Batodon tenuis was a species of mammals that lived during the Maastrichtian
(71-65 million years ago), which was the last subperiod of the Cretaceous.
Fossils of it have been found in Wyoming and Montana in the U.S. and in the
Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
This small creature is believed to have weighed 5-6 grams. It has been given
this taxonomy:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Insectivoria
Family: Geolabididae
Genus: Batodon
Species: Batodon tenuis

However, others believe that Batodon should be classified in this way:

Order: Cimolesta
Suborder: Didelphodonta
Family: Cimolestidae

P.S. Batodon was named by Othniel Marsh in 1892.
