Well, looking at the news, it looks like I've missed quite a bit of
excitement around here while I was in San Diego! CNN only covered it
briefly this morning, but when they reported from Bellevue and said that
over a million residents were without power, I half expected to come home to
a dark neighborhood tonight, assuming I was even able to fly into Seattle.
But luckily there were no major delays at the airport, and things look
pretty normal around Redmond right now, even though it looked like most of
Bellevue and Renton were still dark. I ate dinner at Ruby's in the Redmond
Town Center, and then I found a copy of today's Seattle PI with "POWERLESS"
in huge letters on the front page, so I got to find out just how crazy this
wind storm was! And actually, there's plenty of evidence in my home to
indicate that the power WAS out at some point, but I have no idea when or
for how long.
