reminds me of Chris Daughtry.

Last weekend, I planted 7 tomato plants, this weekend I planted cucumber
seeds, green bean seeds, squash seeds and in flowers, I planted fuschia petunas

I am reading a book called "Whispers" by Lisa Jackson. So far, it is very

Today for dinner we are having chicken breasts, baby carrots, mashed potatoes
and for dessert, I got Hood Ice Cream. It is called New England blueberry with
cream.

It looks a lot like black raspberry ice cream.

   Take care

hi all,

Today it rained all day long off and on.

Last Sunday, I planted all of my seeds in the garden. So far, nothing has
come up and it does not come up by next weekend, I will plant a replacement.

My pink rose tree is getting larger. I have about 8 buds so far on my purple
rose tree.

All of my flowers are coming up nice. This year is the first year that my
iris produced flowers.

I want to cook a pot roast tomorrow for dinner with mashed potatoes and
vegetables.

Today we went grocery shopping and boy have the prices on everything gone up.

What usually costs $5.00 is now $6.00. Every item on the shelf has gone up.

Gasoline here in Ballston lake, New York is $4.05 per gallon.

I am reading a book by Nora Roberts called Creation in Death. She is writing
as J D Cobb.
   so far, it is good.

   Hope everyone else is well.

Next Saturday, I will be 52 years old.

All,

As it was my 52nd birthday on Saturday,  I spent the day with my family
which was my husband and our 10 year old son.  First we went out for
lunch.  I had chicken noodle soup as well as a mini roast beef sub.
We then went to visit friends where I was given a crossword puzzle which I love
to do as well as a book of poems.  We later went out to dinner to a
restaurant called Barnsider.  I had a 12 ounce prime rib as well as a
tossed salad, homemade bread and baked potato.  Everything was
delicious.  Patrick was quite the little gentlemen.  He pushed in my
seat on two ocassions.

Friday at work, lightening struck the building next door to ours and we were
without power so we got to go home at about 9:30 am.  Nice day off!!

Take care.

I am reading a book called No daddy No.  It is a true story and very
upsetting as the father murdered his own daughters.  It was about a history
of abuse to both of his wives as well as his children.

I planted some more peas in my garden as well as a few more squash seeds and
about 75 green bean seads.  I have 50 green beans so far as well as about
40 pea plants.

I also have 7 tomato plants which have about 6 small tomatoes so far.

I have 6 cucumber plants and 3 summer squash plants.

Take care

Sue

Hi everybody !

Roughly 32 months ago I created the House of Friends. It's comparable
with a "virtual house", in which friends of all over the world spend
some time together with talking about everything, exchanging
experiences, discovering the countries and cultures of each other,
learning about daily life in other countries, sharing joy and
disappointment - everything they like to do. All communication we will
do within our group. That's the simplest way to learn to know each
other.

Everybody is invited to stay in our "virtual house" as long as she / he
is interested in our activities. We want to learn about each other and
not to be a group of silent members (there are enough other Yahoo groups
around) !

So if you like to write about your country, your life and yourself, you
are invited to join our House of Friends:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/House_of_Friends
<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/House_of_Friends>

Hope to meet you there next days.

Ciao, Thomas

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well.

Here is my recent information:

Pat and I are doing well. patrick had his science fair project on thursday and
his group of 3 guessed what was in the box.  It was a fireball that was
blocked by three small groups.

There were 5 groups of 4 children and his group was the only one who
guessed it correctly.  Boy was a proud!  He also got the opportunity
to speak in front of all of the class including the parents.  He did a
wonderful job.

I am reading a  book called the Lake of Dead Languages by Carol
Goodman.  It is about a lake in the Adirondack Mountains where several
girls were killed by drowing and now 30 years later, the girls are once again
drowning.  They are being murdered.

So far, it is very good.

My garden is doing well so far.  I have lots of flowers on my tomato plants
and several small green tomatoes.  I also have put in squash, cucumbers,
peas, corn and green beans.  Everything is coming along good so far.

We had a bad thunderstorm today with heavy rains but nothing so devastating as
the flooding in Iowa and Indiana including other states.  my heart and
prayers go out to those involved.

Patrick will be out of school in several weeks and my husband takes care of him
during the summer months.  He is a full time school bus driver and options
not to work during the summer so that we don't have to pay for daycare.  It
is a good savings for us.

In a few more years, we won't have to worry about the cost of daycare as Patrick
will be 11 years old in July and in several more years, he will be a
teenager.  He will still need adult supervision during the summer months
but not during the school year as it will be only 1/2 hour in the afternoon
before I get home.

Work is about the same although there are rumors going around that something big
is coming down in July!  I just hope that it is not a company downsize as I
was involved in one of those about 13 years ago.  You never know with
insurance companies when your job will be gone.

Anyways, hope everyone is well.  Tomorrow is Father's Day and I wanted to
wish those dads out there and those moms who have been both mother and father
and wish them a very Happy day.  We are going to be taking Pat out for
dinner and I bought him a craftsman baseball ht with LED lights on it that light
up white and red.

Take care.

Sue

Hello everyone my name is Paula Seward. I am looking to make some new
friends. I will start off by telling you a little about myself. I am
32 years old, single, and live in Perry Oklahoma. I have 7 half-
brothers, 2 brothers, and 5 half-sisters. Along with 6 dogs and 3 cats.
I love to do just about anything as long as I am doing something. I
love keeping busy, being with friends, family, penpalling, a little of
everything. Some of my hobbies and interests are camping, hiking,
writing letters, flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores, festivals.
I collect stationary and stickers of all kinds I love to be out in
nature, as much as possible. I would love some steady pen pals! I would
like pals that write more than a little note and call it a letter, I
would like to make friends, not just have a bunch of notes. Well that
is a little bit about me, if you think that we can hit it off as
friends feel free to drop me an email at nowfriendsforever@...
Please put PEN PALS in the subject line, so it does not get deleted as
spam. I look forward to making many new friends,

                   Paula
