Hi all!

I am a newcomer to this list, my name is Panthera and I am from Sweden. I
am also a beginner when it comes to psychic things. I find it hard to find
people in Sweden interested in this subject, and even harder to find books
in my native tounge. When I discovered this list, I thought it would be a
good idea to join and meet some new
  interesting people, that if I would be fortunated would share a little of
their knowledge. So please Arkangel, I would be very happy if you could
post these excersises from "To Ride A Silver Broomstick" (What a wonderful
name on a book by the way)

With warmth and joy

Panthera

Arkangel,

Yes, I too think that the Deja Vu is a past life rememberence. My husband has
a lot of those. Although he doesn't believe it would be anything like that but
can't explain them either. LOL I've had only a couple but they were strong.
It was really weird too. I knew the area, the streets, were they went to. That
only happened once.

I do think that the Tarot is a great way to practice. Also meditation. That
does wonders too as well as relieve stress. I practice tarot on two different
decks. I have the Aquarian Deck and the Gemstones and Crystals Deck.
Definately find one that you feel is for you. My first deck I have I bought to
learn, the second deck I ran into when I was at a metapsyical store and it
"called" to me. I love my second deck much more.

Hi,

I am new member to this list. My name I JOhn Van Rees,an ordained
NewThought Minister and professional psychic.

In my readings.... I see whether the client has brought past life
information into this life... and often descrive it to them as the deja vu
experience..or when they know that they know someting but do know how then
knew it. It is info they have brought forward with them.

Love and Light,

Greetings John & Welcome!

I do past life readings for some clients and I think they are most
fasinating. I also find them so very personal because I feel you can find
out quite a bit about a client from their past lives. I find it fasinating
how you work with your clients. :-) I have a question that I would love
to hear others opinions on. If one is aware of a situation or problem that
they have brought with them into this life from a past one, what can they
do to solve the problem so as not to carry it further? Also, the times
when we know we've been to places in another life, because we remember it
in this life does that mean we should try our best to travel to those areas
again? Just some food for thought for everyone! :-)

Love & Light!

Greetings All!

This will be the first installment of this topic from Silver Ravenwolf's
Book "To Ride A Silver Broomstick." Every week I will post a new one.

Reading Facial Expressions...

Expressions of anger, astonishment and happiness are the most obvious
indicators of a person's internal thought processes. However, they are not
entirely reliable. Remember, theatrical mimicking of appropriate
expressions is used more than we ourselves would care to admit. For
example, your best friend has confided to you a deep secret and you have
given your word that you will not repeat it. Several days later,you are
approached by a mutual acquaintance who questions you closely about your
best friend. You honor your vow by feigning a variety or emotions, using
contrived facial expressions to make your answers appear believable. I'm
not suggesting that you have lied about the subject, but merely danced
around with words to protect someone you care about. Therefore, facial
expressions, although the most obvious body language, are not necessarily
reliable.

Look more at skin and eye coloration change. The draining or heightening
of color in the face or neck can indicate emotions or thought patterns.
Eyes are definitely windows to the proverbial soul. Almost all eye colors
change tint when the body is undergoing strong emotions, whether they be
anger, sympathy, grief--even when a person is lying! You must be very
observant to catch these coloration changes, and they most often happen
with severe emotions. These changes are more noticeable in individuals
with lighter-colored eyes than in those with darker hues. However, I have
watched distinct color changes in brown-eyed people undergoing great
emotional stress.

For example, very blue eyes may pale during certain emotional circumstance,
or they may get extremely vibrant or turn more to a green color. Brown
eyes can pale in color, become extremely dark (almost black), or turn tawny
gold or hazel.

Eye direction can be another indicator. When people lie,they tend to look
in the same direction each time they prevaricate, but it is not the same
for every person. Some may look to the left, some to the right, and some
straight ahead. People also look in specific directions when formulating
concrete physical recall, and a different direction for abstract recall, so
don't jump quickly to conclusions on the veracity of their statements on
this point alone.

Granted, none of the above does much good in you are dealing with a
stranger. (Except for one case, which I'll get to in a minute.) Eye color
and directional gazes can be studied over a period of time. Your first
exercise will be to view five people for three weeks, watching facial
expressions, eye color and direction during different situations.

There is one particular eye characterization that is difficult to explain,
but seems to remain the same in individuals who are either mentally
unbalanced or of a criminal nature. I first noticed the phenomenon with
someone I know very well. The eye appears to have an unusually thick dark
ring around the iris, while the inner portion of the iris is much lighter
in color. The eyes are usually held unnaturally open, hence the term
wide-eyed. But it is not just things you can see physically; there is a
cold, unhealthy feeling that seeps over you when you look straight into
their eyes.

The next time I noticed this odd characteristic was at a grocery store.
There was a young man standing outside, and I passed close enough to get a
good look at his face. I turned to my husband and said, "That guy has
crazy eyes. I'm telling you, he's bad business."

My husband didn't say too much and we drove on. That night as we were
watching the late news on television, guess who had just been caught for
robbing a different store? You got it. The man I had seen that very day!

Since then I have watched several documentaries on criminals just to
examine their facial expressions and eye coloration. Many of these
interviewed did have "crazy-eye."
Although I've seen this trait more in men, on occasion I have met women who
carry this same "look."

Next Weeks installment will be "Body Positions and Gestures"

For those that will try this exercise, have fun and enjoy! :-)

Loved & Light!

Hi Carol,

I live in the Overbrook Park area. That's all the way up Rt.1/City Line
Avenue. I live on the Philadelphia side of City Line. The other side is the
Lower Merion/Havertown Main Line area.
Do you ever go to the Hand of Aries for workshops? It's off South Street at
4th and Bainbridge.
I go there for Full Moon and esbat rituals, as will as Reiki Circles and
other workshops. Are there any places that have workshops, etc in the North
East?

My mom used to live in Oxford Circle and my brother lives off of Bustleton
and Tomlinson.

No my opinion... just bring the awareness to the client may work to resolve
it. When we know where something came from, then we can release it.
Awareness does wonders.

Also, the times
>when we know we've been to places in another life, because we remember it

I see no real purpose in it... other than curiosity or fun. If we as soul
really wanted to be there,,, why wouldnt we incarnate there? Just my view.

Now that you speak of it, anyone else use the board "psychic circle"? I have
it and love it. It's great! I have usually one person (neighbor, friend) that
stops by once a week to use it. LOL I feel like I should be in a psychic shop.
It is fun though. Has anyone else tried it?

Hi Arkangel,

I stay away for the Ouiji Board. I have a bad feeling about it. If I would
use it again, I would do a protection ritual first so I wouldn't attract
any nasty stray spirits.

P.S. CAROL, I accidently deleted your message.

Greetings All!

I'm right in the middle of working but wanted to take a moment to say that
YES!! I have tried the "Psychic Circle" and love it! My friends and I
have found out stuff about our past lives from it as well as my heritage (I
was adopted at birth) and all kinds of fun and neet stuff.

Heather, I thought maybe you could take a moment to explain more in detail
what the Psychic Circle is all about to Kula and everyone else. Could
you?

Thanks in Bunches!

I have a couple of books but one I feel is useless that other however is
quite good.

"The Practice Of Palmistry" by Comte C. de Saint-Germain

      I wish for the love of me that I could remember the name of the book I
used to have. It was really good written by a gentleman that was really
down to earth. He said that you should always look at both palms when
deciphering with most attention to the more dominant hand. He said if
something showed up in one hand and not the other it was usually obsolete
where as if the same thing showed in both hands it was a pretty definite
thing. He always made sure the readers understood that they have control
over their destinies.  For instance...
      He told the story of how he read in his 4 year old daughters hands
that she could die around the age of 10. So he went into more details but
having astrological charts and other things done on her (I wish I could
remember them all :-( ) Anyway he ended up combining all of the info he
acquired and he came up with a pretty exact date of when this death was to
occur and that it had something to do with their home. 6 months before the
date he made arrangements to move to another state. On the date his
daughter was supposed to die there was a natural disaster in his old town
that killed many and destroyed his old home altogether.
      He wanted to tell this story to everyone so they could understand that
we can take control. He also said to study your palms for one year and you
will see that the lines will change over a course of time.

Love & Light!

I have to agree. I am a medium. However I tend to work thru one spirit that
I am quite comfortable with. Storm can ask questions of the other ones out
there. With a Ouiji Board you are just inviting anyone in. That fact spooks
me... Now mind you all of this is just my opinion of it all...

Marley,

I don't care for the ouija board myself. Not because of the board but because
there is so much bad talk about it, it is not done in the proper love and
light. I feel the ouija is just a tool, but like anything, negative thinking
will bring negative influences.

The psychic circle is similar to the ouija board, but it can represent much
more. It has different colors, astrology signs, and symbols on it as well as
letters and a few words. The board is square but the shape printed on it is
circle.

Hi,

I never heard of a psychic circle either. Thanks Arkangel, for suggesting
that the info on it be posted to the list.

About tarot reading. When I read tarot I see it as revealing the
subconcious of a person. My reads are usually psychological. I like the
way I read. It give me the insight to tell the client the obstacles of the
past, which influence the present, which will perhaps cause certain
outcomes. I think I read this way because I am a healer. However, I don't
think many people care for this kinda reading. They like to know about when
they are going to meet their love, get the money, etc. My readings answer
those questions in a more subtle way. Therefore, I am asking for
suggestions or exercises to increase my awareness on the more material,
physical, nature of my reads. I feel by doing this, I will be more
successful $$$ if I go into the psychic fair business.

Another question. Are there organized tarot reading groups who travel
together at fairs and if there are, how would I go about finding them? It
would be an interesting way to spend my summer.

BB,
Marley

Greetings Carol!

It sounds like you are not too far gone! (chuckle) I mean that in good
humor. :-) I think you can help yourself for the simple fact that you are
aware of the problem. The board can be addicting at times. My friends and
I found that in the beginning it was all we could think about for a couple
of days so we agreed to put it up for a bit until we all mutually agreed we
could use it without the addicting feeling. What we did was give it to the
person with the most control and had them put it in a place that was not
easily accessible. After about 2 weeks we used it again and found that we
had the control over it, instead of it over us. We also went on to find
other outlets that basically gave the same information. We use the Psychic
Circle on occasion mainly just for fun!

So maybe try and force yourself to give it to someone (temporarily even)
until you can get it out of your system. Find other forms you can get the
same info from. There are books out there on countless subjects of
divination.

I wish you luck and if I can help in any way just holler! :-)

think the way you're doing it is better than the love, money dates etc.
The way you read is really helping someone, not just telling them what they
want to hear. I bet you have quite a few clients that come back to you on
a regular basis and have brought you more business by their word of mouth,
true? From the psychic fairs I've been to the readers usually read pretty
much the same way. I think you'd do fine but if you want to really get
into the dates and stuff, the Tarot mixed with astrology and numerology can
help you there. I get dates (and I will never give an exact date) from my
tarot cards using these same methods and then I back up the info with
messages from my angelic guides.

I, myself do not know of any traveling Tarot groups but if I come across
some info I will pass it along to you! :-)

Love & Light!

Greetings All!

Good site Heather, thanks for posting it! :-) Thank you also for the
Psychic Circle description. Trying to keep my own business going, keep the
kids, hubby and house happy keeps me quite busy, too busy sometimes! what
the heck, I seem to remember my parents telling me that the older you get
the less sleep you need! (chuckle)

I have a site for you all to visit too. She's a dear friend as well as my
own personal counselor...

Dear Arkangel Thank you for your good advice. And of course your absolutly
correct. However for those of you who are getting good and accurate
results with the board any suggestions? In other words, I'm assuming that
your doing something that I am not. Perhaps a ritual or a cleansing. And no
I have not had any harm come to me in any way. I am very careful to call on
the white light for protection. I find what comes through the board to be
mischievous not threatening and certainly not accurate. And yes I do follow
good advice so the board will be put away for awhile while I go through
withdraw.  Thanks much Carol

Hi All,

I got really interested in this psychic board, is it possible to buy? Or can
you make it yourself? If you can buy it, does anyone know a place on the
net, where one can buy it. As I am a Swede, they must be able to send it
outside USA. How much would a thing like this cost?

Thank you so much for the interesting websites!

With warmth and joy

Hi everyone,

I've been subscribing to this list for several weeks and enjoying
everyone's posts.

Personally, my metaphysical interests cover a wide range, but I'm
particularly interested in developing my abilities to do Energy
Healings/readings. I devour all the infomation I can get my hands on,
from Barbara Brennan's books, to a number of others, which discuss stuff
like learning to see/percieve the human energy field; chakras, auras,
etc., learning to channel healing energy where it's needed, protecting
one's self from becoming drained, and so on. I've always felt I had an
intuitive, innate ability to do this, but there was a lot I didn't
know. At this point, I'm concentrating on meditating regularly, learning
to sense and channel energy through myself, and practicing a little on
my husband, friends, and cats. So far, no one is any worse off, and some
may have even been helped. (it's hard to prove!) And I'm taking some
metaphysical development classes here and there.

I don't know where this will lead. I've always been fascinated by the
mind/body/spirit connection. I've picked up a lot of knowledge about
nutrition, supplements, herbs, fitness, and hypnosis over the years. I
also have experience with 12-step programs and recovery from childhood
trauma and substance abuse. I'm really fascinated with the idea of
healing emotional trauma through a multidisciplinary approach. I don't
have any credentials to practice--I'm an engineer with a Computer
Science degree. But who knows what may present itself in the future! I'm
just following my heart and keeping my eyes open. (and working as an
engineer to pay the bills ;-)

I'd love to hear from anyone who's doing anything along this line, or
even people who are interested. Advice on getting started, faster
development of abilities, any credential programs out there--or if
that's even so important....anything! Thanks to all.

Carol,

Wow! no one should be mean to you or flame you for your experience and/or
opinion. To each his/her own! I do get carried away as well. Before I start I
usually say "All with light and love are welcome to speak until the word
Goodbye then this session is over". Then I start the session with "Hello" and
when ending say "Goodbye". Never had a problem. Does anyone else have a little
saying before playing the board or something similar?

Greetings All!

I thought I'd pass this along in case any of you may be interested! :-)

Love & Light!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Merry Meet!
Are you new to the Pagan way of life?  Do you have family members who are
interested in the Craft?  Or...
Have you been studying Paganism for a while, but would like to *put it all
together* and discuss Pagan/Wiccan books with others?  Or...
Have you been trying to figure out a way to put your years of experience to
use helping others the way you wish someone had helped you?
***   Announcing the Rebirth of the Craft101 Mailing list!   ***
Craft101 is open to all who wish to read and discuss beginner Pagan/Wiccan
books.  Seekers, Learners, and Practitioners of all levels are welcome.
The list is, however, geared to the beginner and intermediate student.
More knowledgeable students are encouraged to join, as they can help the
beginners to understand how our faith is lived (which has much more depth
than one can comprehend from a book).
We will read and discuss 13 beginner books, a chapter or so a week.  When
we finish one reading cycle, we will start again at the beginning; we
envision this list as being one that any beginner can join at any point and
learn from.  If there is sufficient interest, we will also start at that
time Craft201 for reading and discussion of intermediate Pagan/Wiccan
books.
We'll start of with books that give an overview: the early books are
basically informational with little about actual practice.  We then will go
on to several books that are about both theory and practice in the broadest
sense.  The middle books were chosen to give a variety of angles on
contemporary Wicca and Paganism: British Traditional, British Hedgewitch,
American Eclectic, Fam Trad, Faery/Feri.  Finally we end with _Living
Wicca_ as it is a bridge from beginner to intermediate concepts.
Sign-up now.  A pre-lesson on *The Tools of Learning* will be posted to the
list on April 11th, and we'll start reading the first text on April 18th.
For more information on the list check out our web page at:
         http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/4536/index.html
or e-mail questions to: listmoms@...
or if you know that you would like to sign up now, send an e-mail to:
         majordomo@...
With one of the following in the body of the message:
         subscribe craft101
            or
         subscribe craft101-digest (if you prefer the digest version)
The mailing list is free to all who wish to participate.  Your only cost is
buying the texts.  It is OK if you cannot afford the texts.  Most
discussion topics will be self-explanatory, and we have Summary Weavers who
will summarize the chapters for us.  But the texts are great books for any
pagan library, and you will get more out of the list if you have them.
**Note: Please pass this message along to anyone you think would be
interested.
Blessings,
Terrastel and Andi/Arachne
P.S.  If you would like more information, but are not on the Web, write to
majordomo@... with INTRO CRAFT101 in the body, and you will be sent
the list welcome letter.
