I just finished NINE DRAGONS, and liked it. Altho' I was amazed that they could
find that hotel room on their first try out of all the buildings there.
Connelly's SCARECROW was very good too. Connelly's are the only series that I
read most all of them.

Have yet to read any DeMille books, altho' I've had CHARM SCHOOL on my shelves
for a long time.

Another fan of the books here. The series is terrific. So happy this was played
straight and not winking at the audience.

This was more of a suspense novel to me, however. I expected
more of a twist at the end also, even if the solution of the
so-called mystery seemed fairly apparent halfway through.

Larsson seemed to be on a crusade. Political criticism by mystery or something.

A very good writer but in the end a soapbox lessens the impact of a story. I
will buy the next book if the reviews tell me that the mystery is more about
suspense that agendas. I don't care if I agree with the writer. I just don't go

A novel by John Connelly and historical fiction by James Ellroy.

While I often like a free-form approach to fiction, Ellroy's book is built
around so many negatives that I'm not enjoying the book. Still, I find it very
difficult to put the book down.

The JC is very good. Bosch is at the helm in this one.
