Live use of video sampling has remained an under explored medium since it was
pioneered by Emergency Broadcast Network in the early 90’s.  Nau-Zee-auN’s
opening set on December 12th will be the world’s first live performance to
incorporate midi controlled 3D video samples.  Come early.

Forced Nature Volume One features 10 tracks by FON artists LAN Formatique,
synnack, Freeze Etch, Concrete Cookie and the Maggot Farmer, Perfection Plastic
(unreleased!), and The [law-rah] Collective (exclusive!).

As if this line up wasn't enough, this is Winterkälte's 1st US tour in
over half a decade.

This is also the first time my band, Nau-Zee-auN, or anyone else for
that matter will use 3D video samples as part of a live performance.
If you can make it, come early and request 3D glasses.

What constitutes 3D Video sampling? Let me break it down into the
components.

Video sampling is the playing of recycled video clips, triggered by
either a sequencer or a midi controller (i.e. keyboard, drum
interface, etc.).  The first midi controllable video sampler was made
by the band Emergency Broadcast Network.  Here's a sample of what they
did with it -

Now take Video Sampling and add 3D.  I'm sure you've seen 3D movies
where you wear special glasses that filter out imagery intended for
each eye before.  This is the same idea except that each eye sees a
different perspective from a different clip every time a drum is
struck or a key is pressed.

How can we sample 3D video?  We couldn't reasonably use standard 2D
television and movies to generate 3D video samples, so we had to shoot
3D video ourselves.  8 hours of twin camera footage was shot, kept in
sync and chopped to create 3D video samples.  Months of work to
finally put together what you can see on December 12th shortly after
doors open.

Nau-Zee-auN's 1st show since debuting the first 3D video sample performance (see

Adams (Battery Cage, Zero Times Infinity, Grenadier), the second performance to

special and unique show.

Nau-Zee-auN is a multimedia industrial band that has collaborated with or
remixed countless acts including Merzbow, Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle),
and Terrorfakt.

The Vomit Arsonist will also be putting on a rare show using a Arp 2600 and
being joined by Clint Sand (Synnack, Cut.Rate.Box) and yet another surprise
collaboration.

Just as sick is what I saw Mike D’Errico at his senior recital and UNH.  As
humbling to watch as seeing Einstürzende Neubauten live.  Mike D. is a
classically trained percussionist who is simply jaw dropping.  Marimbas to
acoustic kits to electronic experiments to piano to break beats … this guy can
blur the lines from hip hop to classical to industrial to jazz to breakcore in
ways that I have never seen anyone else do.

'The debut of my 'Daytrip to the Asylum Vol. 3' DJ/VJ series will be performed
on March 19th. This will only be performed a few times, so I hope that you get a
chance to see it live. I will eventually produce a live dvd performance for it,
but though I hope that interests you as well, it's not the same as seeing it in
a venue...loud.

'This performance is unlike anything I've done before...for those whom are
familiar with my work. It utilizes both of my primary skills of dj'ing and video
editing in a focused performance.

'Also, I rarely get a chance to throw-down with my fellow Jersey beat-pounder DJ
Hellraver. Expect a Hell-ish evening of pure, unrelenting
elektronik/experimental/industrial music & video. This will be a treat for us
for sure...as we plan that it will be for you too.

On August 30th in 1996 we performed for the first time as Zero Times
Infinity.  This was my and Chris' first performance (Rick was already
making music as Ennui at that time which has since changed names to
Technology Will Fail).

This Friday a reunion of some of the original
line up will perform an updated live experiment at Champions, in
Everett as part of Decibalia V along with many other excellent acts
including our long time friend DARRYL HELL who will be bringing his
experimental project OPERATION:MINDWIPE to Massachusetts for the first
time since the VOIX.

Our set may be on as early as 10PM and there are acts worth seeing as
early as 8PM so please come early.
