The Bangladesh Environment Network (BEN), a global network of Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRB), Australian Chapter, cordially invites you to participate in the inaugural session of a seminar on "Securing Safe Water, Food and Climate in Bangladesh" followed by a Film Show. The seminar will be held from 9:00 am on Saturday 9 June 2012 at Community Hall, Bangladesh High Commission (57 Culgoa Circuit, Yarralumla, Canberra ACT). The seminar program is organized by BEN with the active support of Canberra Climate Action and Healthy Soils Australia.

The main objective of the seminar is to bring a number of key concerned stakeholders together to raise understanding and awareness of the environmental problems and issues facing Bangladesh and the world as well as to collaboratively seek practical solutions to these. The seminar will be attended by a range of participants, including community leaders, civil society representatives, scientists,
parliamentarians, members of diplomatic missions, academics and environmentalists. The participants are expected to present, share and discuss their views, ideas, key issues and challenges towards securing safe water, food and climate in Bangladesh and in the world.

While the people and environment of our homeland Bangladesh are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change we are also well aware of the challenges facing Australia and the rest of the
world. We advocate the urgent need for positive change at all levels to head-off the climate change and broader environmental aspects for the benefits of all homelands of all people around the world. We welcome the opportunity to work with all concerned including broader Australian communities to create a better and environmentally safer and secure world.

We will post our program details through BEN's website and through 'Priyo Australia', our media partner's website and also through other web sites for further information. These events are organized by BEN to mark the World Environment Day. A good number of BEN members, academics and community leaders are travelling from other states and territories to participate in the seminar and the day long program.

We will be delighted to have you at the inaugural session and seminar events as planned. We will highly appreciate your all assistance and support to our initiative by joining us and helping us to continue to raise the understanding and awareness about pressing environmental and climate change issues facing the humanity generally.
